MattyNeth
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Lead up to 300 now. England 489-5. When will the declaration come? pitch still looks good, but surely they'll want 30 minutes tonight at them?
MattyNeth
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Well here we go then. England have just declared - South Africa need 378 to win in a day and a few overs tonight
GETT1NLOTS
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Absolutely amazing effort by England. I think we will skittle them out for under 250 tomorrow.
PAULM03
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Awesome effort by the England boys, i've always taken the tabloid calls of 'bring on the Aussies' with a pinch of salt in the past but if we can pull this off against SA we can do anything against anyone. MattyNeth
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Current odds on Betfair at the end of Day 4 South Africa 28.0 Draw 2.16 England 1.
PAULM03
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Surely the draw's value on this wicket? I'm having a piece of that.
PAULM03
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test currently on betfair draw is 2.1 and england are 2.0, given that SA WILL NOT make the runs tomorrow, the draw is a risk free bet
ONEDUNME
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test I doubt the SA can last out all day unless there's some rain. Ill take England even at odds on. It should be all over for 2 oclock
GETT1NLOTS
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test If the weather holds out I can't see South Africa doing so. I'm no expert on Cricket (although I like watching England) but it seems very rare to me that a team manages to hold out for a draw in these kind of situations. Weather report permitting I would back England at Evens and consider it a value bet.
jeffers
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test I agree - huge value on England here (as gett1n says, weather permitting). We have one of the best bowling attacks around now, and with this South African lineup, you get the 2 big boys out (Smith & Kallis) and you've broken the back of it. Correct score bet, England to win by 174 runs :nana
Pie-chucker
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Kaffirs have got to score at 3.88 runs per over, over 92 overs, to win. Indeed, no chance.
MattyNeth
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test England started well with the wicket of the nightwatchman early on. 36-2, cannot see South Africa even attempting to go for this, despite what their coach was saying. GETT1NLOTS
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Kallis is out ofr 10 just before Lunch putting SA on 104 - 4 Looks like England could make it 9 test wins on the run! :hope :hope
PAULM03
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test I can't believe this, it just makes englands 2nd innings all the more awesome. I looked at it from a different point of view, SA just had to bat out a day on a lifeless wicket on their home ground. 2.1 looked value. evtherev
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test had a 10er on SA to win earlier today at 20's, was hoping kallis would get a few then at least i could lay at a lower price on betfair to make a small profit. The draw looks good value, these 2 can bat, but if a wicket falls, its all but over..... Evan
MattyNeth
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test They need about 150 in one session. Getable, De Villiers and Pollock are no mugs. I haven't access to my betting accounts, but would imagine draw and England win are pretty much what they were at the start of today. Still could be either, though I would favour an England win - just hope the bowlers arn't too tired
PAULM03
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test 2.9 draw, 1.52 england at the minute on BF
MattyNeth
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Cheers Paul. Game looks to have swung to England. Finally the De Villiers/Pollock partnership broken due to a run out. England need 2 wickets, South Africa need 100 runs, and there's 15 overs left:hope
3hree
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test help, i dont understand cricket but i lumped a load on england to win, they've gone off for bad light. says on itv match drawn, so have i lost? is it void?! evtherev
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test well, i would say that if (in 15 minutes) when the umpires come on and have another look, the light is still the same, or worse, then it will be called a draw. It does look pretty gloomy, but ya never know. At the moment, the england players are still on the pitch, and they could still come on and play if the light improves Evan
MattyNeth
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test There's still 15 overs left as well:\ Jonny - doesn't look good for you unfortunately. It will be called a draw and not void. I think it's pretty certain that if they do get back on, 15 overs will not be bowled - it's going to be a lot less
3hree
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Cheers guys, it never really looks good for me! oh well, i'l go on betfair see what others have lost and console myself :wall i'll stick to the footy in future! cheers
MattyNeth
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test It's still not over But the light has deteriorated further, and the umpires will check again in a further 15 minutes. England have gone off the field, though, and the game is all but over.
MattyNeth
Re: South Africa v England - 2nd test Match drawn That's it. Incredibly frustrating for England, but they'd have taken this three days ago.
