  1. Re: Ufc on Fox2

an accy for fun of Evans' date=' Sonnen, Weidman, Dunham, and Russow @ around 6/1 with Ladbrokes[/quote'] A very nice win, some disappointing fights through the night for me, my calls were way off! Ah well Ufc back Saturday 4th Feb so a chance to redeem myself.
  2. This event on Saturday is a triple header main card:- [h=3]Main card[/h]

I'm going to be taking Davis to beat Evans, I think it's a big step up for him but one he's ready for, Evans won't be able to out strike or out wrestle him and I can't see Davis losing his unbeaten record. The Maia Weidman match up is a strange one to call, Maia's stand up has improved loads over the last few fights but I think it's his main bread and butter bjj skills that he needs to utilize, Weidman is a wrestling stand out who can knock people out so I expect a few takedowns from both parties, and I can see Maia catching him at some point. The Sonnen Bisping match up will go one of 2 ways, Sonnen by decision or Tko, he's only ever lost to submissions before and from the fights I've seen never lost a round in all his fights. Bisping reckons he can handle Sonnens wrestling but I have my doubts over that, his takedowns won't be stopped and if Bisping gets to his feet he'll be slammed back down. Davis to win 6/4 @ Skybet Maia to win by Submission 6/1 @ Skybet Sonnen to win by decision 8/11 and a small stake on win by Tko/Ko stoppage 9/2 @ Skybet

  3. Re: UFC 141

I agree with that statement my friend' date=' gonna wait though and see if anyone else offers better odds on FOTN, 2/1 is a bit short atm[/quote'] Yeah I thought that too, though winning any mma bet over evens is usually a good win :)
  4. Re: UFC 141 Usually bookies have things pretty much bang on odds wise but I feel they've written Matyushenko off as a no hoper, he's a much bigger threat than his odds show. He's only lost 2 of 7 (to Jon Jones and little Nog), you can go further back with those 2 losses his only in his last 15 fights. Gustafsson is rightly bookies fave, young and on the up, though his last win v Hamill isn't as impressive as it could be as Hamill was on the slide and promptly retired after the fight, the only real test he's had was against Phil Davis which he lost. Matyushenko to win 11/4 @ bet365

  5. Re: UFC 141 This for me is a main event to watch and not bet on, Lesnar v Overeem will go one of 2 ways, Overeem will catch him early or Lesnar will stick him on his back and drain Overeems suspect cardio, he won't be able to get up, his only hope is catching Lesnar with a guillotine on the way in but Lesnar doesn't shoot low so should avoid that. The only match worth betting on for me is Diaz v Cerrone, it's going to be a war and fight of the night, there's been a build up of animosity for a few years now and with Diaz dropping back to 155 he'll be more than a test for the cowboy. Diaz v Cerrone fight of the night 2/1 @ Hills

  6. Re: UFC 139 Looking forward to this event, Hendo v Rua is a bit of a funny one, Rua always has a bad fight, surgery then a good fight, but hasn't strung 2 together for a long time. I'm hoping he's fit for this as I think he has the edge in most deptartments, his stand up is way better than Hendo's, who lets face it only has his big right hand and I'm sure Rua's bjj will see him right on the ground, remember Shields had Hendo in soo much trouble on the ground in strikeforce. Hendo's a hard man to stop (as has been said earlier) but so was Machida, going to take Rua by stoppage. Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua to win by Tko/Ko stoppage 6/5

  7. Re: England: Carling Cup Sept 20-21 Taking Dimitar Berbatov to score anytime V Leeds. I think the team that Sir Alex is going to put out will be able to break down the Leeds defence almost at will and maybe Leeds will be trying too hard to win at home, Berbatov will be looking to stake a claim in the 1st team and I think he will work hard tonight for the team. Dimitar Berbatov to score anytime Evs @ Skybet

  8. Re: Ufc 132

The main event between Dominic Cruz and Urijah Faber is a close one but not uncallable, Faber beat Cruz in 2007 and handed him his only defeat to date (17-1), Cruz is a different fighter since then, improving his all round game, it's his quick feet and movement that will win him this fight, Jose Aldo destroyed Fabers lead leg and Cruz has the speed to be in and out and do the same thing before Faber can take him down. Dominic Cruz to win by Decision 13/8 @Skybet Wanderlei Silva makes his comeback after 18 months off due to surgery to face Chris Leben. Leben is a very heavy puncher, with a particularly nasty left hook, Wanderlei's chin ain't what it used to where as Leben seems to have a chin of stone taking some huge shots and still coming forward. I wouldn't normally bet when Wanderlei is fighting due to him being my favorite fighter but I just think with the two of them stood in the pocket swinging for the fences it's Wanderlei's chin that will go first (like the Rampage Jackson fight), I'm hoping he can win if he does it will be by decision though. Chris Leben to win by TKO/KO stoppage 7/2 @Skybet (Really hoping Wanderlei wins this, but this will help if he doesn't)
Well both bang on, perfect tips as far as the fights went (have to quote it as I don't often tip)

  10. I know there's a few Mma fans on here so thought I'd stick my pick up for this event. Alistair Overeem v Fabricio Werdum I'm taking Overeem to win in the 1st round, He's the better striker, the stronger man, (he threw Brett Rogers around like a rag doll) and I don't think Werdum will be able to out muscle him in the clinch either. The key is Overeems knees and uppercuts, timed right on the incoming/ducking chin of Werdum and it's lights out. Werdum won't want to stand for long so the chance will be there. All of his last 8 wins (on a 9 fight win streak) have been in the 1st round. Alistair Overeem to win in Rnd 1 9/4 @ Skybet
