Re: Food at racecourses I take my own food and either have it before I get in or whilst there, although some courses wont let you bring you own food in now.

Re: Gary Wiltshire on BBC today
I have been told but I cant remember and its no one well known but he does work in the industry in some capacity he might even work at ATR. I have a great story about Kirsty and how she got her nickname milkshake but I really dont think I can share on a family forum like this lol. I am also led to believe that a certain high profile trainer just lets his wife shag whoever she likes and that another Irish trainer caught his other half at after putting CCTV in the house and going on holiday. She was the one who was really training the horses and her leaving meant a downturn in the stables form. I think the reason why it goes on is because none of them get time to socialize away from racing so it makes it a different sort of environment to what we live in.Just wonder who Gina Bryce is getting jiggy with -
Re: Npower League Two > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season I see it looks like Gillingham are going to sign Danny Kedwell.

Re: Gary Wiltshire on BBC today
From what I heard he didnt even last the honeymoon.I wonder why the Bird woman got fed up with Dickie Jr after 2 months of marriage -
Re: Gary Wiltshire on BBC today The Jamie and Hayley thing is pretty common knowledge but I must admit I never knew about Alex and AP nor about the fact she was with Hannon Jnr, who of course was married very brifely to Zoe Bird.

Re: French Champion Hurdle The industry price is a general bookmakers price and is offered on any French race that is shown on SIS now. You can still ask for a PMU price however, just in the same way you can either bet on the tote or take a price over here.

Re: French Champion Hurdle
Hasn't he changed stables after those string of refusals' date=' at aintree i think, before he came 2nd in that grade 2 hurdle for which he opened up at 100-1 in the morning[/quote'] Milton Harris has been refused a licence from the BHA so basically its just a new name not a new trainer. Try Bet 365 for the PMU they might well have it. -
Re: Gary Wiltshire on BBC today
Spot on about Persad there. Its fairly well known that the only reason he got the job is because of the colour his skin, its a bit like Gina only getting the gig on ATR because shes female. I find Carson funny at times although mainly for the wrong reasons and I think they could probably do with getting Weaver on instead. Darley has improved from what I have seen of him this week and as for Fitzy he clearly knows nothing about Flat racing but it should be remembered that C4 use an ex jump jockey on Flat racing as well. I think the rest of what you say is right as well, the fashion annoys me especially this year as I actually liked Sherwood because he would slag people off which is always funny to watch, but as you say there will be people interested in the fashion and I understand why it needs to be covered.I actually quite enjoy the banter between Wiltshire and Parrot, all they're doing is letting people know which horses have been backed, I dont see how anyone can be offeneded by them to be fair, they're only on for a minute or two every half hour anyway, some of you lot need to take a big swig of calm the fcuk down juice. Persad though is a completely different ball game. A total clown with not the first clue of horse racing. I tell you something now. These last two days are the first two I've heard him asking trainers relevant questions about the horse in questions recent form pre race and then it's possible targets post race. Im willing to bet a pound to a pinch of snuff that he's now being spoon fed these questions through an ear piece by someone in the directors suite. He's what you might call the face of positive discrimination. No way would he have that job were it not for his ethnicity. If he was called Richard Percy he'd be the bleeding tea boy. Carson is a horrible little sh1te who mumbles and stumbles and makes a mockery of the word professionalism every single day. Balding actually does a decent job of managing to remain calm and at least attempt to bring some respectability to the show considering she has to put up with that dumpling. Bartlett and Darley do a decent job as well. The fashion thing sends me up the wall but i've accepted that not everyone attends Ascot for the horses and as such not everyone that watches it on the T.V probably wants to hear about nothing else than horses so I suppose we shouldn't be so selfish on that respect. All in all. 7/10. OK, could do much better. -
Re: French Champion Hurdle According to the RP site its on ATR as well, would be nice if c4 decided to show it too. You should be able to bet on the PMU rather than take the price if thats what you want its just the same as betting on the Arc. How on earth can anyone possibly back Chaninbar given his dreadful record of starting races? Grand Crus does seem to have a lot in his favour but this surely has been an after thought and its hard to tell if he will be at his best tomorrow.

Re: The Filly Factor
But why should it have been broadcast on the TV or in the betting shops? To be honest if I turned up to Bath and Doncaster at the weekend and had to put up with 4 commentories like that I would not have been happy.Sadly what started out as what Street thought was a good idea has basically been panned by the industry as their audio wasnt broadcast live by ATR/SIS as Malcolm Tomlinson was in the Channel 4 commentary box as you could hear them underneath him -
Re: The Filly Factor From what Ive heard tonight the winner might get a place on the training course but it wont be going any further than that. I think they hoped that they might find a great new talent but sadly for them that clearly has not happened.
-
Re: The Filly Factor Just heard them all on ATR and Hayley sounded much better than the others. Totally agree with what Lee Mottershead was saying as well. Its a total gimmick and none of them really sounded good enough. Why should women be given these sort of chances just because they are female.

Re: The Filly Factor Im surprised Emily was fav as I didnt think she would be any good at it. Not sure what races they all did but Im sure Hayley's job at Donny was harder given the amount of runners there today compared to Bath.

Re: The Filly Factor Im surprised Gina didnt enter but thankfully she didnt.

Re: England > Non-league antepost > BlueSQ Bet Prem 2011-12 I for one hope that BS dont get any money from the league as we didnt when we were placed in the North.
-
Re: England > Non-league antepost > BlueSQ Bet Prem 2011-12 Rusheden have been kicked out, Southport are back in the BSP, Thurrock are back in the BSS and Bishops Stortford have been moved to the BSN.

Re: Barney Curley - How does he get away with it? Im with erhaab on this. Given how many horses he is bound to have some bad ones and so what if he chooses to get them fit on the racecourse everyones methods of training are different.

Re: Npower League Two > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season
Lol. At the current prices Id much rather back Crawley for League 2 than Luton for the BSP.I hope we win the league for you ;). -
Re: Barney Curley - How does he get away with it?
PUs in a Flat race?Mark Johnston should worry about his own training ability rather than the handicapping system. How many PUs does he have in a month? Probably more than other yards have in 3 years. And I'm not talking about small stables. -
Re: Npower League Two > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season Ive read plenty of good things about Ross Hannah and he deserves his chance at a higher level. If I was a manager of a League 2 club Id be very happy to have Tubbs/Akinde up front for me. I should say I have had an each-way double on Crawley and my fancies for the BSP in a bid to boost the returns.

Re: Cycling 2011/Giro D'Italia 2011
In my view though Thor will be too far behind to be worrying about gaining points in the mountains. I dont see him finishing as high as 2nd in a sprint finish. The only way Cav wont win green is if he falls off, gets ill, or gets disqualified again. What you have to be mindful of though is those mountain stages where Thor went into the break to get six points will now yield him 20pts. Sure Cav will win a lot too but in tines where he does Thor can still come 2nd and collect some points. In those times where Thor gets points in the mountains Cav will get nothing. I still think he will win but this is the big danger for Cav that this adjusted system poses. -
Re: Npower League Two > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season
The old debate about if good non-league strikers can make it in the League and always on the negitive side. Why dont you have a look at how Steve Morrison has done since he left Stevenage? Sometimes strikers have fluke seasons and score lots of goals I would say Fleetwood was one of those, but there are others like Morrision who are proven goalscorers season after season like Tubbs. For me Akinde offers a lot more than his goals and he was also only 18/19 when playing for Ebbsfleet and he is only 21 now which suggests plenty of scope for improvement. I think he made the mistake in leaving Ebbsfleet to soon but I think Crawley could be the perfect club for him. It's all relative to the price, fellas. I'm not doubting that the gap between League Two and BSP is smaller than L2>L1, but then you wouldn't see League Two champions at 4.5-5.5 the next season. The Munto Finance thing with Notts County resulted in them being very short for the League One title, not favourites, but something like 16/1, too short given that no-one what was going on. Akinde is good - 28 (10) for Ebbsfleet - so what did you think about Ashikodi 16 (11)? And what is he doing now? IMO just as many strikers have been hotshots in the BSP and then gone on to be mediocre in the League. To my mind, there probably will be some more expensive signings for Crawley, but the chances of them going into administration are just as likely as them winning the League. Unless someone can provide me with some more information on where their money is coming from. -
Re: Npower League Two > Ante-Post 2011-12 Season Jase that is a very sensible post. Nice call on Plymouth as well who could very well do a Stockport. Thing is there is so much deadwood in this League it would be nice for two of them to go down. I think the only question with Crawley now is are they value at the current odds and my view is they are probably around the right price.

Re: Cycling 2011/Giro D'Italia 2011
Only just read about the new points system and it looks suited to give Cav the green jersey. Hes an even bigger cert than I thought he was before, however given its a three week bike race I never like to go big on odds-on chances.I think it all depends on how the new points system will affect things as to whether Cavendish wins or not. Having not looked at the profile, I probably can't say if it's to his advantage in a distribution of stages sense, but if, as I expect they will, HTC chase all the early stage sprint points, then Cav will be so far ahead that it's unlikely anyone else will even try (unless Cav crashes on one of the finishes). Personally I hate the new points system. It's going to ruin the betting opportunities of some to many stages :@

Re: Cycling 2011/Giro D'Italia 2011 Before every Tour it seems Cav isnt quite at his best and people write him off and then come the Tour his different class to everyone else. He may well be off to Sky but I dont agree with your argument at all. They will obviously try and stop him winning but I cant see them being anywhere near good enough to do so.
