Great to have you back in the mix @neilovan! I've heard a few people backing Watford for relegation. I agree. Swapping managers so frequently is a proven formula... for failure. They've got lucky so far but they've sold Richarlison and not re-invested the money as they should have. The only thing that could save them is half a dozen teams being in a worse predicament. If there is a season to stay up in the Premier League then this is that season.

Glad you have joined us up in the Premier League but I'm struggling to see 3 teams worse than both ourselves Stevie mate? It's bloody tough, we did well and only spent 1 day in the bottom 3 last season but towards the end I thought we were gonners. I hope we're both ok and we have an early season meeting that we both could do with winning.

  2. Why oh why do they price Leeds up so short? I really don't get it at all. Anyway, Derby look a good price, ok the jury is out on Lampard, first job and all that but if he gets it right, gets consistency, they could well be up there.

I saw a small piece with him from yesterday's friendly where they won 3-0 over Southampton and he seemed pleased with the performance. I think they could well be one to watch should Lampard start working his magic. The squad remains largely unchanged with Weimann leaving and two youngster from Chelsea and Liverpool in on loan plus Joozefon from Brentford.

  3. QPR are 11/5 up at Sunderland, ok, QPR haven't won in 5 but Sunderland are utter garbage and there has to be something in that 11/5 to take a chance on?

It looks slim pickings this week though lads, Bradford are 6/5 at Bury, think they'll win that and Fulham are evs at home to Preston. Cheltenham are 6/4 at the useless Port Vale, only Luton can match Cheltenham's point haul over the last 5 games.

Low stakes on QPR 11/5, Bradford 6/5, Fulham evs and Cheltenham 6/4 pays 34's.

Swansea to beat Huddersfield? We've been poor at home this season. BTTS or draw for my money. Huddersfield win represents great value too. 3 to 1!

Since our great start we've slowed a bit drawing games and not scoring many but I must say I do fancy us today and lets be honest, if both of us are to stay up both teams need to be winnning this game. Think we'll win this one 1-0 and I'll deffo be backing us today at that good price as despite our lack of goals and many draws we are still playing pretty well overall.

  5. Southend are a whopping 12/5 with Sky Bet to win at Doncaster. Southend are bang in form with 4 wins in the last 5 in all comps and 3 consecutive league wins. Donny look to be struggling so I think the 12/5 is too good to pass up on.

Wigan at 5/4, we don't need to say much more, although Scnuthorpe are no mugs think Wigan will win here.

Down into League 2 now for Accrington Stanley at 19/10 against Luton, where as Luton are in good form, they have only recorded one league victory on the road, although Stanley have lost 2 at home I fancy the home side here. Luton appear to no great shakes on the road.

Southend 12/5, Wigan 5/4 and Accy Stanley 19/10 pays 21/1

Fancying Fulham today at Ipswich, I know Ipswich have had a good start but I can't see them lasting the pace. Fulham will come good and rise up the table before long. Took them a while to get going last season too. Think they will shade it too but at 11/10 can'take be ignored.

Doncaster travel to Wimbledon who are struggling on the goal front although Doncaster haven't made a blistering start or anything, they can score. Think they might shade it today at 17/10.

My other two selection are Blackpool and Peterborough who are taking on teams who have had the lowest shot tallies in the whole league set up. My work colleague is a season ticket holder at Oldham and she says they're crap. Blackpool will win this at 6/5 and Peterborough who have made a great start are 13/8.

    Fulham 11/10 Doncaster 17/10 Blackpool 6/5 and Peterborough 13/8

    I feel like crying!!!!

Totally agree about us, Kenton. Nobody is even backing us to make the play-offs. Every predictions table I have seen has got us finishing outside the top 10 which I find staggering given that we have a strong spine to our team, more depth than last season, and Warnock still in charge. The only exit of any note was McGregor. I can't even say Whittingham will be a big loss on the quality front. Loved the guy but he was hardly having an impact in games any more and that's even when he was playing.

Ward looks like a great addition and Damour could be the buy of the summer if he continues his pre-season form. Provided we win our home games and draw our away games that's all we want. Bar the odd result here and there. So I'd take a draw today but really think we should be looking to win.

We are 2.45 for the win today and Zohore is 2.60 as an anytime scorer.

Well just remember what we did last season, everyone backed us to go down....even you Stevie mate lol.

  9. As there is nothing to really go on, form wise, it's a bit difficult to make an educated prediction. Small stakes on what I think might happen today, so here goes,

Cardiff City 7/5 at Burton. Burton are up against it again this season and have been handed a tough assignment against Cardiff. Warnock is a wiley old type and if anyone knows how to win promotion and get teams playing well it's him. Think Cardiff will have a decent season, I've backed them in my ante post bet for promotion and think they'll get off with a win today.

Brentford are now a solid Championship side and they are up at Sheffield United today who seem to have a few injuries to key players. Wilder hasn't managed at this level so I just wonder how he'll go. Fancy Brentford today.

Bury are priced at 21/10 at home to Walsall, am I missing something here? I fancy Bury to do well this time and Lee Clark has made some decent signings, they have some decent goalscoring strikers Ajose and Beckford, Harry Bunn joined yesterday from my team Huddersfield, he will do well for them.  The loss of Vaughan is a big one but the 900k will allow a few signings to come in.

Finally Exeter are decently priced at home to Cambridge. Losing last year's play off finalists and they'll be in the shake up again.

    Cardiff, Brentford, Bury and Exeter.

    some more

sheff utd v brentford - first half both teams to score

fulham v brentford - first half both teams to score

shrewsbury v northampton - first half both teams to score

forest green v barnet - first half both teams to score

accrington v colchester - first half both teams to score

    £10 returns £30.000

Brentford are playing twice at two separate locations?

  11. Anything can happen in this league but you can't really look much past Mansfield Town if I'm honest, anyone who finishes above then will have won promotion. Steve Evans is a canny operator he will have them up.

Just a word on Notts County, if they can bring in a few players to add to their squad under Kevin Nolan I think they could well mare the play offs. Jon Stead and Ameobi look like they will sign new deals, player of the season Milsom is still with them, Alan Smith too. I also have read they are in negotiations  with a player from Forest Green. Their squad seems to be aging but Kevin Nolan knows his shit.

  12. You single Bury out Stevie for relegation but I think the complete opposite. If they can keep James Vaughan and Jermaine Beckford fit, both are injury prone, they stand a really good chance of making the play offs, they will score goals. Vaughan has scored 27 goals in 34 appearances for Bury since signing for them but he is very injury prone. See who else they add player wise but Lee Clark knows the league and is a decentish manager, see how they fare but I think they could well be looking up rather than down.

  13. Brentford are quite interesting, they need to keep hold of Lasse Vibe and Jota if they are to stand any chance, think Jota was out of contract but not signed a new one despite the offer of one.

They finished 10th and had a good season. I think they will be feeling chipper about their chances given the promotion of relatively small clubs in recent season to the Premier League. If they can kep hold of the Dane and the Spaniard and add to that with some good signings then I think they have a reasonable chance. All depends who they add though, watch this space.

  14. Sorry lads I've not been on for a while, it's all been a bit of a whirlwind of late but I'm over the moon we've made it to the Premier League, I've waited 33 years for this and it feels good to have made it.

I did say Stevie, when you had tipped us for relegation that we'd have a decent season but this is beyond everyone's wildest dreams. I also Blackburn would get relegated too.

It's a bit of a lottery when it comes to the play offs. League form goes out of the window & instead we get cup ties. I think that the first legs will be low on goals.

Sheff Weds have the experience of losing the final last season, and it will make them stronger this time. The atmosphere at Hillsborough last season when they played Brighton was unbelievable, a proper football stadium with a passionate crowd to match. Huddersfield have done well this season but perhaps have run out of steam, & lack the experience of of being able to handle the pressure?

What do think @Kenton Schweppes, Ate you confident? I think that SW will be using th experience of last season to motivate them.

Blackpool-Luton could be a tight under 2.5 game, perhaps low on corners too. Nathan Jones will want to come back to fortress Kenilworth (Rd) on an even keel, at the very least.

Shou.d we be having the Glasgow double this weekend @Icongene? Surely Rangers will beat the Jambos?

Yeah, on curent form we appear to run out of steam, conceded 9 in the last 3 scoring only once, struggling to see where the goals will come from and how we will keep them out to win a game over 2 legs. Ever since the Newcastle home defeat which knocked us about after playing so so well but ended up being mugged by a very street wise Newcastle we've been so inconsistent. I mean we lost at Bristol City 4-0 but battered Norwich 3-0.

I'm not confident at all and I do fear for us. Bit of a stat for you here, we've had 8 previous play off semi home legs and never won one. The way we are leaking goals at the minute I'd see what price over 2.5 is.
