As a preamble to my selection let me just explain that I'm a bit of a 'grass is greener' kind of chap ......... whatever is on at the moment I usually can't wait for the next thing

So as we're in the middle of the Jumps season hurtling towards Cheltenham my attention is turning to the Summer Game ...... the classics, Royal Ascot, Goodwood, York, Arc ..........

My interest has been piqued by a horse running on the AW at Kempton tonight ......... an unraced 3yo who has an entry in the Irish 2000 Guineas. OK, so there's probably several hundred horses who hold an entry in the Guineas ....... but this is the first debutant 3yo that I've noticed with possible lofty hopes

USA bred and only cost 15,000 dollars as a yearling ...... his value rocketed to 1.4 million Euros as a 2yo. Trained by Jeremy Noseda and Ryan Moore comes back from his winter break to ride this one horse at the meeting

Kemp 8.15 - Walk In The Sun at 13/8 bog Wm Hill

It probably won't win with previous winners in opposition and horses from Godolphin, Hannon, Balding etc in the race ........... and likely could be green, need a run and so on but I'll be interested to see how it gets on and if that Classics dream can be kept alive for now..............

What a cracking race, my friend works where

the big bets are placed and there were a lot for this horse. So I was on.

First 2 obviously look nice prospects!!!

  2. 3.10 Lingfield 75% Calling Out 25% Pactolus

Its good to see no one moaning when a horse loses as we all know this can happen lol. (I have to laugh) I hope you don’t mind me sharing my stories! (If allowed) I got a p&l on every bet last year and I was up £1420. Not a lot lol but up! I had a speculative play on Swansea at 11/1 the other day which took my balance way up! (Had to at that price! Mad I know!) I do cash in a percent of my bank and treat myself sometimes/others.

Anyways back to horses! I follow Calling Out and yes it didn’t run well at Wolves! Did they feed it to much turkey do you think? Loves Lingfield. I know this cause the horse winked at me when I was there last year! Races of a winning mark!

Probably wrong thread but West Ham have 3 main players out but you would possibly expect them to beat Wigan with a reduced team but not Palace the week after!

    Good luck today

    1.55 Southwell

A couple of outsiders catch my eye

Jack Blane @ 14-1  Paddy Power

    Be Bold @ 11-1 Bet 365

    1pt win on each

Hi Striker, I know both these horses. Jack Blane is a good eway horse to follow. It did have a stinker of a last race, but if you forgive that I think it will like It’s first outing at this track and runs if it’s perfect racing weight. (Just like myself!!!) I’m going to put it in my eway Yankee! Oh I forgot it’s got stall 13 that’s why I’m only sticking it in a small Yankee.

Be Bold is down to a very nice mark and should like Southwell with its leg action but hasn’t exactly proved that point and out of form. But you pay your money and hope.

  4. 3.05 Southwell

     Compas Scoobie 5/1 B365 & Betway

I know most of these horses and this is a difficult race. The 2 I like most are Midnight Malibu and Scoobie dooooo. (It likes a scrappy!) I’ve also previously backed Tricky Dicky but I think this could be beyond it today.

I’ve actually backed both 75/25% of stake instead of each way, which you could with 8 runners. On watching Compas Scoobie I feel it has the right action for this specialist course.

    Good luck

    5:45 Wolves LADY MAKFI 8/1 Bet365

Well out of her class last time in a listed event. 2nd time before here at Wolves over a extended 2M. on a winning mark and Both Trainer and Jockey Combo Above A/E

This was my Choice on Jan 8th and it was placed 4th. I noticed a few times last year that the horses i picked won next time or time after next. Just going to try 2nd and 3rd Chance to see if i can make a few quid or not to bother. not sure if to play small stakes or watching brief. Probably end up having a dabble.

Monday 5:50 Wolverhampton  LADY MAKFI  5/1  General Tonight  but 9/2 PP

    2nd Chance

Interesting as I’ve been following this horse. I believe I followed you in last time and it just got run out of a place. On its best form it should be there abouts in this race but I will wait until it shows some form which I know will mean I won’t get value! I will watch it! Good Luck!

    300 Ascot

    Guitar Pete 11/2 bet365

A nice each way bet to nothing here if you fancy that kind of bet. I was impressed by the way this one won at Wetherby and then again last time out at Cheltenham, may have been a bit lucky that day but still ran a cracker. This doesnt look that much harder to me so may be able to defy the 5lb rise. Trainer does well when venturing south and looks a solid sort.

I was looking at this race earlier, on my pub dinner break! I have backed for similar reasons to you Shantou Flyer. I thought it was s good last run and the trainer is expecting it to improve for that. Anyways hope 1 of us win or both place lol.

    Derby vs Bristol City

Yeah, I'm going to hop on board this one. Everyone and their dog are backing Derby to win this. Rowett is really pushing them on now he's settled down with them. I've always been impressed by him as a manager. I've kept a close eye on his career because back in the 1990s I selected him as my budget back-up in Fantasy Football. The Rams' form is really impressive at home. Only Wolves and Cardiff have a better record at their own grounds. Bristol City surprised many by their start to the season. I think the EFL Cup exploits have undoubtedly distracted them. The prospect of the second leg against Manchester City this coming week will almost certainly play a factor. All the facts point firmly to a Derby win. Surely!

    Derby to win @ 2.00 with Bet365

Total Goals Scored Under 2.5 @ 1.80 with Betfair

All my betting pals are backing Derby, but do you not think how well they’ve played against the Premiership Teams? He’s not resting any players is he?

    200 Ludlow

    Actinpieces 5/2 bet365

Thought this one ran really well last time in better company at Wetherby. Ended up 4th in a finish of neck and heads and was staying on the best in the closing stages. Had 23 days to get over that and she looks to have found a nice opportunity to get back to winning ways. Trainer Pam Sly doesn't come here that often but is 2/7 over the last 5 years with her chasers so would only be here if she thought she had a squeak.

Thanks, totally agreed on this and had a nice go on it. Also doubled it with mine but no luck! Some horses or most can’t run 2 races the same!

  9. 2.20 Southwell Tricky Dicky 9/4 B365

Ive watched all the videos and can’t see how most of these can turn the form around especially as this horse now has a 7lb claimer which should mean the form stays solid. Aleef isn’t included in these calculations but I don’t think this is its perfect distance. I’ve already backed Tricky, but I might cover with a forecast with Aleef. I had a dream earlier that Aleef was leading and Tricky Dicky shot passed it with 1/2 furlong to go.

    300 Newbury

    Indy Five 3/1 PP

Decent cards at Market Rasen and Newbury on Wednesday, my pick is for Indy Five who bolted up on his chase debut at Taunton at the end of December. It was no surprise he showed improved form on his first try at 3m and over fences and I think we still have a lot more to come so happy to follow him despite the hefty weight rise.

I see it fell! Some bookies do faller insurance which I do sometimes! However on looking at your long list of tips I did agree with your Mr Andros! Got me up after my horse came 2nd.

    12.40 Lingield

    Exchequer 7/2 B365

This horse likes it as Lingfield, has previously won here in a higher grade with 6lb more. The danger here must be the top weight so I’ve done s couple of forecasts. I suppose you could play each way but not for me. Take a look! I’m on for the win and Rev forecast with the top weight.

Omg I thought I had it for a minute !

    3.05 Hereford GASSIN GOLF @ 4/1

Richard Johnson also looks to hold solid claims on Kerry Lee’s 9yo.He gets back on board here for the first time since March 2015 when the pair combined to land a Newbury class 2 hurdle off a mark of 135.Johnson’s form figures on the Montjeu gelding read 22342231.

Looked to be coming back to form last time in a Sandown class 2 when 3rd,just over 6ls behind the 143 rated Call Me Lord(holds entry in Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock)with the 137 rated Brillaire Momento 6ls behind in 4th.Been raised just 1lb for that run to 123 but very well treated on old form and drops down a grade here.

Interesting thanks. I had s small interest on Carlos du Fruitier and 2 small savers on Gassin and Ottermoon in case he bellies his opening mark. I thought Carlos was going well until it fell. Whilst I don’t like risking horses who fell last race I’m sure they would’ve put a lot more work in. Hopefully my cover bets come in otherwise.

    2.50 Ayr whiskey Chaser 5/2

Ive backed this horse the last 2 runs. The first time of a mark of 109 in a class 4.(won) Then in class 2 off 114 and upped in distance. Now running of 114 again but dropped 2 grades and to its correct distance. It’s also up against a lowly bunch. My NAP of the day.

Hereford looks notoriously difficult! Good luck my fellow tippers.

Ayr is off! Shame I thought this one looked good!

  15. 4.35 Kempton Mercers 9/1 B365 1/4 odds

Got to get up early tomorrow! So my second horse is one that I’ve backed this each way. Runs off a good mark, ran reasonably well off a much higher mark last time at Krmpton and won last time out at Lingfield and has a decent 7lb claimer on board. Take a look and decide! I’m on!
