As the weekend results haven't been too dreadful the past fortnight, I'm keeping all the leagues I look at in the hat for now but I do find the volume of a little disconcerting. What will be will be I guess!

So, after a pretty horrendous set of results on Saturday (not entirely unexpected considering the number of bets generated by the "system"), and with the recent improvement in the Bank being struck away in one swoop, I feel it may be time to, well, call time on this one. Clearly, just by blindly following the selections, there is vey unlikely to be any sustainable long-term profit. If I was using real money, I think it would be at this point that I took my remainding £32.59 and invested it elsewhere. When starting this, I guess my anticipation was to "win" an average of 3 out of 5 bets (thus giving a strike rate of around 60%, which would have generated a positive yield with the odds that were taken). Over the short-term, it would be hard to see the results of this, but I felt longer-term I might be able to hit that rate. The age old "Past can't predict the future" adage rings very true here and also confirms what I think we all know anyway: Betting on the outcome of a football match is bloody difficult! Another issue is obviously the number of leagues being used is likely to water down the overall results, however I think with this "system" I have at least hit on a pretty random results generator. Games that should have won lost and vice versa. Leagues that were looking good one week were hideous the next and the whole thing screams "blind betting" at me rather than any calculated risk-taking. I think the final strike rate of 51% reflects that. A couple of Leagues do appear to show some promise and some time this week I will present final Profi/Loss figues for each League used. I also intend to continue paper-trialling this with some (but not all!) Leagues but I'm going to do it offline. I have several other "systems" I'd like to test, but again, I'll keep them offline for now. Personally, I don't particularly like following systems when it comes to betting, but I have enjoyed doing this one, and I am truely sorry if anyone lost money on any of these selections ... though somehow I don't think there will have been that many following! I guess my one true regret with this is that the Bank never once went into profit, not bloody once! :lol So I'm sure you'll all forgive me for bailing out now, after several months of continously trawling through the red!
