Impressive stuff Santos - except it's July! :p Your Chart says June... Apologies if this is earlier in the thread.... How do you compile your ratings - just roughly, and how do you select the races that you are going to play in. Your P/L is to BSP as well isn't it? Reckon you'd be 10-15% better off if you got the early prices right too... Great stuff anyway - keep it up!:clap

haha ah yes thanks it is July isn't it :D Well for the ratings I score the horses on a few set criteria and have scores for each of these. These include things like Official Ratings, Distances beaten in previous runs, Finishing Positions, Course/Distance/Going form, What level the horse is racing at today compared to previous runs it's all criteria like that then add them up and get my scores. I have ten different criteria in all. As for the race selection I used to have trouble deciding what races to pick and there are far too many for me to look at every day so when I was trying this out I found the results worked better generally with better races so as you can see I choose 5 races on a weekday and pick the best races on the day (mainly based on prize money) Saturdays I tend to just focus on the Channel 4 races mainly or Big meetings when there on. Yeah I base the results to betfair sp's as it's just easier and sometimes don't have the time to check early prices but of course sometimes you can back them for much bigger prices compared to SP's but for the purpose of the thread easier to stick to sp's. I like the idea of the scoring system - very much appeals to my disfunctional brain having spent my childhood compiling lists and lists of which Top Trump was the best based on all the different ratings in relation to all the other cards!!! :rollin I guess it's just a way of scoring what we are all trying to do - which is work out the winner of the given race. I think the best part of your system is that it removes any element of emotion. Your figures tell you what to do and at the moment it's paying off. I guess that's the worst side of it too though. I mean if your top 2 are say 4/6 & 3/1 and your 3rd rated by a point or 2 is 25/1 and has a good record at the course or whatever then that should probably be the bet.... Still - it ain't broke so don't fix it! All good - will watch on with interest.

haha I was the same like to try and think up different things and I have always been fascinated in different systems when it came to racing and I have come up with quite a few in the past some worked well some didn't. I guess I used to get bored with different systems when you hit a poor run etc and thought right what can my mind think up next lol but then one day I thought why not try and combine the various systems that had been successful and incorporate them into one system which is pretty much what these ratings are by in large a breakdown of some of the more succesful systems I used with a few tweaks.

I was the same mate I alwys liked trying new systems but once they had a bad spell Id get bored where if I'd stuck with it would have eventually got the winners again. Have been backing via these ratings though since the end of last season and done well so no need to change reallly, for myself anyway. Agree you just got to be disciplined the overall results are what counts bound to have a few off days as long as there are more good then bad then it's ok.
