I stepped round a corner and got stopped dead, so god knows what it will be like later! I was texting someone it was the 'windiest' city I'd ever been in and predictive text suggested 'wildest', which isn't a bad shout.. lol It was a Saturday night, so we'll let 'em off.. there were Aussies in town for their rugby match too, so you know.. a fun mix. andybell666 Posted November 16, 2013 Share Posted November 16, 2013 Re: PokerPlayer UK Tour 2013 LIVE - next game 16/17th Nov Grosvenor Vic London had a disasterous day at the felt....did not get above starting stack all day after I lost 1/3 of my stack in the very early levels with QQ to a guy that called my raise pf...then called flop & turn bets oop before leading on the river...pretty sure I made a decent fold in the end but it set the tome for the day unfortunately. There were 177 runners or what actually happened was there was 130 or so plus about 40 re-entries. I must say it was very well organized and was held in the newly refurbished Vic (not massive changes but still much better - although annoyingly you have to have your card ready as everywhere you go you keep needing to swipe in to get past barriers). My guess is that the slow and shallow nature of the structure meant there was a lot of play...and in general bad play from what I saw....lots of massive multiway pots early on and guys turning up with junk or making ridiculous overbets to take down some small/med sized pots. I guess my only regret was that I never really had any chips to take advantage of this. I managed to grind my half starting stack for 7hrs without ever being at real risk. I then called a shortie with AK vs his 33 and lost. After that I was crippled with 4 bb and had to get it in with 6d8d and lost to TT...fair enough...good game....... Irish 1 was funny because he was sat in my seat at the ipo, and lost loads of chips. When i got there, people at table said don't sit there as he as lost loads of chips??? I went to TD and he explained that the guy won live sat, the night before, and they thought we were the same, so was going to put cash in his account. Anyway, they put me on another table.
