The Australian lengthy tri series is back this year with Sri Lanka and India the two sides taking part in the 5 week competition. All matches are ODI's and all the games are live on Sky although not necessarily at great watching times for those of us in the UK but nevertheless there should be some good betting opportunities available. Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) Excited for this. Three outrights for me: - 3pts India to win the Commonwealth Bank Series @ 11/4 [betVictor] It will be interesting to see how India will do in this series because they've had a pretty terrible year. Despite this though, I think they will go well in this tournament and they have key personnel available to them which will see them good. Let's not forget that these guys are the World Champions, what I like about them here though is that they have almost everyone barring Yuvraj available. Zaheer, Praveen Kumar and Ashwin will lead the line, with quality like Pathan, Yadav and Vinay Kumar in reserve. Sachin is back up top with the usual and very-impressive middle order. Australia are widely favoured and probably rightly so. I can't think to back them at 1.53 though. Their bowlers haven't played for a while and without Shane Watson, their opening pair of Warner and Wade is suspect for me. Sri Lanka are in bits. New captain, key players out of form and no immediate practice means I can't even think about getting on them. I fancy India. It should be an India/Australia final and I fancy the tourists to take it. Nice price too. - 2pts Top India Series Batsman: Virat Kohli @ 9/2 [betVictor] Virat Kohli is probably the only player in the Indian Top 7 that can come out of the England and Australia away series in both Tests and Limited Overs with his held relatively high. He hit a great century the other day and looked good in both T20's before striking out. He'll probably come in at no. 4 for India in in these matches which should be just the maximum boundary for this to come in. Sehwag throws his wicket away too much for me, Gambhir has looked better recently but was really in bits at the start of this tour whilst Sachin will have that dreaded milestone over his head for ages. I like Kohli for this, a few good innings and he's well on his way to succeed MS as the next Indian skipper. Would've like 6.00, but I'll take 5.50. - 4pts Top Sri Lankan Bowler: Lasith Malinga @ 7/4 [WillHill] Not much real reasoning needed here is there? Malinga doesn't need practice or any real match practice to make his mark. He came back to the ODI scene against South Africa last month and took 11 wickets in 5 matches. The second placed bowler had 3 wickets. Three! His yorkers should destroy many openers and clean up many tails as they always do and he should be expected to play every match and bowl his full allocation of overs. Malinga for me.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) Annoyingly, there's a lot of rain in Melbourne scheduled, which is a shame because I reckon India might have given Australia some problems. 6/4 on the tourists actually becomes more appealing in the event of D/L actually but 70% chance of precipitation every hour after 3pm is not good and it's for that reason I'll swerve the match. Good luck to anyone having a go tomorrow and in the series :ok

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) You read my mind Tyler. 5 outrights for me in this series. 3pts India to win Commonwealth Bank Series 11/4 BetVictor I think we can scrub Sri Lanka out of this contest. They look to be in a bit of political turmoil at the minute and their batting line up looks too shaky not to mention their bowling attack which Malinga aside is next to non existant. So this should come down to India and Australia and I think the price on India is too big. This is much more their cup of tea and having won the World Cup I expect them to want to show that they deserved to win that tournament and didn't just win it because they hosted it. We saw in the last T20 that they have the ability to play on these Australian wickets and what was most interesting was how India's spinners squeezed the Australian's. You would think this series would be a trial by spin for the Australians so it will be interesting to see if they can find ways to score quickly enough against them. Australia have picked a few youngsters in their squad for this series and with Brett Lee now ruled out for it's entirety you can see the Aussie bowling attack going around the park a bit on flat decks. I don't think there will be much between India and Australia but with India's knowhow and experience in the 50 over game in their squad I will take them to win this series. 3pts V.Kohli Top India Series Batsman 9/2 William Hill Virat Kohli is absolute class isn't he? He's shown throughout the last 12-15 months that he can compete in all conditions and whenever you watch him bat he looks like Sachin in every single way. He plays like him and scores like him a lot of the time too. He has all the shots and is equally at home against seam and spin. One minor problem would be that he's likely to bat at 4 in this series but Sehwag's been a walking wicket all summer and Gambhir has been hit and miss a lot of the time too. Those below Kohli in the order shouldn't get the time at the crease that Kohli will so with that in mind and his form of the test series and his ODI form in England, I'll take the next big thing in the India side to top score for them in this series. 3pts L.Malinga Top Sri Lanka Series Bowler 7/4 Blue Square Like Tyler says this doesn't need a lot of explaining. There's no mystery from Mendis in this squad and the rest of the seamers are all much of a muchness. Malinga is a master at the beginning of the innings and at the death and he's not bad in the middle either. It will be a major surprise if he's not the top Sri Lanka bowler but with this competition 5 weeks long and a lot of matches I'll keep stakes moderate in case of injuries, rotation and any other issues. 2pts D.Warner Top Australia Series Batsman 4/1 Sportingbet Dave Warner has been in good form all summer and this is his gig. Amazingly he's still not a genuine shoo in at the top of the order for Australia because Watson, Marsh and whoever keeps wicket can all open the batting too so Warner will need a big series to really bolt down his place in the side. Having made his first test ton earlier in the summer we know he's good enough for this level and with the two new balls coming onto the bat and seamers bowling early in the innings I think he will have the best of the batting conditions before the spinners come on to strange later in the innings. Warner will score quicker than anyone while he's at the crease and he has enough going for him for a small top series batsman bet here. 1pt Rahul Sharma Top India Series Bowler 12/1 Stan James Daft price alert. Sure Sharma might not play in every game but if he gets the gig early on and does well he could easily play in every game. We've seen in the T20 how Dhoni trusts him at the end of the innings so he could easily pick up a few 'cheap' wickets when the slog is on later. His tall leg spin could easily have a say earlier in the innings too, particularly as he can turn it both ways and with Australia never really convincing me that they can play spin I will take the Anil Kumble like leggie to be India's top series bowler as a bit of a hunch.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) And one for the 1st ODI. Rain around so not gone mad. 4pts Australia vs India - Under 5.5 6's 5/6 Ladbrokes I'll chance my arm here. In this bet a minimum of 80% of the overs must be bowled. If the 80 overs aren't bowled in the game then we're void and I can handle that. The reasoning for this bet is pretty much the same as in the T20 match played here. It's a huge ground and hitting 6's aren't easy at the best of times let alone in heavy conditions like we're set for here. There were only 3 6's in the T20 match where slogging is more readily possible and so I really don't see us getting double that here with the forecasted conditions.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) Virat Kohli MOTM @ 13 Sportsbet This game is at the WACA where Kohli found form this summer with innings of 44 and 75. India have been here for a few months and I expect them to win this game as they should be more adjusted to the conditions of the Australian pitches. Kohli I believe has 8 MOTM performances in his past 41 ODIs and given he's been India's best batsman this tour (IMO) I think this one offers value.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) This series is definitely more of a marathon than a sprint. Don't want to be taking too many bets early on so will only have one tomorrow: - 4pts Sri Lanka Extras: Under 15.5 @ 4/5 [Ladbrokes] Before I start, remember this is the number of extras India will give away when they're bowling. Right. I've had a look back at the last 15 ODI's that India have played since the World Cup. That will be 5 in the West Indies, 5 in India (vs England) and 5 in England again against England. In those 15 ODI's, they've only ever conceded more than 15 extras TWICE. Even in the series against the West Indies where the young and more erratic Mithun was present, 15 extras was never breached. Tomorrow, we can expect Praveen Kumar and Vinay Kumar to lead the line, some more experienced heads to say the least with Ashwin, Raina and Sharma taking the spin options. You wouldn't expect a bundle of extras from either. Dhoni is more than accomplished behind the stumps to prevent four byes too which helps. I guess the fear here is that Irfan Pathan unexpectedly gets the nod to play and he bowls a couple of wayward "steve harmisons" and shit's all over this bet from the off. I don't think he'll play though, if the same bowling attack from the 1st ODI lines up tomorrow then even on a track which "aid's the quicks" I think this should be okay. I'll play tentatively with 4pts to begin.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) 2pts India to win Commonwealth Bank Series 10/3 Stan James One game down versus Australia and already India are on the drift. They've had a tough summer so far and there looks to be some morale issues and potential conflict in the camp, but there is class through the Indian lineup. In the batting department the old boys Laxman and Dravid have been replaced by the youth and enthusiasm of Raina and Sharma. Fielding should improve and if India can build on their T20 win and gather some momentum the form will improve and wins will follow. They should qualify for the finals where it becomes a two-horse race. At 10/3 India look to be good value and they should shorten. 1pt Dave Hussey Australia Top Series Batsman 5/1 Stan James Dave Hussey is in the form of his life at the moment. He's a proven consistent performer and was recently man of the series in the Domestic T20 competition. He's versatile enough to get runs quickly when the going is good, or time is short, but (like his brother Mike) he can also knuckle down and work the ones and twos when rebuilding or grafting is needed. He's off to a good start with 61 runs in the first game. There's even talk of him fighting his way into the Test side - which is sure to spur him on.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) India vs Sri Lanka - Wednesday 8th Feb 1pt Lasith Malinga to take 1st Wicket for Sri Lanka 2.50 SportingBet The fastest Sri Lankan bowler should be opening the bowling and is likely to be at his most dangerous with the new ball on a typically fast WACA pitch. Up against a sometimes reckless and struggling Indian top order which has struggled with pace and bounce all summer, this price is cracking value on what should probably be an even money bet at worst. 2pts Lasith Malinga Most Wickets for Sri Lanka 2.85 Centrebet Same arguement as above primarily. If there is one pitch in Australia that is going to suit Malingas express bowling it's the WACA. There isn't a lot of talent or depth in the Sri Lankan bowling attack so if there is any chance of bowling India out then Malinga needs to be doing most of the damage. This bet is also part common sense and part hedge against the next bet (below). 3pts India to defeat Sri Lanka 1.67 Stan James While India have had a terrible summer so far, they've shown some glimpses of turning it around and they should relish the opportunity to knock over a Sri Lankan team which has seen more than it's fair share of turmoil recently and hasn't yet played in Australia. Sri Lankas recent form has been patchy and apart from Malinga their bowling lacks depth. If India has the sense and discipline to "see off" Malinga they should be able to make hay against the rest of the Sri Lankan attack. 0.5pt Kohli Top Indian Batsman 5.00 Centrebet Showed good form in the Perth Test match, indicating he will like the conditions for this match and he has been building his season performances nicely. Last match against the Australians he top scored and he is one who should really relish the opportunity of punishing a weaker Sri Lankan bowling attack.

WIN - 4pts Sri Lanka Extras: Under 15.5 @ 4/5 [Ladbrokes]
Good day all round in here chaps well played. Have to say massively unlucky Crouchy on that Kohli MOTM, looked nailed on before Ashwin's innings. What a top player he is. Some nice shouts from Freelance too. Nice odds on Malinga to snag the 1st wicket. Well played :clap

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) Game 3 in the morning. I'll take 3. 4pts Sri Lanka Under 2.5 6's 5/6 Ladbrokes Sri Lanka played here in Game 2 of the series and didn't hit a single six against what I would call a weaker India bowling attack than the one Australia will throw at them in this match so I think this line could be a little too high for them. Sri Lanka don't hit a lot of sixes at the best of times and unless Dinesh Chandimal goes mental or Perera comes in and goes bonkers I don't think this line will be threatened. This WACA ground is probably the smallest of the international grounds in Australia but it's still big enough that the 6's are easy to hit. India had some powerful hitters against Sri Lanka and only hit one six against the weakest attack in the competition. With Tharanga, Sangakkara, Jayawardene and largely Dilshan looking to get it done on the ground I think this line is a bit too high for Sri Lanka to cover. 4pts M.Wade's Performance Pts - 43&Over 5/6 Bet365 Points are scored as follows: 1pt per run, 10pts per catch & 25pts per stumping. Matthew Wade is in excellent form right now and he'll be looking for another good performance in this match to try and force his way into the side permanently and maybe into the test side with Brad Haddin's place in the side under real threat. Wade is opening the batting and is doing it very well and he could easily cover this with the bat but he's sure to get some joy with the gloves too with the quality of the seam attack on show from the Aussies here. Dhoni stumped two Sri Lankan's on this ground on Wednesday so there's no reason why a stumping can't present itself here. The form he's in with the bat says to be he can cover this with the willow so I'll definitely take the overs here. 1pt ew A.Mathews Top Sri Lanka Batsman 8/1 Bodog (1/5 1,2,3) The market on the Bodog website says this is a win only market but when you open up the betslip the each way option is available and at 8/1 this is a bet I like. Angelo Mathews is a very competent batsman who seems to have a Dhoni like instinct of how to pace an innings. He came in at number seven in the last match but still made 33 off 28 balls in a losing effort. He may well get promoted up the order here to at least number six and with this Sri Lanka batting line up struggling that's a position he can top score from. When Sri Lanka played an ODI series in Australia prior to last winter's Ashes, Mathews had a tremendous series and he's already shown a liking for the conditions in this series. At 8/1 I think he can go very well in this match.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) Two for me ahead of tomorrow: - 4pts Player Performance: M. Wade Over 43 @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] Wade is doing his very best to tell the Australian selectors to forget about Brad Haddin. He's in good form right now and I think he is in a good position to cover this line at the WACA which is good for keepers. MS Dhoni was here a few days back and got 60 points with the gloves alone. Obviously it's difficult to compare teams like that but the pace that should be on offer for the quicks and the plethora of spin options available for the Aussies could see points for glovesman. Add to the fact he's in good form with the bat and we should have 44 poitns. - 4pts Australian Sixes: Over 3.5 @ 6/5 [Ladbrokes] The WACA is a small enough venue for sixes. The Aussies are a good team for sixes. Generally this track is quite sluggish which isn't really the best help here but on a small ground and a top four that can clear any boundary against a very average attack dominted by spin, I see four sixes for the hosts. If Warner or Hussey has a half decent knock, I see them clearing half this themselves. I will play quietly confidently that the hosts get swinging practice tomorrow in Perth.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) One extra Series Bet for now :- 1pt Tillakaratne Dilshan Top Sri Lanka Series Batsman 4.00 Stan James Already off to a good start with some runs in the first game, Dilshan should enjoy getting back to basics now that he doesn't need to worry about the captaincy. He played more freely in game 1 and historically does reasonably well both against Australia and in Australian conditions. Bets for todays game :- 0.5pt Tillakaratne Dilshan Top Sri Lanka Batsman 5.00 SportingBet See above for explanation. Has already played one game at the WACA with a reasonably good result. He's a good chance to go one further today and on a fast pitch we might see him pull off his trademark "Dilscoop" as his confidence returns. 2pts David Warner Performance Over 37.5 at 1.90 LuxBet Warner has been in great form over the summer and tore apart the Indians at the WACA last month. He's got some low scores in the last couple of matches and with talk of him potentially being "rested" to rotate fringe players like Peter Forrest into the side he is bound to be fired up for a big game here. He's also a brilliant fielder and is usually good for a catch or two aswell. 2pts Angelo Matthews Performance Over 33.5 at 1.90 LuxBet As has already been mentioned, he likes the conditions in Australia and did reasonably well at the WACA in game #1 with the bat. He also looked to be one of the more dangerous bowlers against India so there is 2 very good chances to cover this performance line. 2pts Australia defeat Sri Lanka 1.40 BetVictor Australia are simply on fire at the moment with a pace barrage that will love bowling at the WACA and batsmen who love playing with a straight bat on a fast surface. Meanwhile Sri Lanka are still adjusting to conditions and with a bowling attack that looked a bit soft in their first game. Malinga was especially dissappointing and if he bowls the same again today he should get punished. The odds are a bit skinny so it's a lower stake than I would normally put on a win bet, but the fundamentals are still right. 0.5pt Dhammika Prasad Most Sri Lanka Wickets 5.75 Centrebet Bit of a speculator here, but Prasad bowled ok in the first game and was recently fairly impressive in the Pakistan series. Even if Malinga doesn't fire the Aussies are likely to respect him and keep him out, but Prasad is still a bit of an unknown who the Aussies might try and go after. If they do, he is good enough to bowl the right line and surprise a few by getting some poles.

Kev's prediction of a stumping for Wade was prophetic. Never would have picked him to pass that line after the 1st inns!

Two for me ahead of tomorrow: WIN - 4pts Player Performance: M. Wade Over 43 @ 5/6 [Ladbrokes] LOSS - 4pts Australian Sixes: Over 3.5 @ 6/5 [Ladbrokes]
Minimal loss for me. I swear Mckay was so close to bringing in that fourth six. He hit a four that couldn'tve been more close to the boundary if he tried then Thirimanne did that unbelievable catch to get him out in the last over on the boundary. God. Well played though Kev. 8/1 top bat? Have to salute that. Well played.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) +2.52 going into Game 4 in Adelaide. I really fancy India. At 6/4, they might not be a bad shout. I'll leave it though. Two for me. - 4pts Player Performance: MS Dhoni 41 and Over @ 5/6 [bet365] I like taking wicket-keepers on PP markets. Wade came in for us in the last Australian match and to be honest, I wouldn't really go against taking him aswell tomorrow but I am choosing Dhoni. Dhoni will probably come in at #6 tomorrow, he's been promoting himself ahead of Jadeja recently and chipping in with a few runs. He scored a quick 29 runs against Sri Lanka and I think he will do something similar tomorrow. The Indian top order barring Kohli have been pathetic. I don't know why they are chopping and changing their openers so frequently and Raina/Sharma is just not working. Dhoni should get at least 10 overs tomorrow to work his magic, he's arguably the best finisher in the game. Add the chance of edges and more important stumpings with all the spin on offer from India and we should get 42 points. - 2pts Highest Individual Score: 75-99 @ 7/2 [bluesq] There has been one century in the last 5 ODI's and that came last year through a Jon Trott special. Other than that though, big individual scores and big team scores have been a rarity at Adelaide. No team has passed 300 in the last 10 ODI's and the average first team score has been a meagre 224. In three of the four matches before the aforementioned England / Australia game, the top score fell nicely in this range and with the recent sluggish nature of the Adelaide pitch and the quality of bowling, I'll play it falls again in this 25 run gap.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) Excellent work too FT :clap. 3 for me for Game 4. +16.27pts for the series after the last game. 3pts India to beat Australia 11/8 Paddy Power I quite like the chances of the Indians in this match. Conditions at Adelaide should be more to their liking than the ones they have experienced in Melbourne and Perth so far in this series. Despite that they battled hard to win in Perth against Sri Lanka and can come into this match with their danders up and their confidence high. Their top order in the most part are delivering and their bowling attack with all their changes in pace and variations in lines and length is working nicely. In Zaheer Khan they have a class act regardless of which colour ball he has in his hand but the likes of Ashwin and Jadeja support him well. Virat Kohli is showing himself to be the class act he is with the bat while MS Dhoni is as good as they come in the back end of an innings. Australia won a rain affected first match against India but although they controlled their match with Sri Lanka they should have lost it at the death and Michael Clarke's side could find it hard to put a team away when they are rotating like they are expected to do in this match. Michael Hussey was left behind in Perth so it looks like Peter Forrest will make a debut in this match while Mitchell Marsh has joined up with the squad and he too could feature. India are a good one day side though and signs are that they are settling down to the job. We saw it take them ages to get to grips with life in England but when they did they played really good cricket in the 50 over matches and a repeat of that looks like happening here which makes the 11/8 on the tourists look rather big here. 4pts R.Ashwin's Performance Pts - 40&Over 5/6 Bet365 Ravi Ashwin comes into this match in good form. He's one of the few Indians on this tour who can hold his head up high because he has performed well throughout the tour. The surprising thing is how well he's performed with the bat and that's very much a solid point scoring option for him in this match. However it's with the ball he will specialise and having taken 5 wickets in the test match on this ground I expect him to go well with the ball here too. He took 3 wickets in his last match in Perth, a ground which traditionally wasn't supposed to assist him at all. Adelaide will as he will get turn and he may well get a bit of bounce too. Spinners at Adelaide can throw it up a bit higher because you're not going to get smoked for 6 down the ground because it's like hitting to a new land the boundaries are so big straight here. David Hussey took 4 wickets in an ODI here last year and even Steve Smith took 3 wickets so spinners do take wickets here and throw in his batting potential too and I think Ashwin will cover 40pts in this match. 2pts X.Doherty Top Australia Bowler 4/1 Bet365 I've purposely taken this bet with Bet365 as if there is a tie then the most economical bowler is the one who gets the verdict and I expect the Tasmanian left arm spinner to be quite tight in his spell in this match. Doherty took 2 wickets in a shortened spell against India in the first match of this series and on a wicket which is likely to turn a little bit I expect him to go even better in this match. I've already mentioned above how the spinners can attack a bit more in Adelaide and that's what I expect Doherty to do here and if he gives it enough flight, with the amount of right handers in the Indian batting line up these days, I think Xavier Doherty can end up taking the most wickets in this 4th match of the CB series.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) I'm checking in a bit late here, but I think this one will be very close and is likely to be won by the team batting first. 2pts Team Batting First Wins Not sure if I can do this without quoting a price or a market, but I'm waiting until after the toss to take the position. Both teams have shown they can struggle when pressure is applied. Adelaide is one of those big grounds where the spinners can not only dominate, but can be extremely effective in stifling an oppositions run chase. India have some very good spinners, but Doherty is also a masterful defensive spinner as he showed the other night. 0.5pt David Hussey Man of the Match 15.00 SportingBet David Hussey is a good grafter who can knock the ones and twos at the bigger grounds, and he is also a great player of spin which is likely to feature in todays game. Particularly if the Aussie Top order struggle against the Indian spinners he will get a good chance of spending serious time in the middle. When it comes to bowling, he is also quite handy and if Australia are defending a total he is more than capable of scamming a few poles as the run rate required climbs.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) Change of inning with Australia 269/8 As Australia won the toss and batted I went with them. Got 1.55 post-toss with SportingBet My bets are now linked and looking in reasonable shape. Dave Hussey top scored with 72, but won't get MoTM unless Australia win. I'll get both bets or neither.

WIN - 4pts Player Performance: MS Dhoni 41 and Over @ 5/6 [bet365] WIN - 2pts Highest Individual Score: 75-99 @ 7/2 [bluesq]
What a player Dhoni is. That six went 112m over one of the longest boundaries in Australia. Shit. Glad he brought it home though and quite glad India dont employ DRS. Gambhir was definitely not out. Probably should've trusted my instincts and backed India but I cant complain. Good day all round.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) +10.84 going into Game 5. Small stakes. - 4pts Total Wides: Under 14.5 @ 5/6 [WillHill] History has shown that seamers generally get more joy at the WACA than spinners. It's for that reason that alot of seam is expected tomorrow from each side and that is never really a good thing for wides. Despite this though, wides generally aren't that much of a common occurrence with these two bowling line ups. India have played three matches so far and conceded 4, 7 and 4 wides respectively whilst Sri Lanka have conceded 5 and 7 in their two matches. India have a very disciplined bowling attack. You very rarely see extras from Zaheer or the two Kumars whilst Rvi Ashwin is usually always on point. Sri Lanka with Mathews, Welegedera and Senneyake are fairly watertight too. The fear I guess is that Malinga/Yadav/Prasad have nightmares and fling the ball all over the WACA but they've been fairly quiet on the extras front. I said I wanted to shoot unders on India's extras in this series. Ladbrokes have annoyingly removed that particular market but I think we have decent scope for unders on the wides tomorrow instead. - 2pts Top Sri Lanka Bowler: L. Malinga @ 2/1 [bet365] I am always tempted by this bet when its 2/1 or more. Every time it is 2/1, I never touch it and what happens? Dude goes on and proceeds to take five wickets. Obviously then the match after, he shoots back to 7/4 or 13/8 which is too low. After sharing the spoils in the previous match though, Malinga is now back at 2/1 and it's time for me to get involved. Doesn't even need much explaining, he will always be a threat. India's constant changing of their top 3 makes early striking much easier, if he doesnt snag one then, wickets should come from the tail at least. Two wickets should be enoguh for at least a tie, that'll do.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) Tyler, game 5 is being played in Adelaide. You might want to review your bets because Adelaide usually plays a bit differrently to the WACA. Often slower and lower and sometimes a bit two-paced. Doesn't usually have the bounce and carry of the WACA. Spinners may be preferred over seamers.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) India versus Sri Lanka 6 points India most 6's @5/6 paddypower Sri Lanka are a team I like to take on in 6's match bets. We are not going to see many maximums in the match tomorrow and feel that India will clear the ropes more often than Sri Lanka. India played on this ground a couple days ago, so this is a bonus. In that game against the Aussies, India hit 3 6's and I feel even that low number tomorrow will bring in this bet.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) Game #5 India v Sri Lanka 1pt India win by 7-8 wickets or 76-99 runs 7.75 Centrebet If form is anything to go by India are finally pulling it together with building confidence and performances. They have a number of advantages this game. Firstly they are playing thier 2nd game at the Adelaide oval in 3 days so will be more familiar with the conditions. Secondly, conditions should suit them better with Adelaide often playing slower and lower than Perth, Malinga is likely to find it tougher and the Indian spinners should be well positioned to exert dominance in the bowling stakes. Gambhir, Tendulkar and Kohli all look to be finding good form, with Raina and Dhoni on the improve also. Only concern is if India get cocky or complacent and start playing loose shots, or chasing bonus points. That's why I've gone a speculator on the margin (to get the good price) rather than an outright bet at poor odds. If India play to thier formline they should win this easy and maintain thier reputation as "flat track bullies". 2pts India Highest Opening Partnership 1.83 Stan James Expecting Sehwag to be rested here and he has been a ticking timebomb at the crease all summer. Without him there is no "free wicket" for Sri Lanka and with Tendulkar/Gambhir likely to open the innings there will be two composed batsmen in reasonable form facing off the Sri Lankan pace attack which is likely to struggle in conditions not suited to pace or swing. Meanwhile, Tharanga has been dismissed for 4 and 5 in Sri Lankas first two games and looks like the weak link. Dilshan is also more than capable of getting out to a loose shot early. 1pt Tendulkar Top Indian Batsman 5.00 Stan James Expecting Tendulkar to return to the side and open the innings (see above). He should relish conditions and a softer opponent here and be able to put in a big performance. Gambhir may be a threat after the way he batted at this gound on Sunday, but I like Tendulkar to bat through the middle overs and show some real determination in this game. This could be his best chance of the summer to get his 100th ton. 0.5pt Tendulkar Man of The Match 11.00 SportingBet It was tempting to back Tendulkar to score a ton in this game at 9.00, but I figure that since everyone has been hanging out for him to get it all summer then if he gets it he will surely get the Man of The Match award. 3pts India Most Sixes 1.80 BetVictor Adelaide can be a tough venue to score sixes as it has some long boundaries. However it also has some shorter boundaries square of the wicket which can suit the wristy Indian batsmen. I also think there is a risk that India (particularly the younger players) may be a bit gung-ho in this game now that things are starting to go thier way. Sharma showed the other day that he can hit the square 6 and also be a bit reckless when it's not neccessary and Raina is similar. 0.5pt Prasad Most Sri Lankan Wickets 6.00 SportingBet My speculator is back. I don't think that Prasad is that bad, but he has struggled a bit in this tournament so far. He got an equal 5th share of this market against Australia the other day with 2 wickets and for the same reasons I'll back him again today. He is the type of bowler who the Indian batsmen might think they can take down. If the biggest risk of India losing is getting out to loose shots then this is one of the guys who is likely to be picking up those gift wickets. At the price he represents value for mine.

Re: Commonwealth Bank ODI Series (Australia/India/Sri Lanka) The other thing to bear in mind Tyler is there's no ties on top bowler's at Bet365 unless they concede the same number of runs :ok. Small loss for me in the last game which hopefully I can get back here. I'm taking 4. 3pts India Most 6's Evs Blue Square 4pts Sri Lanka - Under 2.5 6's 5/6 Ladbrokes I'm going with the same bet I took in the last Sri Lanka match. So far in two completed matches in this series Sri Lanka have hit just the one six and that was straight down the ground at Perth and as much as I like Angelo Mathews he ain't clearing the straight boundaries here unless the ball goes off the bat with a parachute on it. Yes the squarer boundaries are more accessible on this ground but I still don't foresee Sri Lanka hitting three sixes for a couple of reasons. Firstly their batting line up is largely out of form and secondly because they are under real pressure to win this match. I think they will look to play safe a lot of the times and the only way I can see them hitting a lot of 6's is if they have wickets in hand at the end. Even then though the Indian bowlers are bowling well and a more aggressive Australian batting line up could only hit 2 6's against this Indian attack on this ground on Sunday. I really don't see Sri Lanka hitting 3 out of the park here but I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Indian batsmen do. Their batting line up is going nicely and they are getting good starts from the top 3. In each of the last two matches one of the top three has batted a long time which has set the game up for the stroke players down the order, of which India have quite a few. India hit 3 6's in the last match on this ground and I would be surprised if 3 isn't enough in this match. I'll take India to hit the most 6's where one could easily be enough but I'll also take Sri Lanka not making it to 3 6's. 4pts A.Mathews' Performance Pts - 43&Over 5/6 Bet365 Points are scored as follows: 1pt per run, 10pts per catch & 20pts per wicket. Angelo Mathews has been good to me in this series so far and I'll take him to have another good game here. He has scored 73 and 104 in his two matches in this series and that makes me believe that this line is way too low. Angelo Mathews is one of the best one day batsmen around in the middle order and I fully expect him to go up the order to at least 6 in this match if not higher. He doesn't panic and he's one of those players who makes sure he plays himself in because he knows he will catch up later and really and truly he should have seen Sri Lanka home the other night but he slightly misjudged what was the final ball of the match. He's more than capable of covering 43 with the bat but if he doesn't then we know he's bowling in this series and bowling well too having taken two wickets in both matches so far. Throw in the chance of a catch coming his way and this 43 line really does look way too low. 1pt ew M.Dhoni Top India Batsman 7/1 Bodog (1/5 1,2,3) I really don't know how to describe Mahendra Singh Dhoni. I think he's the best finisher there has ever been in the game and I include Michael Bevan in that. He's just so calm and if he bats for 25 balls you may as well forget about it because he paces an innings so well. Whether it's chasing a target down or evaluating a wicket and setting a winning target he just knows how to do it and backs himself to achieve it. He played one of the all time great innings against this opposition in the World Cup final and I wouldn't be surprised if we see one just as good here. His heroics on this ground the other night will have given him even more confidence and belief and I firmly believe this is a big price for Dhoni who has already top scored for his country in this series as well as in one of the T20 matches too. When you talk ODI batsmen this guy trumps anything and I think at 7/1 he's definitely worth an each way bet with the form he's shown since he put the pyjamas on in this tour.
