  1. Re: What is the best type of bet in horse racing ? I think the above post is the best answer on here. The best bet is whatever is suited to the race. For example today I have done two bets I very rarely do and that is a place lay and a bet in the betting without the fav market. It seems pointless to me to limit yourself to a certain bet it should be judged on a race by race basis. Win singles would make up most of my betting but then my two biggest wins have come from an e/w treble I did last month and a yankee I had up at Cheltenham last year.

  2. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Apr 20-21 I only got home after the game finished so have only see the goals, but Wrexham's goalkeeper is a massive liability and it was very poor of him to let his opposite number score. From the sounds of it Wrexham were poor and Mansfield should have won by more. I thought the performance against Fleetwood might spark them back to live, but it clearly hasnt. Sorry Bartonbank but I cant have Wrexham at all in the play-offs.

  3. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Apr 20-21 Sounds like Ebbsfleet arent going to be up for their game against Southport. Its hard to say lump on the home side though as they arent the most trustworthy of sides and at 4/6 you need a lot on to make it worth while. Ships has made a very good case for a double with Hendon and Cambridge City elsewhere and I think its worth adding Southport to make it a treble. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17759878

  4. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Apr 20-21 Mansfield v Wrexham has been given the go ahead tonight. Just one bet for me this weekend Newport County v Alfreton No surprise to regular readers that I am firmly with the away side here. As I have been mentioning plenty in recent weeks, Alfreton’s form in 2012 would be good enough to see them bang in contention for a play-off spot and the bookies continue to underestimate them. They lost to York on Easter Monday, when the exertions of recent weeks just caught up with them against a strong side. Last Saturday saw them draw 0-0 with Luton and they seemed good value for a point as well. It was good to see them respond well to a defeat and is proof that the players aren’t giving up just because they are safe. To be fair to Newport they have only lost once in their last six games, although it’s no win in four and they have drawn three of those. A point against Darlington saw them safe for another season although that has to go down as a disappointing result. After their 1-1 draw against York on Saturday manager Justin Edinburgh mentioned how tired his players had looked and that seemed to be the case with their disappointing performance on Tuesday night. They seem to be limping towards the end of the season and now they are safe minds will firmly be on the FA Trophy Final next month. No player is going to want to risk themselves either being suspended or injured prior to the big game and even without that factor I would still fancy an away win. I really don’t understand what the majority of bookmakers are looking at when they have priced this game up because there is no way Alfreton should be as big as 13/5 (bet365). It is no surprise to me to see that Blue Square are shortest on Alfreton given they know the league better than anyone but I would even be happy to back an away win at their 15/8. It really does look a cracking bet and hopefully the one selection this weekend will provide us with a nice profit.

  5. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league April 16-18 Again thats what the commentators were saying if he had of gone down it would have been a penalty and a red card, but how can he give a yellow card and a corner, that makes no sense although of course I havent seen it only heard it. The one thing you in your favour is the fact that the team seems a lot more confident and that is always a huge factor for me. Obviously its still all to play for, but I gave no chance before and if you get into the play-offs you will have to be in form to do so, which means you have to be considered.

  6. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league April 16-18 Kev I thought it was a penalty once the commentators had said the ref had seen the tug on Fleetwood's shirt so was very confused as to why it was a corner. They could not believe it wasnt a red card either and said you would not see a more blatent red card. Just seems like a very odd chain of events from the ref. Luckily for you it didnt matter to the result. Now Fleetwood has started scoring, seems like Buckle is playing him in the right position, I am beginning to think you might have a chance in the play-offs.

  7. Re: BBOTD Tuesday 17th of April

Backed him EW thought I was nailed on for a place' date=' nevermind. I agree addpea Flook is top notch.[/quote'] Then you were very lucky not to collect. His jumping seems to have become an issue though as he has already failed to get round twice this season. His other winner at Exeter Rumbury Grey looks a future Foxhunter winner to my eye.
  8. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league April 16-18 Well done to Ships I did his Buxton and Wealdstone in a double which keeps me ticking over. Tooting played with forward in goal for the whole game and were truely shocking all over the pitch from the sounds of it. Well done Kev who just about collected with his bet although fully deserved to from what I heard.

5.20 KEMPTON QOZAK @ 16/1 STAN JAMES I'm risking the wrath of the Addpea by selecting this one! Rated 140 for Nicholls and I remember backing at Taunton when it led from start to finish, hopefully it will be able to do something similar today. Still only an 8yo unlike some of his rivals today who are on the downgrade. Has in my opinion one on the best Jockeys on the PTP scene and if getting his own way in front could make them all go today. Versitile regarding ground, would have gone EW but need a big price winner to get me back on track this month.
A bit unlucky as he was still going well when he fell. Not sure he would have beaten the winner but was giving you a cracking run for your money. For me Steve Flook is the best trainer of a hunter chaser around.
  10. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league April 16-18 I dont like agreeing with Kev :p and I wont be having a bet myself, but I do think he could be on to a winner. Ebbsfleet are capable as they proved when they drew the reverse fixture 2-2 earlier in the season, a game I was at. The problem for them though is they tend to struggle against the betteer teams in the league and their last 6 games have backed this up. Its also worth saying that Alfreton are basically a top 6 side at the moment and I would ignore their league position so going up there and getting a point was a decent effort. Luton shouldnt have to many problems tonight and if they do then its goodbye play-offs.

Ha ha no wrath from me. To be fair the horse is overpriced and I was tempted to back him myself. The problem is his form in points this season is not that strong. I saw him finish 3rd on his seasonal debut and it wasnt a race as strong as this although he did have a wind op after that. The trip will suit and as you say the jockey is a big plus (most of the time its ridden by his owner in points and she is shocking). Im not backing him but I was very surprised he was this big a price.
  12. Didn't really get that much publicity on the morning line to be fair. If they did take that bet then you can be certain it will be from one of their profitable punters. I am always highly suspect of these supposedly large bets placed though. Sent from my HTC Desire S using PL Forum
