  1. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIII - Round 7

Fair enough the Wire have a 100% home record this season and the Giants have yet to win away from home....I still cant help to think that Huddersfield +12pts is too big...& the 4.33 for the away win can't be sniffed at. more to follow on this... :ok
Not sure on Huddersfield myself, they couldn't score vs Harlequins who Leeds put 48 past, but they stuck 64 past Cas who in turn beat Leeds. Hmm, would fancy Warrington myself, the only thing putting me off really committing myself is Briers kicking, he's missing far too many and when chasing a Hcp that's crucial.
  2. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIII - Round 7 Yeah mowgli Ryan Bailey is out along with a few others, can't really split them on the Hcp, would love to see Leeds hammer them but Bradford are a team that can really score well and the half back battle is going to be crucial, this is the game when Jeffries/Deacon could really excel and give the Bulls backs some decent ball. Truth be told i fancy Leeds but am going to have a small bet on the Hcp draw and will pick a player to score anytime later on. One to watch with not much money on i think.

  3. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIII - Round 6

Dropping into the NRC a punt on Fax do beat Whitehaven could be the bet of the day. Both sides are off scratch with most bookies. Halifax are on top form at the mo and trounced Workington 88-6 the other week. Whitehaven are good at home but have a few injuries and are playing a few junior players. My only doubt on Fax is both sides have qualified and with the NL1 season starting on Friday Halifax might also field a weekend side. If however there at full strength then they should win this one quite comfortably.
Unlucky with this one, don't let this put you off punting on rugby league. We don't have a seperate thread for lower leagues/cups so your more than welcome to post your views on them in the super league thread each week :ok
  4. Re: Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix 15-16th March Think that Kubica is going to get a podium finish, he's 2nd on the grid and only missed out on pole because of a slight error at the end of his lap. Kimi starting at the back is a plus, the BMW saubers seem to be going very nicely and as Mr Intensity said in another thread Kubica has got the car how he wants it now and showed that by setting the fastest time in final practice and coming 2nd on the grid. Kubica podium finish 6/4 @ Stan James.

Incidentally' date=' has anyone checked out the stats section of the Super League site yet? Very impressed with the depth of what they're producing compared to last year and may be worth a look if you like a bit of research behind your bets: [url']http://2008.superleague.co.uk/statistics_player.php
Like to spend a lot of time on there, all the stats needed for a players super league career are there, like the head to head bit too, good site. Going to back Danny Washbrook to score anytime, never a big tryscorer hence his price of 4's but i think he's starting to play well and with Berrigan coming back at hooker it will take a bit of pessure off him to make the breaks, giving him more chance of scoring with his supporting play. Danny Washbrook anytime scorer 4/1 @ Skybet. Think we might have jinxed it Punto, bogey team Wakefield will most likley do us all season.
  6. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIII - Round 6 Hull have a couple of players returning tonight to face Wakefield, Berrigan and Radford will give Hull a great boost, while Hull are starting to get over their injury's Wakefield's are getting worse. The loss of Rooney and Obst will be a big blow to coach John Kear who has another 5 players injured and missing from tonights 18. Hull ran Saints very close and seem to be turning the corner and getting the players back to allow them to play as a team, who when all fit and on the park can beat anyone. Wakefield managed to sneak a win against Hull KR, but with the players out they will have to rely on Brough to do a hell of a lot of work to get anything from this game. Hull -12 @ Skybet Missed out on the -8 earlier on but still think Hull have got enough to cover the 12.

  7. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIII - Round 6 Cheers Punto for putting these up, i forgot all about it, car troubles and the like :\ The Leeds game could be interesting with Leeds looking to get back on track after last weeks poor showing and Quins keeping a good scoring Giants side to nil. I said the other week that i thought the Quins defence was getting better and to nil any side in super league takes a great effort. It will be a lot to ask of them to keep a Leeds side from scoring at least a couple of tries but with +16 (Skybet & BetFred) i'm going to stick my neck out and plump for Quins to sneak it on the hcp.

  8. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIII - Round 5 Just a couple for the live game, Gareth Hock seems to be coming back to the form he showed last season, i think the price (5/1) is very big for a forward who spends more time in the centres. And Darrell Goulding is in fine scoring form, scoring 3 in 4 games and is value at 13/8. Gareth Hock anytime scorer 5/1 @ Skybet Darrell Goulding anytime scorer 13/8 @ Skybet

  9. Re: Rugby League: Super League XIII - Round 5 Nice to see you back rugbylad, been away too long. It's a weird one tonight with Castleford playing reasonably well and still getting beaten, and Leeds on a high following their World club victory in a hard fought game that will have left many players battered and bruised, on the back of that they are resting Peacock and have Mcguire and Toopi both injured, i Don't think that they will miss the last 2 too much. Gibson and Tansey are both good players that would fit into most teams, and i'm looking forward to watching Luke Burgess as Leeds are rating him highly, though i've not seen him play yet. I fancy Leeds will have too much for the Cas defence to handle, the only niggle i have is Cas have stung me before v Leeds, and as Punto said they raise their game and end up causing an upset. Leeds -16 11/10 @ Skybet And will also back Rob Burrow to open his try scoring account, can't belive he's not scored yet this season. Rob Burrow Anytime scorer 8/5 @ Corals
