chala
Apologies in advance (as I expect this has been asked many times before), but does anyone know where you can get a list of historic betfair prices in both the win and the place markets. I've been picking horses to place recently and doing OK, but would like to know if theres much difference between beting on the horse to place on the tote or on the betfair place market. (I can't check prices during the day as I'm at work).
WorkingForTheEnemy
Re: Historic Betfair Prices I'd imagine it varies, sometimes the Tote being better, sometimes Betfair. The one advantage with Betfair is you know what price you're getting before you place the bet.
KP66
Re: Historic Betfair Prices You can get historic betfair data from the betfair developers forum (there are links on the bf site) which goes back as far as june last year. The files are huge and you'll need to split them to get them into excel for example but if you want to do some checking everything you'll want will be there. chala
Re: Historic Betfair Prices Cheers KP66, are they easy enough to download, or do they take hours?
KP66
Re: Historic Betfair Prices depends on your connection. the files are all zipped and for each month there's a file for the racing data and one for all other bets. I think the racing files are about 15mb but they're around 150mb when unzipped!
Tulenos
Re: Historic Betfair Prices Ie. you need broadband for a comfotable download, wouldn't try it via dial-up.
