I really enjoy reading your write ups. You always convince me these horses will run well and I often use your selections in my bets. Keep up the good work.

    1.05 Uttoxeter - 1pt e/w Mayfair Spirit @ 9/1 Bet365
Decent flat racer who shapes as if he could be decent over hurdles. Rated in the 80s on the level, is race fit and in form so looks a healthy e/w prospect here.
    1.50 Longchamp - 2pts win Thunder Beauty @ 6/1 Bet365
Looks very interesting here having won well on debut and then finishing well on good ground last time in hot company over 7f. Bred to do better over further and her sire relished soft ground so this test today promises to really suit. Big chance in my eyes.
    3.05 Longchamp - 1pt e/w In Swoop @ 8/1 Bet365
Can't have either of the front two in the betting at the prices and I quite like the prospect of In Swoop here who finishes races off well and the prospect of a decent test here really ought to suit. Stayed on late for 2nd behind Mogul last time and would obviously have to improve on that but a stronger gallop and more testing ground should play to his strengths and has sound claims.

    12.10 Warwick - 1pt e/w Some Might Say @ 10/1 Bet365
Ready winner of a bumper two starts back with the form working out and had clear excuses on hurdling debut. He was extremely novicey and pulled like a train throughout in a decent race. This easier test and sharper track will suit and his jumping did improve as the race went on that day so if racing more conservatively and putting his experience to good use, can go very close.
    12.20 Salisbury - 1pt e/w Aleas @ 12/1 Bet365
The two with form towards the head of the market are respected but neither look unbeatable on the evidence of their debuts and I quite like the profile of Aleas. Bred to be useful and this one's dam won her first two starts as a 2 year old including a Group 3 and Aleas's only half sibling as also decent at 2. Any give in the ground won't inconvenience and Ralph Beckett's can go well first time out with the yard in form, so looks an interesting newcomer.
    2.08 Ffos Las - 1pt e/w Caviciana @ 8/1 Bet365
Favourite may well win again but I wouldn't be getting involved turning out again so quickly after a mammoth absence. Caviciana is relatively lightly raced and having been too keen last year appears to have learned to settle with experience and has run well the last twice over 2m4f. Is bred to stay however so the extra half mile here ought to suit so if conserving energy upped in trip, should go close.
    2.43 Ffos Las - 2pts win Heavey @ 5/1 Bet365
Has been in really good form over hurdles but has also shaped as if he'd make a better chaser and had a chance when being brought down on his only previous start over fences. The favourite here won in a small field and also jumped right which he wouldn't want to do here and the second favourite returns after an absence so Heavey looks the solid option here.
    2.55 Warwick - 1pt e/w Givepeaceachance @ 12/1 Bet365
More unexposed than most having only run twice over hurdles and respectably on both occasions. Stays well on the flat so a steadily run race over 2 miles didn't suit last time when getting outpaced but wasn't beaten far and ought to enjoy this a bit more with a stronger gallop likely in a handicap and with the hood on first time.
    3.05 Salisbury - 1pt e/w With Respect @ 9/1 Bet365
I'm hoping the positive market signals continue this afternoon for this one as he ran flat when weak in the betting at Ayr last time, albeit from a poor position. Was impressive on debut on his only previous effort over 6f and had excuses in a hot novice race at Lingfield and then when not staying a mile. Will need a good pace or a more prominent sit today back at this trip but still lightly raced and can hopefully bounce back under these conditions.
    4.30 Ffos Las - 1pt e/w Giga White @ 20/1 Bet365
Have to take this one with a pinch of salt as is definitely a character but also has ability and shaped as if the return to hurdles would help when running over fences. Was badly hampered early on last time and that seemed to knock its confidence which resulted in a refusal at the second. Hopefully can get into the race today and if so, 20/1 could look overpriced.

Small profit with Ventura Flame winning at 9s and Donnachies Girl 2nd.
Little play at Newcastle this evening:
6.15 Newcastle - 1pt e/w Million Reasons @ 17/2 Bet365 (Shaped pretty well at Kempton when the mile trip looked a bit far and also on pedigree. Should come on for that run and enjoy the drop in trip)
6.45 Newcastle - 3pts win Arnold @ 11/4 Bet365 (Drifted out to a very backable price - looks primed to win with some luck in the run back down to 5f)
7.15 Newcastle - 1pt win Najib @ 6/1 Bet365 (Should find this easier to lead all the way than at Hamilton recently. Off a decent mark with conditions to suit)
7.45 Newcastle - 1pt win Ishebayorgrey @ 6/1 Bet365 (Break seemed to do it good when running well over 6f here last time. Back up to 7f will suit and off a fair mark).

    1.00 Hamilton - 1pt win Clieves Hills @ 12/1 Bet365
Market suggesting maybe not one for today but James Bethell's horses are running well and this one comes from a talented family. Virtually all of her half siblings have been nice types and the vast majority won either first or second time out. Will need further in time but 50% of Bethell's 2 year olds have been in the first three when running at Hamilton and could go well on debut.
    1.30 Hamilton - 1pt win Ventura Flame @ 8/1 Bet365
They set it up for Economic Crisis last time out and I think with a slightly more conservative pace up front, Ventura Flame can go very well today. Continues to slide down to an attractive mark and improved for a more positive ride last time. Best form has come from a prominent sit and if getting a handy position from a good break, should go well off a now lowly mark.
    2.10 Newton Abbot - 1pt e/w Dan Gun @ 18/1 PP
This is a poor race and whilst Dan Gun has been well held so far this season, there have been excuses. Presumably needed the run first time up, had next to no chance at the weights in a claiming hurdle next time out and led for a long way last time. Has stopped quickly which is a concern but this drop in trip can help and in a weak race, has at least proven himself previously under similar conditions.
    2.20 Bath - 1pt e/w Leto The First @ 14/1 Bet365
Rod Millman's charge is well drawn to attack here from stall 2 and this one has plenty of pace. Will relish the drop back to the minimum trip from 6f having shown an element of promise despite racing freely over that trip. Hollie Doyle on board and should be able to finish his race off better now down to a sharp 5f and didn't have much of a chance at the weights in a seller last time. Blinkers on too today.
    3.00 Hamilton - 1pt e/w Donnachies Girl @ 7/1 Bet365
Well drawn to attack here and I'm hoping she makes this more of a test than last time when going a steady pace in front and was just outpaced by the front two in the end. Stays this trip well so I'd be keen to see this made more of a test as I think they'll struggle to get past her if so. Is a course and distance winner and looks sure to go well so appeals at an each wide price.
    3.40 Newton Abbot - 1pt e/w Can You Believe It @ 8/1 Bet365
Benefited from wind surgery in recent runs and his 2nd two starts back reads well being a progressive type. Couldn't quite back it up last time up to 3 miles but has been given a break since and the drop in trip looks a good move. Stays this distance well and still looks plausibly handicapped on recent form now freshened up again.

I don't think any of those with runs are bombproof here and you have to be drawn to the full sister to Quadrilateral on debut for the same connections. Will be interesting to see how she goes in the market but very well related and in a winnable race on debut, isn't a bad price.
    1.30 Haydock - 2pts win Saligo Bay @ 9/2 Hills
I think Saligo Bay's form when 3rd at Doncaster is the best in the race, keeping on well to the line whilst still shaping as if in need of the experience. Would expect improvement today and can go forward and try to dominate these from near the front. Action suggests any give in the ground won't inconvenience so primed to go well.
    2.05 Haydock - 1pt e/w Just Hiss @ 9/1 Bet365
With the favourite in here a 5/2 shot who narrowly got the better of Just Hiss at Ripon recently, I think the value is with Tim Easterby's runner. Won despite everything going wrong at that venue three starts ago and I think paid for making its challenge too soon there next time. Ran over 1m2f in good company last time but at this level is better at a mile and holds each-way hopes here at a handy price.
    2.10 Market Rasen - 1pt e/w Bandsman @ 9/1 Bet365
Unlucky not to have won this season having looked a certain winner at Uttoxeter a couple of starts back over 3m2f. Better over shorter, however, and the return to 2m5f on good ground will be ideal. On a fair mark still and the form of its 3rd last time - again over slightly too far - reads well.
    3.20 Market Rasen - 1pt e/w Cawthorne @ 12/1 Bet365
This horse loves to fall or be pulled up but nothing like a bit of Saturday afternoon entertainment. I actually think he has a decent each-way chance here. Clearly best on a sound surface so can forgive his runs last season and has shaped well on three of his four runs over fences this year. Only faded on the run-in first time out after a break, fell when holding a chance at the last the time after and was creeping into it going quite well when falling 4 out last time. Returns to hurdles here with conditions to suit and hopefully he can get round today!
    3.35 Newmarket - 1pt e/w King Carney @ 28/1 Bet365
Was decent last year including when winning a listed race at Pontefract and has had excuses this year - didn't stay in the Lingfield Derby trial and then was essentially the pacemaker in the Hampton Court at Royal Ascot, setting the race up for the closers up the straight. Bounced back with a solid run last time out behind Tempus, looking likely to drop out of it before rallying well and was coming back at the finish. Is just a galloper so can race handy here and just keep grinding - probably would prefer slightly softer ground but this shouldn't be too lively and hopefully will get a run for my money at a big price.

First big winner in a while in a quiet month - she gave it a lovely ride. I probably thought a place was more likely but was a big price regardless of his age - handy little drift to 22s too!

    12.30 Uttoxeter - 1pt e/w Quick Draw @ 8/1 Bet365
If fit enough for this (market vibes quite positive) then looks to hold sound each-way hopes having run well in two bumpers. Ran on well to be second on debut and then was a very respectable 7th in a listed bumper over 1m6f next time out. Wouldn't have the speed for that in good company and always looked like going hurdling over further would suit on pedigree and runs so far. Very unexposed still and conditions ought to suit here with an extra emphasis on stamina going hurdling over 2m4f. Open to plenty of improvement now and I'd be disappointed if he didn't make the first three.
    1.30 Uttoxeter - 1pt e/w Very Intense @ 25/1 Bet365
Hasn't run since February when flopping on heavy ground but this should be more suitable and there are some promising signs returning from an absence given this one has plenty of good form when fresh. Was only narrowly denied at Fakenham two starts back (pair clear, winner went close off higher next time) and if returning with a run anything like that, would go close here with conditions to suit, so worth chancing at such a big price.
    1.50 Newmarket - 1pt win Fooraat @ 15/2 Bet365
Unexposed type who hasn't quite built on its impressive win at Chelmsford earlier in the year but has had excuses - off the pace in a slowly run race at Epsom when not handling the track all that well and then ran on heavy ground last time, albeit respectably. His full brother Benbatl, who also runs today, has flopped on soft ground so very plausible he can bounce back on a sounder surface today and on a more galloping track.
    2.15 Haydock - 1pt e/w Mahanakhon Power @ 14/1 Bet365
Fair to say the market vibes are not strong for this one on handicap debut and it's probably the case that his handicap mark flatters him but does have 7lbs taken off his back here and this test should suit better. Not done a great deal in novices over shorter but did stay on to some effect last time out over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton and is very much bred to stay so the extra furlong here and a more testing surface should help. Drifted out to a big price so will have a tentative play.
    2.35 Uttoxeter - 1pt e/w Follow the Swallow @ 20/1 Bet365
Off a featherweight I think the 12yo in the field could go well at a big price having produced a more than satisfactory return to action last time, only fading on the run-in and this one has an excellent record second time out after an absence. Gets its ground today too and has place prospects at least.
    3.00 Newmarket - 1pt win Santosha @ 17/2 Bet365
Santosha beat Isabella Giles two starts back over 6f yet that one is a 2/1 shot here and I think Santosha looks the value bet here. Had no chance after completely blowing the start last time out so can draw a line through that effort and should be absolutely fine going up to 7f today on both track evidence and pedigree so surprising to see such a big price here in a small field.
