  1. Sorry didn't make it tonight, get as many points as you can because I'm back next week :lol

Good luck Nottingham21, good to see you join in :ok

On an unrelated point, I appear to have got a full tournament refund ($T) for last Sunday's server chaos despite being short stacked at the time of disconnect. If anyone was still in any tournaments at the time, make sure you also get your buyins and/or ITM payouts.

  2. A few years back when we had those regular variant games, Omaha, Stud, Badugi, Draw etc, I was never keen on PLO.

I think it can take a while to adjust to the subtle differences (read also a little frustrating, I still struggle on occasions with "must use both held cards"!), but I'd say it's definately worth persisting with. I think it makes a refreshing change once you get used to it and genuinely believe you, and others, will grow to love it @thebestthere.

It's also a superb low-cost & friendly opportunity to increase our collective understanding & prowess in the variant games that are increasingly present as cheap side events in poker tours, festivals & of course online series.

Ultimately the forum will try to accomodate everyone's preferences, so do post thoughts and/or suggestions on alterative formats for consideration.

  3. Good luck with the next chapter mate, but go slowly, don't go rushing into anything. The fish will still be floating around next week, month etc.

Schedule frequent 'cooling off' breaks, both in between sessions and during. Sticking rigidly to a stop loss of x-buyins triggering an automatic sit out or walk around the garden can be a very effective counter against any temporary rush of blood or angst. But I'd seriously consider taking a couple of weeks complete break to plan everything through carefully in your head and on paper before restarting from a cold, relaxed but highly motivated stand point.

I know you're a seasoned player but if I can help at all just shout. I can lay my hands on some quality mental-focus material, or help in finding a coach or refresher material etc.

Similarly don't ever let poker or anything else come to that, drag you down dangerously low, my mobile is always available 24/7 to any poker friend who is in urgent need of a chat or friendly ear, and as you know, I have big ears ( :) )

  4. Yes please do not post passwords, still applies, we do not want to disrupt other groups private games in the same way that we don't like our own disrupted.

I personally don't really see a problem posting general information about the games/groups for other members benefit as you've done Leo, for me context/intent is all important and whilst they do get a bit of free advertising, you posted purely to help other members which is admirable and I don't see any of those shown as direct competitors to what Punters Lounge does. Indeed, quite a number of PL members will no doubt already be affiliated with some of the more generic groups shown.

Of course I'm happy to be over-ruled if Avon or Sir Puntalot see it differently.

I personally would just remind all members of the importance of securing their personal data. Each time you join a group on facebook, sign up to a new forum etc little bits of info about you & your friends are passed on.

I'm not for a moment suggesting any partner sites of Partypoker have anything other than honest/genuine intent, but do make sure that anything you sign up to is legitimate and serves your purpose far beyond any initial centroll/freeroll.

Punters Lounge will never share or sell your personal information without your express approval and of course continues to provide a number of exclusive offers, added value competitions and events all year round as it has done for a number of years.

  6. Just a quickie,

This pick the winners of each game promo has been going a while but I got an email yesterday providing 5 additional free entries

All entries have to be used by tonight.

Worth checking your accounts/emails for free entries in what is a huge but admittedly long shot.

I'll take the usual 10% of any winnings resulting directly from this reminder... or a pint & a jam doughnut, I'm easy.

    Good luck

Long shot but my middle names not 'bink' by chance ;)

    Through:

    • $1 Phase 1 Satellite, = 6/200 (20) with 133k chips vs 100k next phase average

    Still to come:

    • Phase 2 (effectively a $10 Satellite) playing for $109 seat
    • Scoop Main Event Low - If qualify
    • Ship as much of the $1.5 milly as humanly possible
    • Buy beers at PL-Live in Brum!

No cigar in phase 2, out to standard flip = 208/1,369 (121+5)

So it's just lemonades all round in Brum :\
