  1. Re: Rugby League: Super League XVI Ante-post bets and discussion The stand out bet for me is Pat Richards to be top points scorer for the season, he topped all three charts last year (tries/kicks/overall) and I can't see Wigan not being top or up there this season. And sticking with the Wigan theme I'm going for Sam Tompkins to receive the Man of Steel award, won the young player of the year last year and no reason why he can't win the senior version this year. Pat Richards top points scorer 7/2 @Skybet Sam Tomkins Man of Steel 8/1 @Skybet

  2. Re: UFC 121 Not looking past the lesser known UFC 120 card this weekend, lesser known in the fact that the US couldn't give a damn about it, no ppv and a main event a week later, they're treating it as a normal fight night, doing the same in Germany in November. Going for Hardy v Condit to be fight of the night, both fighters are go forward fighters, Condit has the edge on the floor with his submissions but as we saw with Gsp, Hardy is very hard to sub. Hardy has been working on his wrestling in the US and will be looking to keep this one standing with them both swinging. Hardy v Condit Fight of the night 9/4 @Skybet

  3. Re: Ufc Fightnight 21 I don't think Gomi is the same fighter he was a few years back and he seems to have lost his way a bit, rumours of lazy training camps in his last few fights. I can see Florian winning this by his favoured method of a rear naked choke after dishing out his lethal elbows for a while. Roy Nelson is so often underestimated by so many people, I can't see Struve subbing him, I know he has a lot of wins that way but Nelson is a top level BJJ guy, you don't get a Renzo Gracie black belt the easy way. I can see Nelson doing what he did to Schaub and knocking him out probably first round when Struve is hunting him. Jorge Rivera is a guy whose clinch game i really like and it will be a cracker of a fight, with Rivera winning, not sure how, would love to see him stop Quarry but it'll probably go to a decision. The final fight on the main card will be good to watch, 2 strikers having a go at each other and i think that Pearsons terrier like attitude and varied strikes will lead him to a tko victory in round 2.

  4. Re: Ufc 111

Got to say Carwin will beat Mir, reminds me of the match up in Ufc38 with Ian Freeman, Where Freemans go forward non stop style wore Mir down quickly, granted it wasn't the same Mir as now but the same stylistic match up is still there. Carwins power will be too much for Mir and I think it will be over in the 1st round with Carwin Knocking out Mir ( I hope not though, would love to see them go at it for 3 rounds). Gsp will have far too much for Dan Hardy, I really like Hardy but think this is a shot too early, Hardy hasn't fought anyone with the take down wrestling skills of Gsp and will find out what ground and pound means. I can only hope that he catches Gsp with a lucky one, but can see Gsp ending this in the 2nd via Tko/stoppage. The Jim Miller/Mark Bocek has the potential to be a great Bjj fight (both fighters have nearly all there wins via submission) or a drawn out stand up match. Bocek's Bjj is slightly better than Miller's but Miller has the better takedowns so it's going to be a very interesting match up, the Gambler in me says Miller to get the win, but it's a tricky one to call. Thiago Alves is out of UFC 111 due to a irregularity seen on a cat scan he recently had. In steps Ben Saunders to fight Jon Fitch, i think Fitch will have too much in all departments and it could be a bad move for Saunders to ask to be Alves stand in. No odds about that i can see but i'd make Fitch a big odds favourite and rightly so.
A couple right, didn't go on Fitch, didn't even look for a price. Looking forward to Gomi v Florian on Wednesday!!

The Fitch/Alves fight really interests me, Fitch coming in on the back of a 4 win streak, he has 1 loss in the last 20 (to Gsp) and has beaten Alves in 2006 who himself is trying to bounce back after his beating by Gsp. If either loses this they're going to find it hard to get another shot at Gsp so i'm going to take Alves to grind it out against Fitch and take a very close decision. (Could well be fight of the night) The Jim Miller/Mark Bocek has the potential to be a great Bjj fight (both fighters have nearly all there wins via submission) or a drawn out stand up match. 7. Re: Rugby League: Super League XV - Round 3 & NR Cup Got to agree with Kev on the Orford anytime price, very good value for a very tricky player. I fancy Cas to beat Bradford but am staying away from the handicaps for the time being, and going to stick with my anytime scorers. Tonight it's Joe Westerman the Tigers loose forward has gone over in both super league games so far, both against better opposition than he's facing tonight. Joe Westerman anytime tryscorer 2/1 @Skybet

  8. Re: Rugby League: Super League XV - Round 2 & NR Cup Going for the anytime scorer market again, going to go with George Carmont, a big centre that causes most teams problems, can see Wigan winning by 10-14 points and think he'll be amoung the scorers come the final whistle. He scored against Hull Kr last season and again in pre season this year. Anytime tryscorer George Carmont 11/8 @ Bet365

  9. Re: Rugby League: Super League XV - 1st matches & NR Cup Fancy Jamie Jones-Buchanan to score tonight, he had his best try scoring season last season and i expect him to continue with the go forward attitude of last year. As Greenhoff has said the Crusaders will be up for it early doors but may well wither allowing a forward to take advantage of a tiring team. Jamie Jones-Buchanan anytime tryscorer 5/2 Stan James
