Re: Argentina Primera Division 2011 Thread thanks...i love to bet in this league, as a rule at local have excellent odds for Argentines. let's go lads! :hope Estudiantes v Newell's Old Boys Estudiantes is the current champion of the first half of the season - Apertura. Then, they were very convincing in their ground because they won all nine matches and conceded only one goal. Newells finished in ninth place and were most inefficient team in the league, with just one win on the road (from nine games). Students have a good record against today's opponent, 6-5-1 at home. Estudiantes during the break: team left Rojo (regular DF) who went to Russia, as well as a coach Sabella who left the team a day before the start Clausura. New coach is Berizzo (former assistant selection Chile) whom this will be the first solo work. Newels during the break: team left two regulars Alazes (DF) in Chile and Formica (FW) in England. probable formations Estudiantes: Orion; Fernández, Desábato, Re; Mercado, Matías Sánchez (Barrientos), Veron, N. Benítez; Enzo Pérez, Gastón Fernández, L. Benítez. Newell's: Peratta; Fuentes, Schiavi, Lema; Luciano Vella, Mateo, Bernardi, Estigarribia; Sperdutti, Bieler, Rodríguez. Estudiantes @1.75 5/10 draw / Estudiantes @4.30 1/10

Re: Argentina Primera Division 2011 Thread Independiente v Velez Derby of first round is play tonight. Winner of Copa Sudamericana welcomes local rival and vice-champion of Apertura. The worst home side against the best away side of Apertura. Distance is about only 10 km. Mohamed's team is exhausted by playing in two competitions. They brought three very fast players (two will debut) and club has left Pacheco (back up FW). Velez has made more changes: most important departure is Somoza (regular MF) transfer in Boca Juniors. But team added a strong veteran Guillermo Franco (FW) and Ramirez (MF, best player of Godoy Cruz). Gareca, coach of team from Sarsfield has problems with injured players: Zapata (regular MF) is out, Martinez (key MF) is tired and Domínguez (regular DF) is doubtful. probable formations Independiente >>> Navarro - Vélez, Matheu, J. Velázquez, M. Velázquez - Cabrera, Battión, Mareque - Defederico - Parra (Nunes) y Silvera. Vélez >>> Barovero - Cubero, Tobi (Domínguez), Ortiz, Papa - Fernández, Razzotti, Bella - Ramírez - Moralez y Silva. Velez (dnb) @1.80 4/10

Re: Argentina Primera Division 2011 Thread Mate, good picks, but just a couple of corrections, just FYI for future picks : * Velez - Independiente is no derby at all. More than 80% of the teams in this league are from Buenos Aires or very close neighborhoods so of course not all games are derbies. * Sarsfield is not a place, just part of the name of the team. * Velez didn't make that many changes. Only regular that left is Somoza. Cristaldo was a good player, but a reserve. * Independiente wasn't exahusted of anything because they didn't play during the week and are not playing in this one either on Copa Libertadores. Actually Velez is playing this week. * Sabella left Estudiantes 1 week before the start of Clausura, not one day. Anyway, good luck with yout picks in this league :ok

Re: Argentina Primera Division 2011 Thread Lanus v Arsenal Sarandi Lanus is one of three teams (along with Godoy Cruz & Colon) that had better performance on the road than at home in Apertura. Team left a few regular and back-up players Blanco (mf), Grana (df), Aguirre (mf) and Salcedo (fw), but they managed to brought good quality replacements: a returnee from Europe – Valeri (mf) and experienced players Camoranesi (mf) and Carranza (fw). The most experienced defender Hoyos is suspended for this match. Caranta - Erramuspe (Araujo), Goltz, Izquierdoz, Lugo - Ledesma, Pelettieri, Pizarro - Valeri, Regueiro - Castillejos. Arsenal have played quite well first part of the season where finished in third place with four points more than Lanus. They haven’t made some important changes of players, perhaps only noteworthy change is in the midfield – Leiva (regular) is gone and Caffa (from Betis) is in. However, a few standard players aren’t with team: Nervo (df) and Mosca (mf) are in young Argentina NT, Aguilar (df) is injured, while Leguizamon (fw) is doubtful. Campestrini - Alvarez, Lopez, Boggino, Krupoviesa - Franzoia, Ortiz, Marcone, Caffa - Alustiza, Obolo. The first half a draw was in the 66% Apertura games (Lanus home / Arsenal away) and home team has better players on the bench for this duel. gl Lanus @2.15 5/10 draw / Lanus @5.50 1/10

Re: Argentina Primera Division 2011 Thread Huracan v Argentinos Juniors Huracan played very poorly in the first half of the season (they had the worst goal difference in the league). During the break they brought four players from abroad and it’s expected that all have debut tonight (Cámpora, Guerra, Maidana, Quiroga). Only one member of the first eleven (Rodríguez) has gone from team. First goalkeeper Monzon is suspended for this match and Batttaglia was with u20 Argentina team and he is doubtful. Calviño - F. Quiroga, Filipetto, Quintana, Lemos - Machín, Ojeda, M. Quiroga (Battaglia) – Maidana - Cámpora, Guerra. Arg. Juniors were little better in Aperture, and had eight points more than today's opponents. They had a competitive match in Brazil five days ago and achieved a good result, 2-2 against Fluminense in Libertadores Cup premiere. Team has left only Ortigoza of important players. They weren’t too far even with the new faces, came only three average players (Salcedo is one from line-up). First goalkeeper Navarro is doubtful, but Mercier (regular mf) is again ready for match. Navarro (Ojeda) - Sabia, Torrén, Gentiletti - Prósperi, Basualdo, Mercier, Escudero - Oberman - Niell, Salcedo. When Huracan been host against Juniors, all 5 times was seen at least three goals. Since both teams have problems with goalkeepers this time and expect over here. over 2,5 @2.30 Bet 365 2/10

Re: Argentina Primera Division 2011 Thread Wow - I had overs on the Lanus Vs Arsenal game, which was a steaming bag of turd from a quality standpoint until the first goal went in, then both teams seemed to wake up. Amazing equalizer for Arsenal - 30 yard freekick from new signing Caffa. Cameo of the night goes to Camoranesi (former Juventus player for those who have lived under a rock!) who came on with 10 minutes to go for Lanus - then beautifully set up the third in the 91st min for Reguiero. Love the last minute overs - had a few this weekend! Good picks for the Lanus win McNasara - well done with excellent analysis - also fella' dont worry that you dont have local knowledge, as this isn't always key. I am from England - yet for the last 5 years of betting my profit is on South/Latin American football, and not English! Keep up the good work. I have been to BA on holiday, though it was during the WC last year (go figure - Argentina had just been knocked out of the tournament - and it was the off-season, sods law!). I can't have the best local knowledge, but here is Ciclon let us to correct what is a good thing. But mostly because of great odds at my local, I am still here. Profit is imperative, cheers fella!

Re: Argentina Primera Division 2011 Thread hello guys, im new to this page, i found this page from a other forum. my area of expertise are south american football, specially the argentinian league. i try to give you as much informations and thoughts from me as i can, in the end i hope it will work out. im also running a blogabet page, if some of you are intressted, just drop me a line. regards gimnasia - olimpo gimnasia who plays for at least a relegation place didnt showed much against their opening game with san lorenzo. hometeam dominated the game but wasnt able to make their 2nd goal. in the end a good pass by Guillermo Barros Schelottowas enough to get a penalty and made the 1:1. Olimpo are also happy with their opening day performance in their fight against relegation -- a 2-1 home win against Banfield -- but will still have midfielder Diego Galvan suspended. Gimnasia LP is embedded in the playoff relegation zone and Olimpo in the direct relegation zone and both teams need a lot of points badly to move out. Both made solid starts with a home win for Olimpo and an away draw for Gimnasia even if the latter were lucky because their equalizer came from an invented penalty. This will be a direct confrontation between 2 teams who badly need points to make a big step out the the relegation places. i guess it will be a tight match but with the home advantage gimnasia are able to win this game. worth a shot for me. gimnasia @2.09 pinnacle 4/10

Re: Argentina Primera Division 2011 Thread Racing Club - Boca Juniors Probably the match of the Weekend. Biggest news for Racing were that Midfielder Giovanni Moreno, Racing Club's best player (and arguably the best during the Apertura Championship) was violently fouled by All Boys' Hugo Barrientos in last week's match and has torn ligaments which will keep him out for at least six months, missing the entire Clausura Championship and playing for Colombia in the South American Championship (Copa America) in July. They already try to find a replacement for giovanni but havent found someone similiar with his skills. They will also miss midfielder Patricio Toranzo (injured in training) for three weeks, while his replacement, Luis Farina is also injured. Boca Juniors were shocked by their surprise 4-1 home defeat in which young goalkeeper Javier Garcia was at fault on two occasions, but as coach Julio Falcioni said, Boca defended badly. Yet he is thinking of giving Garcia another chance or replaces him by the more experienced Cristian Lucchetti. Injured defender Cristian Calay is back in training and could be used. Striker Sergio Araujo returned with the U-20 national team and says he is fit and ready to play although striker Pablo Mouche was the best player last week and veteran Martin Palermo seems unmovable. The new midfield lineup of Walter Erviti, Juan Roman Riquelme and Leandro Somoza was not bad, but Erviti has to serve a one-match suspension from the Apertura with Banfield and could be replaced by Diego Rivero (from San Lorenzo) who did well in warm-up games. In the classic match of the round, Boca Juniors may not play as badly again as last week when they lost 4-1 at home even if the home advantage at avellaneda is very huge. Racing will miss a lot of player from the first 11 (Matias Cahais, Claudio Yacob, Patricio Toranzo, Luis Farina) and Boca seems to be very motivated to get their first points of this young clausura championship. All in all i think we will see some goals here, Boca with a lot of experience players in their attack. Racing will try as much as they can to repeat their winning streak from the opeing game at floresta. But i dont think it will be enough. Odds are great, even for the ahc. Boca +0 @1.91 wh 5/10 Boca @ 2.78 pinn 2/10 over 2.5 @2.2 wh 2/10

Re: Argentina Primera Division 2011 Thread :welcome pasion latina Although I'm Spanish, I like very much sudamerican football too and most of its tournaments. pasion latina, don't you think could be a good option the victory of River Plate against Huracan? For me this could be the most "clear" pick of the day in Argentina. What's your opinion about it? I'm interested in the link of your blogabet too

hey carovie, nice to meet you as well :) jep, river still need any point they can get, they are still not through, with their first home game this season they should definitely win this game, i will write my thoughts later, probably ill play they -1 if odds are alright, just wait a bit :) edit: but dont think that their is any "clear" game in argentina, there are never easy ones, just like boca - godoy last week. though league to predict, but for me the best league in the world ;)
