Re: Players Championship 9-12 May Tournament preview: 1pt ew B.Snedeker to win Players Championship 40/1 Stan James (1/4 1-6) Very few players in the world have played as well as Brandt Snedeker this season. He found the going just a little too tough over the last nine holes at Augusta last month but he’s a big time player now and this event could be right up his street to really boost him for major tournaments in the same way it did for Matt Kuchar last year. Snedeker’s record here is poor and that is a surprise and a concern at the same time but he’s probably in better form now than he’s ever been when tackling this golf course. He’s straight as a dye, hits a lot of greens and has a wonderful putting stroke and it is hard to see him not featuring strongly this week. 1pt ew T.Clark to win Players Championship 70/1 Bet365 (1/4 1-6) Tim Clark is a former champion around here and he has shown some very good form this season and I expect him to go well here. The major tournaments in America are played on courses too long for him but this one isn’t, this is actually a course which sets up very well for the South African. He doesn’t miss many fairways and if his putter gets hot this weekend he will challenge strongly for this title again at a very tasty price. Re: Players Championship 9-12 May Top European preview: 2pts ew H.Stenson Top Continental European Player 5/1 BetVictor (1/4 1-3) Henrik Stenson is also a former champion around this golf course and since he won the tournament in 2009 he has gone off the rails completely with his game but there have been signs in the last 12 months or so that he is getting his game back, beginning with a top 15 finish here last year. Stenson has three top 20’s in his last four tournaments with one of those coming at The Masters which is a hard week to show your game so I think the Swede has every chance here. 1pt ew T.Olesen Top Continental European Player 9/1 Ladbrokes (1/4 1-3) One European player who I rate highly and think will take the game by storm across the pond soon as well as his success in Europe is Thorbjorn Olesen and he looks great value in this market. He is in good form having finished in the top 6 at Augusta and that course requires much the same as this one ie straight hitting and good putting and they are two attributes which Olesen has in abundance. It remains to be seen if he gets spooked by a first look at 17 this week but if he doesn’t he’s in with a real chance in my eyes. Re: Players Championship 9-12 May Top GB & Ire preview: 1pt ew M.Laird Top GB & Ire Player 22/1 Stan James (1/5 1-3) Martin Laird comes into this tournament in good form and at 22/1 I think he could be the forgotten man in this group. Laird has already won a tournament this season when he landed the Texas Open last month and he was the runner up in this tournament last year so he has good form around the place. Laird is settled in American and has bags of experience of the quick American conditions and with a game to go well around here and form behind him both here and this year he should provide a strong showing. Re: Players Championship 9-12 May Bill Haas @ 85 Betfair Recent trends for the winner of this event favour a player who has had at least 5 previous visits to TPC Sawgrass and someone who has had at least 1 Top 3 finish in the season and 3+ Top 10's. Haas has 5 Top 10 finishes for the season included a 3rd at the Northern Trust. Looking into the type of game that suits and those who do well on the Par 4's have traditionally fared well, and Haas is right up the very top for that category this season. I also think that accuracy off the tee that Haas does so well will set him up nicely and think these odds are just too long for a player of Haas' profile.

Re: Players Championship 9-12 May Good Luck Tournament Match bet David Lynn to beat De Jonge @ 2.2 [Pinnacle] Value for a guy who came so close last week and whose accuracy style of play is made for Sawgrass. De jonge has course form but looked jaded last week

Re: Players Championship 9-12 May Like this tournament, love the 17th, who doesn't! Going for a tickle on Garcia here this week, i reckon he's in good nick and plays here well and won in 2008. Much more consistent these day and will be surprised if he doesnt make the weekend and give us a run for our money. Sergio Garcia 2pts Top Continental European 5/2 Stan James __________________ Going to have a small bet on Ian Poulter to be top Englishman, not quite firing on all cylinders but does seem to lift his game for the bigger tournaments and is often contesting the big pots. He's too big at 10/1 with Donald and Rose being a bit wayward lately and Westwood again missing valuable puts. Ian Poulter 1pt Top Englishman 10/1 Sporting Bet
