Re: UFC Fight Night Some nice shouts there, Welcome to PuntersLounge :ok

Re: Fantasy NFL 2013 I'll play if that's ok? I've only been following the sport a couple of seasons so don't have that much knowledge (yet), really looking forward to the start of the season.

Re: Fantasy Premier League - PuntersLounge £10 Entry League 2013/14 I'm in like always, pm me for a bank transfer please m8 Team: Just like Cream Cheers.

Re: Super League 2013 - Round 7 I'm picking a player who surprisingly hasn't scored yet this season, Rob Burrow has been the scourge of Super League defences for a few years now. However, this year I don't think he's quite clicked into gear and got going. Against Wigan Leeds should have a noticeable advantage in the forwards, hopefully allowing Burrow the room to work. He's always on hand to support a break and I believe he'll open his try scoring account tonight. Rob Burrow anytime scorer 9/4 @ Skybet

Re: Super League 2013 - Round 6 I'm going to stick with a forward for tonight's game. Cory Paterson has a pretty impressive scoring record throughout his career with a try every 3 games or so, he seems to be the main go forward guy for Hull KR, making breaks and tackles and generally being in the right place at the right time. London have struggled keeping teams at bay and I believe Hull KR will cross the line a few times and hopefully Paterson will grab one of them. Cory Paterson anytime scorer 9/4 @ Skybet

Re: Super League 2013 - Round 6 Nice call on Saints Kev :clap Think I was a bit too speculative on Laffranchi, ah well there's always tomorrow's game to find a winner :ok
-
Re: Super League 2013 - Round 6 Normally backing props to score anytime isn't the best way to go and the prices offered by the bookies reflect this. Anthony Laffranchi however is tempting me, he's a 2nd rower/utility forward playing at prop, he's a very consistent player for Saints, and this game could well be settled by the forwards. He's scored at all levels in his career and has crossed for 2 all ready this season. My only real concern is with the interchanges but i'm going to stick with my gut instinct and hope to see him cross in the first 30 mins before he has a breather. Anthony Laffranchi to score anytime 4/1 @ Skybet

Re: Super League 2013 - Round 5 Cheers Kev, was a great call on Leeds too :clap

Re: Super League 2013 - Round 5 Jonny Lomax playing at full back is a big plus for Saints, his support play and ability to join the line is top draw as shown by his hat trick against Bradford lat week. The Rhino's defense is of course stronger than Bradford's but I think there's value for a quick footed player that may have found a new position to play. Jonny Lomax anytime scorer 2/1 @ Skybet

Re: Super League 2013 - Round 4 & World Club Challenge Really looking forward to tonight's game and I'm going for 2 players who don't usually score many tries but are big game players, Kevin Sinfield and Cameron Smith are 2 of the best players in their position in the world and it wouldn't surprise me to see either of the captains set an example and cross the line, leading their team from the front. Kevin Sinfield anytime scorer 4/1 @ Skybet Cameron Smith anytime scorer 7/2 @Skybet

Re: Super League 2013 - Round 3 Taking the Catalan full back Brent Webb to score anytime tonight. He seems to be back to his attacking best, been getting a lot of carries and making a lot of meters in the process, always willing to join the line and very good at breaking the first tackle. Also having a small bet on him to score the 1st try, don't normally take this kind of bet anymore but Webb likes to get forward and involved too much to ignore. Brent Webb anytime scorer 11/8 @ Skybet Brent Webb 1st try scorer 14/1 @ Skybet

Re: Super League 2013 - Round 2 Cheers Kev :ok Tonight I fancy a bit of an outsider to score, although it's the same price as my last one I'm only half as confident. Dale Ferguson has been loaned out to Hull KR for the month, Huddersfield have a big well stocked pack and he missed out last week v Saints and like every good player he wants to play each week. Hull KR are a few players away from fielding a full strength team and Ferguson will help plug a gap, he's no stranger to crossing the whitewash and will be playing with a big point to prove to Huddersfield and his old club Wakefield. Dale Ferguson anytime scorer 5/2 @ Skybet

Re: Super League 2013 - Round 2 Taking a Wigan player in the anytime scorer market. They may have been flattered by the scoreline v Salford but Liam Farrell is a player that I feel can get yards against most defences, he get's a lot of the ball, breaks tackles and gets himself in good tryscoring positions. Liam Farrell anytime scorer 5/2 @ Skybet

Re: Super League 2013 - Round 1 Well with Ellis sadly out Iv'e jumped on a big price change from Skybet and taken Joel Moon to score anytime, a very powerful back that will take some stopping. Joel Moon Anytime scorer 5/4 @ Skybet
-
Re: Super League 2013 - Round 1 I can see the Leeds Hull game being a very close hard fought season opener for both teams. I'm looking forward to seeing Joel Moon at centre for Leeds. I tipped him at Salford as one to watch regarding anytime tryscorers and I can only see his chances of scoring improving at Leeds but at 11/10 he's a bit short for me today. I'm plumping for a ex Leeds player in Gareth Ellis, while not a scorer of a lot of tries in his career he's no stranger to crossing the line and I believe his return from Australia and his first game being at Headingley points to him scoring. Gareth Ellis Anytime scorer 4/1 @ Skybet

Re: Korean Grand Prix I believe there's been a safety car out at both the other Korean Gp's and I see no reason there won't be this time, some corners giving drivers problems and some drivers causing other drivers problems.. Safety car Yes 5/6 @ Ladbrokes

Re: Stobart Super League XVII - Playoffs Just a couple for fun for me, Briers to score a drop goal in the last 5 minutes has been offered at 14/1 with Skybet under the twitter specials list, if the scores are close and there is only 6 or so points in the game he's the man to take the one pointer as we have seen many times over the past few years. Under the same Skybet offer they've offered a try after 77 min at 8/1, again if its a close game or even a rout there's going to be tired players at this stage and it's not inconceivable that either team can score late on. Lee Briers to drop a goal in the last 5 mins 14/1 @ Skybet A try to be scored after 77 mins 8/1 @ Skybet And good luck with Waterhouse Kev, he's come in before for me and is a great price to score anytime.

Re: ufc 148 Really looking forward to this event, a good card of fights. Tito Ortiz v Forrest Griffin has the potential to be fight of the night, their first fight won fight of the year in 2006 and the 2nd meeting was again an all out war, each fighter has one win and it's Tito's last fight after a very successful career, he'll want to go out with a win but Forrest is looking to get back on track after a loss to Shogun last year, both will be going for the win and it should be one hell of a fight. Dong-Hyun Kim v Demian Maia will be a battle of endurance, Maia's switch to welterweight saw him gas badly in the 3rd round against Weidman and lose a split decision (should've been a unanimous loss), Kim has been around a while now and will use his world class judo to keep this fight on it's feet, normally he wouldn't have to do that against Maia as he has ditched his bjj game for a striking style in his last half dozen or so fights but talk is that he's going back to his roots and going to take this fight to the floor for a finish. This will take a lot out of him if he can't take down and keep down Kim. Tito Ortiz v Forrest Griffin Fight Of The Night 9/2 @ Skybet Kim to win via Decision 6/5 @ Skybet

Re: ufc 146 opinions I can't resist a bit of Frank Mir action, the price of 4/1 is just too big to ignore, sure Mir ducks as he punches leaving himself open to a JDS uppercut, he was in mighty trouble with big Nog until big Nog went for the sub instead of the G n P finish. I just can't rule out Mir who is still improving and may surprise a few people tonight. Frank Mir to win 4/1 @ Skybet

Re: UFC on FOX 3 Levar Johnson did get KO of the night, didn't look for the odds though :( http://www.cagedinsider.com/ufc/ufc-of-fox-3-fight-bonuses/

Re: UFC on FOX 3 Well it was a good night of fights, Belcher and Diaz both looked awesome winning dominantly. Palhares was maybe 1 inch away from getting me a nice payout but fair play to Belcher for staying calm and cool and getting out of the position. The Koscheck fight could've gone either way, I personally had it 1st and 3rd rounds to him but can't really complain as Hendricks did land more shots. Luckily my late addition of Johnson saved me from a night of loses.
-
Re: UFC on FOX 3 Decided to add another one. Pat Barry v Lavar Johnson is going to be a barn stormer, both men are strikers with the technical edge going to Barry and the power going to Johnson. Barry will try to work his way in with leg kicks but I don't think it'll work for him, Johnson has refined his boxing style and the slight stance change he's made will be perfect to catch Barry coming in. Lavar Johnson to win by KO/TKO 23/10 @ Paddy Power You can get a safer 17/10 on Johnson to win but I don't think it'll get past the 2nd round and he won't sub Barry, possibly KO of the night too.

Another night of great fights is planned for Saturday the 5th May, the main event is Nate Diaz v Jim Miller. This is one hell of a match up with the winner getting a shot at the 155lb title. Diaz's last 2 fights have been the best performances of his career, especially the pick apart demolition of Cerrone, but I think his weakness is his wrestling, his Bjj is top class but he's struggled in the past against top wrestlers, Miller is a top wrestler who won't stand in front of Diaz taking the shots Cerrone did, it's a battle of Diaz's reach against Millers takedowns/wrestling and I have the slight edge going to Miller (and it is only slight). This is over 5 rounds but cardio won't be a problem, both fighters are cardio machines and are very hard to finish, leading me to Miller on points. Josh Koscheck faces Johny Hendricks in what maybe his last chance to put himself in with a chance of a title run, both have wrestling titles, Koscheck is a 4 time all American and Hendricks is a 2 time NCAA champion. Usually when you get 2 top wrestlers it leads to a stand up war and this will be no different, both guys use their wrestling in reverse to stay standing, Koscheck has the experience to stay away from Hendricks raw power and he has a more diverse stand up game, he will have learned from watching Hendricks KO his team mate Fitch. I think if it goes to the ground Koscheck has the advantage and although not a bjj star he has won by submission before, and should be able to control Hendricks and take the decision win. The final fight is one I'm really looking forward to, Rousimar Palhares is one of the most explosive fighters of any division, he's been taking limbs home for fun and is touted as the one fighter no one wants to fight. Alan Belcher has stepped up to the challenge, he's been out of the game with injury for a long time (8 months) so maybe a little ring rusty, although he's a bjj black belt he's no match for Palhares and I think the price of evens for a sub win is quite generous. I also fancy Palhares to get this over with fast, he'll throw his looping right hand and take Belchers left leg home with him in the first round. Jim Miller win by decision Evs @ Ladbrokes Josh Koshceck win by decision 2/1 @ Ladbrokes Rousimar Palhares to win by submission Evs @ Ladbrokes Rousimar Palhares to win in the 1st round 11/4 @ Paddy Power

Re: Super League 2013 - Playoffs week 2 Just a quick one from me, Ryan Hall to score at anytime is at Evs, that's the best price he's been all season at home, he's always odds on. I don't think much in the way of reasoning is needed here, a great price for a winger that is a threat in every game and has the ability to stretch the Saints backline, scoring twice in the fixture at Headingley earlier in the season. Ryan Hall to score at anytime Evs @ Skybet
