Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Oct 29-31 if team news suggests that the likes of afc fylde, arlesley and the met police are resting players ahead of massive first round fa cup games on saturday then maybe some value could be had. arlesey could be worth looking at and maybe opposing if they are resting players, they played sunday, play tonight and then have coventry city away on saturday. however with prize money up for grabs in the trophy it maybe that all teams play their strongest sides available will be scouring the websites/forums for info before deciding whether to have a bet

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Oct 29-31

will wait for addpeas thoughts on corby to beat gloucester, again glos have an fa cup 1st round tie on sunday against league opposition and may be distracted? corby best price 8-5 now
From what I can tell we didn't play that well on Saturday but then we were playing Hinckley so we didn't really need to. Corby didn't play on Saturday so that will probably be an advantage, but they have been very hit and miss (mainly miss this season) and I don't think you could back them with any confidence. One thing to bare in mind is we do have a little competition for places and our manager spoke after Saturday's game that they will be playing for their places on Wednesday for Sunday's game. From my point of view it is a game to leave alone and from a fans point of view I would be happy enough with a draw and no injuries going into the Orient match.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Oct 29-31 A couple of bets for me. I am quite keen on Basingstoke tonight. I think they are better than their league position suggests and should really have beaten Dover on Saturday. Scoring goals in that game was the issue, but I think it will click for them sooner rather than later. I opposed Eastbourne on Saturday but in the end they did manage to beat Eastleigh however their away form is pretty rubbish. They have only won once and scored four goals and I think Basingstoke can nick a win tonight. BetVictor are 6/4. The other bet is a very rare one at Step 4 and it is Maidstone in Ryman Div 1 South. After a slowish start the home side have really picked up form and they are looking very strong right now. They beat higher opposition in the Trophy on Saturday and although it ended up being 3-2 it was a lot easier than the scoreline suggests. They have already beaten Chipstead 4-0 in the FA Cup this season and they look well priced at 5/6 with Bwin to gain another 3 points tonight.

These are good thoughts, BG, though I think they are factored into the prices. Arlesey Town have a decent enough squad and a strong bench these days, so they wouldn't be this price if this were a full-strength encounter in a league game. It's fair to say that Cray these days are no mugs - Paul Vines has returned and they look excellent going forward with Leigh Bremner and Laurent Hamici. I'm pretty sure Met Police will have a strong side out tonight also, and they wouldn't be 11/10 if this were a league game. All in all, two close matches with the betting value slightly towards the home sides despite the cup distractions. AFC Fylde are, I believe, rotating, which explains why in some places they have drifted to 13/8. But once again it's a question of value. For me the best value among the replays is currently in the 13/10 about Nantwich with Corals, but as you say it's worth scouting for team news.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Oct 29-31 Hayes & Yeading United away at Salisbury City (14/5 BetVics) A bit of a devil's-advocate play, but there is nowhere near as much difference between the sides as the price suggests. Salisbury have been playing consistently and deserve to be top the pile, and have already won at Hayes this season. They also boast a fearsome home record, though that hasn't always been the result of dominant performances and last time out against Boreham Wood the visitors matched them in a 2-2. They are young side that can run all night but are quite vulnerable at the back - all descriptions that fit Hayes. If anything Hayes have a bit more creativity and a bit less solidity, and my own price is nothing like this. I like addpea's thought about Basingstoke tonight and I've snapped up the 6/4 at BetVics. I also like the 11/10 about Eastleigh at home to Bath City. Both sides are having monumentally under-performing seasons but I'm not convinced that the wins at Tonbridge and at home to Hornchurch mean Bath have turned a corner. The first team looks considerably weaker than Eastleigh's. I'm happy to take the 11/10 at Corals.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Oct 29-31 Want to draw your attention to the clash between Workington (11th) and Droylsden (19th) in North Conference. Host are quite interesting at home. Guests are awful in away games and I think that such striker as Gareth Arnison will rock this poor defense. Take also into account the real mess with the keeper's position in Droylsden. They can't define who is their number one at the gate. Summary: Workington (-0,5) 2.05 on bet365. Or clear home win 1.9.

That's a decent shout, French. Loanee Joe Mwasile, who tore Alty to pieces last week and looks pretty hard to defend against at this level, should be back and he will be key tonight. Dave Hewson is out, however. Droylsden are not without hope as recent squad changes seem to be having the desired effect but the price looks decent.

Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Oct 29-31

In what is becoming a massive farce' date=' Harrogate have had to postpone another game on their pitch and will be playing the cup game with Hyde tomorrow night at Harrogate Railway's pitch[/quote'] The weather isn't their fault so I don't see how it could be called a farce. I recall, last season I think, certain matches in one round being played on the date that the following round was taking place because of weather problems. If I was Harrogate I would be ticked off it isn't going to be at their own ground, even if it is in Harrogate. I couldn't foresee Citeh agreeing to play at Old Trafford as a home game, for example.

Don't think the weather is having that much to do with it and how many other teams have had as money home games called off as they have had so far this season? Also does it not say plenty about the state of their pitch that the other ground in the town is playable? If they don't sort this out fast they will be lucky to be playing any home games during the winter if we get a bit of rain.

I would have thought, as a Gloucester fan, you would have some sympathy over a waterlogged pitch!

I would have thought' date=' as a Gloucester fan, you would have some sympathy over a waterlogged pitch![/quote'] Come on this is rather different and is a problem that the club need to sort out asap. From what I can gather it isn't the whole pitch but a part of it that is causing the issue.
