Re: Singles Only System - Variable Stakes Hi bigbubbah. My stakes are varied based on two factors. 1) The value in the odds. The bigger the edge is the bigger the unit stake. 2) The likelyhood that I think 'today will be the day'. How do I explain this? Ok - Imagine that Blackburn are 14/1 to beat Man Utd away from home. We might all say that this is a value bet because we would expect Blackburn (crap as they are) to beat Man Utd more than one times in fourteen - even at Old Trafford. I would then try to judge if this would 'be the day' that they got one of those days out of fourteen based on team news, recent form, newspaper scandals, last minute big news, gut feelings, other fixtures coming up etc. I hope this answers your question. In essence this system is almost an anti system if you like. I believe that having 1,000,000,000,000 bets to get a 1.16% yield is a) Boring. b) Tiresome. I want to use a discipline (not system). Does that distinction make sense to anyone?

Re: GRAND NATIONAL Can't wait to watch it tomorrow. I've always loved this race - even as a kid. I actually have been lucky picking the winners over the years too. Aldaniti, West Tip, Party Politics, Bindaree are four I backed.... Anyway excellent contributions from Akay, Seen and MyDogDylan. :ok :ok Thanks chaps I'll log on tomorrow with my paper and cup of tea and read it all again before putting on my bets.

Re: intl matches Bad Luck Matt. :( I appreciate that you and some others believe that betting on friendlies is worthwhile? IMO the results tonight vindicate my feelings that you shouldn't go anywhere near them.

BigJoe, My brain is far too tiny to answer that question (on a mathmatical level anyway). :lol I think the problem is more with the question than with the answer though. There are too many 'ifs' involved in your strategy. The biggest being your incredible claim that you can pick 4 slight odds on shots every week. :eek If you can do that just put on a big accumulator? Four 5/6 shots for a £10 accumulator would pay £113.00 :eek Why bother with the other two selections? :rolleyes
