  1. Re: Cheltenham 2012 - Gold Cup

I'm doing similar but with Long Run in the King George and the Gold Cup
You wont be able to do that as they are are a related bet and the bookmaker will offer you a special price. If Long Run wins the King George then he will be shorter for the Gold Cup so they wont let you do the double at the normal odds.

Really hope Wrexham can get sorted out and feel for their fans and players. On a more mercenary note there must be some prospect that, assuming the club is able to fulfil their opening league fixture, the players are not mentally prepared. The cancellation of friendlies is likely to leave the team short of match fitness and, conceivably, a few of Saunders' first choice players are not "available". On 13th August they are scheduled to play Cambridge United who, as Ships has highlighted, seem to have put together a useful squad that could surprise a few people. At 14/5 in a couple of places it may be worth taking Cambridge early. This would be a sporting play even without Wrexham's current travails, but it could be very much shorter come match day.
Good idea that 13/5 with VC is currently the best available. Ive seen the statement from Wrexham today and there is no money left so it really does beg the question that if something isnt done quick that if Wrexham do make it to the first day of the season the team is not going to be that strong.

thats very true addpea the racecourses get a list sent to them given them 5 choices who is their first choice etc and so on, but as you say its always the thompson who gets the majority of racecalls in Norfolk I feel sorry for Lee McKenzie who lives in the south having to go virtually anywhere in the country
Im sure he doesnt mind when he gets the likes of York to commentate at which is way above his ability, but then they used Cattermole for years so they obviously like poor commentators. Glad Hayley won as she sounded the best of a bad bunch in the semis.
  4. Re: Hayley Moore Incase people dont know the courses can say what commentators they want and tracks will have commentators that they dont want and so wont get given them. Its something I dont think is very fair. At the end of the day if you are good enough to be on the roster then you are good enough to call at any of the tracks.

  5. Re: Hayley Moore

Disagree ' date=' they should be allowed an opportunity , i dont see why not. It is for a place on the training scheme which after 18 months if they are good enough they may get a chance to get a job somewhere. Based on what i heard they were not too good but that however should not deny them a chance of becoming good and making a success out of it.[/quote'] What a load of rubbish. Why should they be allowed to have a chance like this? Male commentators have to work hard to get on the roster and dont have the chance of some competition with a £2000 prize to show how good they are. No women have submitted a tape before because its clear that no woman is good enough to commentate. As someone said to me its sexism in reverse.
  6. Re: Hayley Moore As Ive said on here before neither of them should be allowed an opportunity like this. Quite a few of the commentators on the roster at the moment arent even allowed to call at Ascot so why should two terrible ones? As for Gary he nearly blew his chances a couple of years back but hes been given his chance again and will probably get on at some stage.
