Taking to consideration that this is first round of the season i took following picks: Illichevets v Karpaty Illichevets have been always funny team to me.they can be cold or hot-depends on their mood.Most of the players are young ukrainian lads come from Shakhtar on loan.Best striker Antonov left to Dnipro,6 new players and new ambitions for the season.Despite being lucky to stay in UPL this season they know how to score and can give fight to any team. Karpaty are slow starters.We had very good last season and i'm afraid we may look tired/overrated this season so i would be carefull in betting terms.We like to leak goals in away matches but also like to score.No big changes from last season.Still looking at new players. Last 4 matches ended: 2:3,2:2,1:5,1:2 My pick: over 2.5 @1.95 bet365 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dynamo K v Metalist Dynamo will be stronger then last year,i'm just sure they will.Diakate is back from loan,new guy Aruna,good keeper,balanced middfield...they only need 1 good center striker to buy.They started good season with win against Shakhtar and looking forwrd to bounce back and become champs this season. Metalist remains the same.I think the only change to be made is new manager.Despite being a good specialist M.Markevich is a bit oldschool man so for the last few yers Metalist still can't reach top 2.Argentininas are still adopting to UPL. Dynamo K. to win @1.66 bet365 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Arsenal v Dnipro I never liked Dnipro,nor their name or their style or players.For me it's a dull team who always breaks expectations.Ramos still have 3 years left to impress bosses and take Dnipro to CL.Meanwhile the let Seleznjov go to Shakhtar wich left them with small choice of strikers like Gladkiy,Gomenjuk(both out of form),Antonov(from Illichevets) and Matheus(who was out for 6 months).Luck of goals/leathal strikers and solid defence and middfiled make the team look boring. Arsenal had good start of the last season but fcuked up in the end.Now with new coach they are looking for a bright start again. @1.57 on Dnipro is way too short for me so i'm going with risky but value bet here: Arsenal +0.5AH @2.15 bet365 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Vorskla v Oleksandria Vorskla-Young,solid,hard working team playing ukrainian players that deserves respect.And i mean it.They will start Europa league in about 2 weeks time and this game could be a good warm up for them. Oleksandria came from lower devision this year and i expect them to go back there.They didn't make any signings,also they only gave players 9 days break between seasons.All this time they stayed at home town and never had any frendlies against top teams-only teams from even lower devisions them then.I just don't think they are ready for UPL. I completely agree on Olexandriya and think they are not the UPL-class team. However, I do not think Vorskla is as good as the 6th place suggests. They are kinda unstable and have more losses than wins. They are not taking advantage of the home field, last year they lost to Illichivets, Arsenal, Volyn, and Obolon @ home. Besides, the difference between 6th and 9th place was only 2 points, 6th and 11th - 5 points. Considering this I think 1.55 is too little. I was also considering total goals under 2.5, but 1.62 is not much better for a team that can score either 0 or 3-4. So my hope is Olexandriya is as weak as we think and Vorskla will win easily. Also odds on Vorskla jumped to @1.85 and i'm going to take it.I don't know why but similar happened to Dynamo few days ago and Dynamo still won even with handicap. Mahno Posted July 8, 2011 Share Posted July 8, 2011 Re: Ukraine Premier League 2011 Since Ukraine is not one of the top championships and not everyone is familiar with it Em,i would not agree here.I know we are not TOP TOP but still we share 6th Spot with Russia in Europe Club Ranking.Above us are only EPL,Bundes,La Liga,Series A,League 1 France and Portugal.We have 2 teams in CL and 4 in Europa-that's alot.Russian and Ukraine leagues are the strongest and the richest leagues in Eastern Europe.but for some raeson bookies don't give us many markets(betting wise).When you take leagues 1-2 level bellow us like:Funland,Iceland,Slovenia,Slovakia,Hungry etc you will find them with much more markets available then us.i wonder why? Metallist might be struggling both at front (even more) and defending for they've lost Oleyinik and Taison. Shakhtar and Dynamo showed their losses may be replenished by other players so i can't say absence of Jadson or those from Dynamo who are out for a long time or even Shevchenko (though he's rather goinna play) are critical for any of them. And besides they had a good warm-up so the first round are not actually the first. No supporters at Dynamo stadium, but i think that can be neglected.
