Re: La Liga > 20th Dec - 22nd Dec Real Sociedad v Sevilla Thu 20th Ninth placed side Sociedad are on an unbeaten run of six league games, seven in all competitions, and are the unlikely holders of the best home defence in La Liga, with only 4 goals conceded at home in eight league games (fewer than Barca, Atletico or Real). They've been drawing too many games recently but in Sevilla they face a side with a poor away record that reads 1.3.4 with only 7 goals scored in those eight road trips. They've also conceded 12 times in their last five away games in the league, where they've picked up just one point from a possible fifteen. The last time these sides met Sociedad recorded a 2-0 win at home. Odds for a home win here are slightly over-priced at 2.50 with Stan James, and around 2.40 with most other bookies. Home win at modest stakes looks reasonable here.

Re: La Liga > 20th Dec - 22nd Dec malaga is totally underrated here and i've been looking at this match since last weekend to go for a draw and i think there won't be better time to go against real madrid as their form has dropped a bit which was evident against draw with espanyol. a team that has qualified from group stage in champions league and are one of the top four sides in spanish league deserve some respect. i think they have got quality to be an even match for their guests

Re: La Liga > 20th Dec - 22nd Dec Real Betis v Mallorca Betis are having a tremendous season by their standards, coming into this game in fifth place, level on points with fourth placed Malaga. They've won three of their last four league games, one of which was against the mighty Real Madrid, and the other game, which they lost, was against Barcelona, when they narrowly went down 2-1. They've also won three of their last five league games at home and will be confident of extending that stat when they face a struggling Mallorca this evening. In their last eleven league games Mallorca have been beaten nine times, picking up just two points from a possible thirty-three. They've scored just once in their last six league games and I can't see beyond a home win here, at generous odds of 1.80 at Hills.

Re: La Liga > 20th Dec - 22nd Dec Betis - Mallorca Me thinking Betis @ ~1.78 looks to be decent value. Mallorca are in horrid form: winless in last 11 and only 2 draws in that time! They've also lost/draw to some of league's bottom half sides: Deportivo (L away), Athletic (L home), Celta (D away). Betis, on the other hand, are looking solid with a recent win over Madrid at home and a close loss to Barca the following fortnight. Sure, they aren't the best road team and they have had their stinkers at home, but again this Mallorca they are playing. I don't see many goals and expect Betis win 2-0.

Valladolid have had two of their last five games go over 1.5 goals in the first half. Messi is on fire, having scored two goals in his last five games in all competitions and will play today. Valladolid are no pushovers and know how to play against tough teams. Their recent match with Real Madrid ended 2-3 to Madrid when Valladolid played at home and there were 4 goals in the first half in that game. The only caution I have with this bet is that Valladolid have been fairly impressive at home and don't concede many at home. Still, the value is good and with Messi's goal rate and Barca having won their last 6 games and being unbeaten in god knows how long, I'm going in with a strong stake.
