Its getting very silly now this "debate" might i suggest that an admin delete the non table comments so we can all move on? table page is long enough without them me thinks.

I question that my posts lead to no value to the forum and I would like to point out that members who make no posts indeed have no value to the forum ?

If you re-read the thread he didn't get hammered, what he got were responses to his points and most were sympathetic to his situation but simply didn't agree with him on this issue. some at least put their reasons forward for why they didn't agree with him. surely that is useful in any debate. and i would suggest a consensus was reached and that was, that it is the bet and not the horse that counts for the competitions. okay so it wasn't what he wanted to hear (and i did sympathise) but at least they were honest opinions.

If thats aimed at me , Id get your facts correct first before you start making statements
I did NOT  say I would not post unless @The Equaliser refused to post , he stated he might catch me up profit wise so I said Id stop posting until he did, which is quite different than his wrongly perceived version,mind you thats his trait trying to twist everything .
Also as above his posts lead to no value to the forum whatsoever and just turn into schoolboy type bickering.

This is the point! Everybody else (who has chosen to express an opinion) has said so and no-one has claimed that your horse lost. The table records whether the bet was a winner or a loser. Imagine an each way selection that placed rather than won but returned a profit. The table would record it as a winning bet. This despite the fact that the horse did not win the race. Nothing about the table is predicated on whether or not the horse won the race. It is about whether or not the bet was a winning one. A bet that returned less than the stake is a losing one and it really is as simple as that.
I can understand why you queried the decision and why you might be disappointed but in view of the ensuing discussion and clarification I don't think there is any sense or scope in pursuing the argument.

You are the only one who sees this as an issue. Everybody else agrees that the bet was a loser.

Well as it stands a placed horse/bet in profit is classed as a winner so by your logic a 9/4 horse placed ew coming placed would also be a winner like, i said earlier as it stands the table headings are bet, won, lost. and not horse, won, lost. like i say i do understand your angst and the reasons for it but sometimes we just have to bite our lip, kick the cat and accept the situation. One thing for sure is that it is not something to fall out with anyone over.

It does not count as a winner. 
On the above example you would "win" because your losses were less, not because you had more winners.
Its common sense really.
McClarke has a hard enough job to do without having spend time having to explain something which is obvious to everybody else on here.

Your opponent would show a loss of £3 and you would have a loss of £2.42 so you would be deemed the winner.

The simple way to write a rule would be to say IT IS THE BET and not the Horse that has priority for the competitions, which just clarifies what already happens.

Unfortunately not. I only took over in December so don't have the previous months in my database.
I suspect that it wouldn't be as good due to the break in racing because of Covid. From what I remember the returns in those months when players only had foreign racing to select from were quite poor.

No prizes for this but out of interest a summary of 2021.
Some stellar performers, especially @mick33who produced a fantastic 247 points profit with only 2 months showing a loss. 
6 players produced profits of over 100 points.
Over a third of players made a profit.

Here we are with the final tables. 
Not too many winners this week but nonetheless some movement at the top of the Divisions partly also due to bet sizing.  Bet of the week goes to @avongirl (yay!) with a 9.5/1 double, followed by @Astleavista with a 5/1 double.
Our overall leader for the last few weeks @Hotspur88 holds on to the top spot with yet another winner, making it 6 successful weeks out of 9.   Second place @Bagzi climbed the table with a half bank winner, both the top 2 achieving over £400 bank and both being from the same Division.   Overall our lower Divisions have done very well although there will be a few players from Div 1 keeping their place in the top echelon next season.
Not too many drop outs this time, thank you to all who have played and completed the season.  We do have a few spots vacated for new or returning players to join - see the separate thread to apply.  I am intending to start Season 3 immediately this week.
Winners, I will tag you all later with instructions for claiming your prizes.

I've pulled the PL team out of this as sadly we weren't close enough to a full team available.
There are other open games running across the weekend so anyone can still go to DTD if they wish to support the APAT event.

We've been approved. Now we need to pick a team!
 
This is only a suggestion, so feel free to shout me down, but I think selection should start with active forum members, and players who play in the Wed tourneys. Next priority should go to players who have turned out for PL before, and if we still haven't got 8 players then first to make themselves available.
