Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Think someone has got their sums a little wrong on Betfair in the Differdange Gent game. 1.25 for Gent is a little big in my opinion. I saw the price before the bookmakers odds were out and waited to see how bookmakers priced it up. Bwin and others now have 1.15. Differdange got through against a Faroes side and the difference between Belgium league and Luxumburg is very big. Gent in excellent form pre season also so seem well prepaired.

Absolutely true, and one other thing that is worth mentioning - I have noticed that Belgian teams tend to get very nasty against weaker opponents. For instance, in this summer friendlies, Belgian elite sides regularly thrashed their opponents from third or fourth level by 6-7 or more goals. In similar circumstances, team from German and Austrian Bundesliga, have been much more merciful to their opponents.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Hi Fedar I am not so sure I was right now. In the champiopns league Salzburg started out at 1.16 and now have drifted right out to 1.33 against Dundelange the Luxumburg champions. So seems likely something similar will happen for the Differdange Gent game. :unsure didnt know Belgiums got nasty

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July There's a good chance that both Luxembourg sides might lose heavily, but it's also important to remember that this week is only the first leg of a two-legged tie. The stronger away sides might be happy with a draw with the second home leg to come.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Young Boys vs Zimbru Chisinau Young Boys -1 (EH) @ 1.67 (Stan James) 5/10 I watched extended highlights of Zimbru's two games against Bangor and they really struggled to get the victory. Bangor had plenty of chances to claim progression to the next round, and Zimbru's defence looked really dodgy. Although it is true that Bangor played above themselves, the performance from Zimbru doesn't bode well for this game against Young Boys. Zimbru's owner appears to a dodgy geezer with all the patience of Roman Abramovich...he apparently backed his own side to win the league last year with several million of his own money, they finished third and now the club is in severe financial straits and they had to sell many of the best players! I can't confirm this 100%- I read it on a Bangor forum from fans who had been to the away leg and talked to locals, but I can confirm that the new manager for the 12/13 season was sacked after one game (the 0-0 draw away to Bangor). I also read on a google-translated Moldovan website that the players hadn't been paid all summer. I'd assume all this to be correct, they seem to be a club in disarray. They have had some decent results in Europe over the years but last year finished way short of Sheriff Tiraspol and Dacia Chisinau in the league and based on what I've read and their two performances against Bangor I think they are short of the usual standard of Moldovan sides in Europe. As for Young Boys, they are a side with plenty of European experience, who I believe will intend to take the Europa League seriously. They score lots of goals in home European ties on their plastic pitch, which I know about all too well after they took a shock 3-0 league against my side a couple of years ago in a CL playoff. Although Zimbru's defence seemed especially vulnerable in the air, and Young Boys tend to attack along the ground in my experience, I am sure they will create lots of chances in this game and should be able to see off this handicap. As poor as Zimbru are, no team would want to rely on getting a draw in the heat of Moldova at this time of year and Young Boys will want to finish the tie off in Switzerland. The price at Stan James is really good and no doubt will disappear soon, other firms have the -1EH @ 1.45-1.48, whilst 365 have the -1.75AH @ 1.6. I've noted that the asian lines tend to be released later and are more accurate than these European lines for these games, I am sure that 365 will have studied the game in more depth than Stan James when setting their prices.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Servette vs Gandzasar Servette @ 1.3 (Stan James) 9/10 Armenian teams fare badly in Europe; they are fourth bottom in the coefficient, above only Andorra, San Marino and the Faroes. The Swiss are 16th, and have a decent league. Servette finished fourth last season. They haven't been in Europe for a while and will be serious about a good run in the Europa League. I was tempted by the -1 handicap, which does look too big @ 1.9 (other bookies are around the 1.55 mark) but I found that Armenian sides are very defensive and tend not to lose by big margins in Europe. Gandzasar are particularly so, with an average of only 1.71 goals in their domestic games. Servette should definitely win this though, Gandzasar struggled to get past a Faroese side on away goals in the last round, and have little experience of Europe; they are mid-table in their domestic league which seems to be on a summer break at the moment. 1.3 is a standout price and looks good value to me, we often don't think of Armenian sides as being that bad but their record is actually worse than teams from Wales, Luxembourg and Northern Ireland in Europe.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July

Pg_yid' date=' good suggestions, but why u think Zimbru are more likely to lose by a margin than Gandazaar?! Zimbru seem stronger to me than those Armenians.[/quote'] Mainly because Gandazaar don't concede that many goals (only ten so far domestically, in 14 games) and because Armenian sides don't tend to get beaten by big margins in Europe, if you look back in the last few years there have been quite a few 1-0 defeats away from home. Also Young Boys score more goals at home, they are a better side than Servette, they have the advantage of a plastic pitch, and I have seen with my own eyes how dodgy Zimbru's defence is. You're probably right Zimbru are stronger than Gandazaar, but I think Zimbru are more likely to lose by more than one goal tomorrow night.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Mura - CSKA Sofia Under 2.5 @ 1.75 (Bet365) In my opinion a very high likelihood bet (if I use the etiquette of the forum, I would rate it about 8-9 betting points). CSKA Sofia is my team and I am almost 100% informed about anything related to it. They just sold yesterday their best player and key striker - Junior Moraes. His importance for the team is similar to the importance of RVP for Arsenal, so it is no wonder than often people said that CSKA is a one-man team. I don't think that the bookies have yet reflected it in their price, so maybe it is a good idea to make quick moves on this bet. Right now, CSKA is left with just one forward - Irishman Killian Sheridan, who returns from a one-year loan after his weak performance in his first term with the team. So, basically a drop-out from the team is the only attacker to rely on for this game. CSKA in the spring did not score lost of goals, despite the presence of its Brazilian star Junior Moraes. These are the number of goals scored by CSKA out of the total number of goals scored in the game for each away game of the team in the spring: 0 (2), 3 (3), 1 (1), 1 (1), 0 (1), 0 (2), 0 (1). In sum, out of 7 away games, we got 6 unders, five of which are actually under 1.5, not under 2.5. CSKA failed to score a goal in more than half of their away games. Besides that, the head coach Stoycho Mladenov, who has been coaching the team several times in the last ten years, is known for his very conservative approach towards tournament ties. So, it is almost certain from his past record that his first and main concern for the away game will be not conceding a goal. I did not know much about Mura before, but after the draw I watched their two games against Baku in the last round. Very defensive team - very tight in the back and rarely passing into the opponent half. Relying mainly on set-pieces to look for goal, and concentrating on their defense and not conceding rather than looking for a goal. For me this game is very likely under 1.5, and very certainly under 2.5.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Around 50 games tomorrow in EL, an half dozen of the it's worth a try. Khazar Lenkoran vs Lech Poznan Lech not impressed anyone in Kazakhstan against a very poor team in the first round so it looks interesting to give Khazar a chance with the draw no bet here, even considered they know they've to try everything at home to qualify. Khazar Lenkoran +0 @2.30 (Hills) Milsami v Aktobe Lento Milsami just started Divizia Nationala (with a win), but it's Aktobe's away form that's not so good. In Kazakhstan they took only two draws out of their last two matches on the road (and one was against a bottom table team) and they took only one point even in Georgia in first round of EL qual. With the +0.5 above the even line I think this should be taken into account. Milsami +0.5 @2.04 (Pinnacle Sports) Jyvaskyla JK v Zeta To me these look like very nice odds. Jyvaskila is in the middle of their domestic league while Zeta have yet to start its one. Finnish side was impressive against Stabaek in round one and well deserved the qualification after 180'. A (probable) win for the home team looks very valuable here. Jyvaskila JK -0.5 @1.80 (Pinnacle Sports)

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Rosenborg v Ordabasy Shymkent Rosenborg didn't start Tippeligaen as expected but right now they're absolutely on fire: they've just defeated Haugesund on the road, only two weeks ago they beated 1-0 Molde (and now they're climbing the standings), they simply outclassed Crusaders in Ireland in the first leg of the first round... Now Rosenborg have the first leg at home, with an easy home game on Monday against Lillestrom to prepare later I think they could completely focus on the EL match, trying to book the qual right at the end of the first 90'. Ordabasy is a modest kazakh team actually overperforming. Two different classes to me, Rosenborg could win easily by at least two goals. Rosenborg -1.5 @1.86 (12Bet) Servette v Gandzasar Not too much to say on this one. I think Servette is just overrated here, even considered they just started their league (with a loss against the powerful Basel). I mean, winning by three goals is not impossible and Gandzasar looks very beatable but I'm sure some big team in this round will disappoint and I bet on of these could be the swiss one. Very risky bet anyway, I'm just trying something on this one because it appears, looking at past odds, bookies are still unsure on how to rate armenian team. Gandzasar +2 @1.83 (Bet365) Twente v Inter Turku Couldn't resist on this (last) one. When I saw the matchup I thought: oh well, the match-clou! Two very good teams facing in middle July just to advance in the qualifiers... I'll watch it! The I looked the odds and I was like... Really??? Twente with -EV odds with a 2 goals handicap??? Ok, they beated Santa Coloma for a 9-0 two-legs total but Inter Turku is a different story! They're fully professional, they're deep in domestic league, they're the league leader and on a very good mental status (2-0 against former leader HJK just 10 days ago). Maybe it's just me but this one looks a very hard one to pass. Inter Turku +2 @2.16 (12Bet) ----- 2012/2013 FOOTBALL SEASON Bets: 3 Wins: 2 SR: 66.67% P/L: +£1.10 Yield: +36.67%

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Hajduk Split vs Skonto Riga Croats are in very difficult situation: club hasn't yet got new chairman, there is no funds and thus team is very weakened. In doing so, Hajduk was under suspension by the Football Association and they didn't played any official friendly match this summer. On the other hand, Skonto play regular season in Latvia (2nd place after 19 rounds), so from that aspect they have the advantage. However difference in temperature may be a problem for them since in Split is nearly 15 degrees warmer than in Latvia. Hajduk is probably better team here, but they will be with the youngest and most inexperienced players in any European game ever for them. Skonto will play very defensively and I expect a favorable result for them. In any case, there is no value for home win. Skonto +1 AH @2.20 bet365 min stake

If you decide to take this bet, you should have in mind also that on the typical day the atmosphere at the stadium in Split is very hot-tempered and hostile. The stadium is usually full and the support from the stands for the home-team is fierce. I myself wouldn't touch this game.

NK Osijek vs Kalmar Same story here, home team is in a difficult situation and guests are playing regularly in their league. Several important players have gone from Osijek and Sorsa (key player) is missing for this meeting. Away side seem like a better team with some good foreign players. They will be without important absences, so if they overcome the temperature difference can hope for good result tonight. X2 @1.72 Stan James low stake
This one I like already very much. :hope Osijek are mediocre team in the Croatian league who happened to qualify for Europa because they reached the final of the cup (where they lost without much difficulty from Dinamo). I am only a bit worried because of Kalmar's defeat in Cliftonville and their bad domestic shape. But, on overall, I think it is at least 50% chance that they don't lose the game.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Khazar Lenkoran vs Lech Poznan Khazar have the best fans in Azerbaijan and there will be over 15 thousand tonight. They have some good international players (Bonfim, Pit, Subasic). However Lech is better team without doubt. But this is the second long journey about (10 hours) for them in the last 7 days (last game was 1:1 in Kazakhstan). Both teams have no important absences, so I think that home team have a good chance to remain undefeated at home (the field is in poor condition and it will be more suitable to them). 1X @1,72 bet365 low stake Anji Makhachkala vs Honved Encounter between two teams which have the opposite club strategy. Anji with coach Hiddink, players like Eto'o, Zhirkov, Boussoufa, Lacina Traore (who is arrived last for 18m). Team from Budapest was sold or dismissed nearly 20 players during the last two transfer periods. Experienced and proven players against young and inexperienced. Only Samuel Eto'o yearly salary is twice higher than entire annual budget of Honved. Anji -2 AH @1.75 5dimes low stake

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Mlada Boleslav vs Thor Mlada Boleslav -1 (EH) @ 1.67 (Stan James) 5/10 Am a bit worried that this is too good to be true; I only discovered today that Thor are actually in the Icelandic second tier, where they are currently mid-table. They qualified for the EL through being losing cup finalists. To be fair, they did very well in the first round, beating Bohemians 5-1 in the second leg and drawing away, but this will be a much tougher test. Czech teams are 19th in the uefa coefficient rankings, whilst Icelandic teams are 39th. Mlada Boleslav have a bit of experience in Europe, losing to AEK Larnaca last year which is no disgrace and also getting to the group stage back in 2007. Once more Stan James has a standout price, with all the asian lines and the other European lines being significantly lower. I know the Europa League can be unpredictable, but in my experience this tends largely to be later on in the competition when the bigger teams come in and often are not serious about the competition. A team like Mlada Boleslav, you'd imagine, would be focused on having a good run in the EL.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Naftan Novopolock vs Red Star Belgrade Naftan is quite unknown to us in Serbia, but what is known is that they play a long pass and are dangerous in the air, with many tall players. They are currently in very bad shape (8th in the league of 10 teams) with only one win in last 9 games. Gavrilovich (reg df) and Zubovich (reg fw) are with their Olympic team, while Shkabara (reg mf) is injured. On the other hand, Prosinecki has kept the best players from last season except Borja (reg fw). New striker Babalj is not in Belarus, like Mijailovic (reg mf). Milivojevic (reg mf) is in doubt, but if he won't be fit there is very good Cadu. Evandro, Lazovic, Milunovic with striker Kasalica will be the biggest threat to home team. Although Red Star haven't played well in the preparation period, I think they're definitely a better opponent here. And as always "my team" will have the support, this time about 500 fans (with friends from Moscow, Spartak fans). Red Star -1 AH @2.07 Pinnacle low stake Untitled-1-copy2.jpg

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Anzhi Makhachkala -2 (EH) @ 2.00 sportsbet Opportunity for Anzhi to show that the huge amounts of money that they have handed out to get some very good players in their side will have the right result. Players like Etto, Samba and Zhirkov should give them a class edge here and doubt that Honved have the players to stop a player like Etoo getting on the end of some chances. Vitesse Arnhem -1 (EH) @ 2.30 sportsbet Like the Dutch side here as they do have some good players that can score but their problem has also been conceding goals in their games last year in the Dutch league. Still, like their chances of winning this by a couple of goals as the Bulgarian side is not that good, and are coming off a 3-1 loss to Ludogorets in the Super Cup, where their own defence was exposed. Twente Enschede -2 (EH) @ 2.00 sportsbet Twente are a team that can score goals, and were able to score 82 goals in the Dutch league last year and they continued that form with an easy 9-0 aggregate win over Santa Coloma. While this should be a slighlty harder game for them, Inter have conceded 4 goals in each of their last two away games in the Finnish league, and with such a leaky defence, then can see Twente scoring a few goals here

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July First post here. Surprised no one has mentioned Eskisehirspor v St Johnstone. St Johnstone are a very poor side. They are not used to playing in Europe, and are here mostly because Dundee Utd and Hearts had particularly poor seasons. They've lost Sandaza and Morris already; Sandaza scored almost all their goals last season, and Morris has been a mainstay in CM for a long time. They've brought in Tade from ICT, who isn't bad, but he is injured, as is their captain Mackay. Eskisehirspor have a very good squad and I would expect them to challenge in the group stages. They've brought in Nuhi, Malecki, Servet Cetin from Galatasaray, and also bought a few youngsters. They have some players with very good European and international experience. It will be 30c, which the Scottish players won't enjoy, and I can't see this being anything other than a comfortable home victory. I will be taking the -1.5 handicap @ 1.8 (bet365). Odds are probably a tiny bit short, considering the stage of the season, but I am only really betting small potatoes until the main leagues begin.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July I'm on what is a possibly a bit of a mug punt in Anzhi Makhachkala -2AH at 1.9, when you bet on something like this which appears too good to be true it normally is, but its hard to see how the Russian side (who are playing all the star men) will fail to beat a v.poor Honved side by at least 2 goals. I was waiting to see if new £18m man Traore would start up front after he was slightly injured in training but he does line-up alongside Eto. Its being played near Moscow which isn't ideal but hopefully won't make too much difference, the crowd will certainly be smaller though. Honved only finished one point above sixth in the Hungarian league last year and have sold their top scorer and other key players due to financial problems, they struggled to a two leg win in the last round against an Albanian side but their journey is likely to end here. I can't imagine Hiddink will let them go easy today and to be honest players of the quality of Eto, Traore, Boussoufa should have a field day here, worst I can imagine is money back. Anzhi -2AH - 1.9 - betinternet - 5 Points

Yep, was a mug punt..:\, a few got caught in this one I think, I got seduced by the names on the pitch but there is still too much Russian industry in the midfield and not enough creation, I'll be giving them a wide berth in the future.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July Mates, important information about a game that took place today - Lokomotiv Plovdiv - Vitesse (4:4). I am pretty sure that this game was fixed for betting purposes. I got some information about an hour before the game but refused to believe it, so neither had a bet on it, nor wrote about it on the forum. I watched the game, nevertheless, and I am absolutely confident that it was fixed. Lokomotiv Plovdiv is known in the local football folklore as being the most suspicious team for betting deals and their owner is known under the mocking nickname "Toto". You can check all their friendlies this summer - they were all full of goals, but I did not expect that they will do it in the euro tournaments as well. You can look for some video highlights and pay special attention to the way goals were scored. From now, I can assure you that the next game in Arnhem will be also full of goals (definitely over 3.5). These two teams are shame for the beautiful game. If UEFA cared about fairplay, they should initiate investigation about this game and kick both cheating teams out of European football tournaments.

Mmm..just a friendly word of warning, talking about fixed games isn't normally welcomed on here by all accounts! Otherwise you get every loon on the internet talking about 'fixed matches' when they lose a bet. I did just watch the highlights and none of the goals looked suspicious, just two defensively crap sides none of the goals were walked in or particularly strange. I will categorically say no Dutch team will be guilty of match fixing, certainly not in a Europa league game! Not being naive, just wouldn't happen.

Re: Second qualifying round, 1st leg > 19 July I did not lost any money on this game, cause i didn't bet on it. I don't mean to complain, I just want to warn anybody before the return game to be careful. Many weird results involving Eastern European teams lately (Sarajevo - Hibs, BATE-Vardar, Naftan - Zvezda), but about this one I am almost certain.
