What the hell is going on in frame 7, a comedy of errors!

if it wasn't Ronnie, Id be wondering if it was a betting scandal, this match so weird.

As if it wasn't the professional era anymore and we'd be back in the 50s or earlier where nobody could make a century. That's Ronnie/Hawkins today.

I don't rememeber seeing such a stop/start match for a while. God knows what the pot % is
it's almost as if Ronnie doesn't want centuries today.
Ugh god, this match is so frustrating. Nobody can string a break together of more than 50

Both Ronnie and Barry should have a century each by now but both screwed up with amateurish positional play 🤦♂️. Hawkins very lucky to be on level terms, Ronnie sometimes displaying his 'can't be bothered' attitude. Needs to get his head down and focus on winning this and stop fooling around.

But I think Richard Mann might be spot on about Murphy/Lisowski as a century each is fully possible. Pays 2.75 at Coolbet

That both players couldn't hit a barn door at ten yards? 😆 Bloody hell I thought the standard in Hawkins Robertson was poor but this one takes the cake! 🤣

I don't think I've seen Allen play this badly this decade and yet he's somehow ahead. Higgins must be wondering how he lost two of these last three frames when on the verge of winning both, particularly the fifth one when he rashly walloped the final brown into the pocket (thus missing it) instead of calmly finishing off the frame, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Outright I try this year:
Djokovic @ 2.10 | 3/10 --> Suprabets
Sinner @ 7.50 |1/10 --> Suprabets
Tbh, I dont hav much of an idea who else should win. Nadal is absent, Alcaraz didn't play a match in 2024 and was everything else but in form in the end of 2023 and Zverev imho will not win a GS in 2024. Only other contender eventually Medvedev, but I think he had his chances 2022 and 2021 and his nerves will if he gets colse once again play tricks on him...

Bizarre game. Allen can only improve in the next round I guess 😕

Only 12 days to the 1st Grand Slam. I'm very surprised that Djokovic is still so huge favourite! The Serb was not at his best today against Lehecka altough took two sets 6-1, but lost the second set after tiebreak. He had some problems with his wrist and got medical threatment twice. Furthermore Nole was quite nervous and made some easy errors and lost two games in his own serves in a row!
Nadal was very impressive on his comeback after year-long injury absence against Thiem. Rafa was very powerfull and his movement was excellent. He played in very high level especially on the the second set.
I already got Nadal @19,50 from Marathonbet and IMO everything over @10,00 has value!
UNFORTUNATELY RAFA HAS RETIRED!
More opinions to come...

lol, he's all over the place today. Can't string a break together and playing some dopey shots.

Can't argue with any of that. Hawkins displayed his usual troubles closing as well. Unless O'Sullivan just doesn't turn up, I can't see Hawkins winning. First of all he's got to get the lead - which he might do - then he's got to finish it and that might be the worst aspect of his game. Dream scenario in-play is Hawkins makes a fast start and then back Ronnie. Hawkins has serious problems getting over the line and nerves seem to really affect him at the business end of a match.

I see that Hawkins has Ronnie up next. 🤣 If he(Hawkins) plays like yesterday, 'O Sullivan will wipe the floor with him. Will see what sort of odds the bookies are offering and see if there's any decent Ronnie related bets available. 👍
EDIT: Ronnie at 2/5 (with Paddy Power) to beat a player who struggled to beat the player who's barely won a match in six months? I'll have some of that! 😁

It's always a close match between Allen and Higgins but Allen has won the last 2 and I think he is playing the better stuff. I know that he has been practising and has had a solid 2 weeks. Higgins hasn't really been playing that great. Just one 50 break in his last win (over Wells) and whilst he made the Semi-Finals of the Scottish Open, who did he really beat of any statue?
With that being said, I'll also throw a point at the boosted 12/1 from PP on all 4 players today hitting a century. The competitiveness of Allen and Higgins may bring both hitting a century and the likes of Selby and Milkins are good breakbuilders.
5pts Allen to beat Higgins 4/5 Bet365
1pt All four to hit a century 12/1 Paddypower

tbh it's that time of year where players either have time off or they get back down to it fast. A break of a week or more and you see it straight away in their play. You can see that Brecel isn't practising much at all. He says he does half an hour here and there. I mean, that's ridiculous. It makes me wonder if he'll just spiral down now that he's won the big one.

Well Hawkins got it done in the end but both players played appalling at times. Standard really was poor overall from the pair of them, with a few comically bad shots from Robertson particularly, interspersed with some superb long pots, but it couldn't make up for his overall level of inconsistency. Hawkins though wasn't much better, his potting left a lot to be desired, he'll need a big improvement if he's to go any further in this competition.

I don't think Higgins has looked any better than Allen has lately so going for Allen today at 1.75 might be an idea as it is a decent price and could come in easily if Higgins is off his cueing. Allens season is good so far, Higgins more doubtful.
