  1. Re: England > Midweek > Conference National > Tuesday 13 March 2012 I have to say that on the face of it I disagree with you about the Fleetwood result tonight. To go 1 up so late on in the game and not win is a costly two points dropped for me. As it stands Wrexham are in pole position with the game in hand and the fact they have to play each other. I still think Fleetwood will do it but tonight was not a good night for them.

  2. Re: Tues: 2.05 Arkle Challenge Trophy Its a PR thing as mileni says. I wouldnt even be certain they think he will get beat, but they just want to attract people to bet with them. I think they just want to do it with the first banker of the Festival and as there isnt one in the Supreme this year they have made it SS. I bet they would have done Hurricane Fly had the Arkle been wide open.

  3. Re: England > Midweek > Conference National > Tuesday 13 March 2012 Spot on about Kiddie being the better team in the first half against Fleetwood and they really should have been at least one to the good. For me the only difference between the two sides was the fact Fleetwood had the quality to put the ball in the net. Fleetwood didnt play well on Friday but I wonder if the extra day off might have helped, although I think Mansfield will be a tough test given the form they are in and they might be able to take advantage as Fleetwood have been under performed of late.

  4. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Mar 9-10 Ships has mentioned the Alfreton match and I will probably have a small bet on them. Hopefully they didnt score all their goals on Tuesday night and I dont think there is as much between the two sides as the betting suggests. Obviously Alfreton's away form hasnt been anything special, but Lincoln continue to miss more than they hit at the moment and its worth an interest.

  5. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Mar 9-10 Grimsby Town v Forest Green Rovers The home side continue their run up the table as they try and claim a play-off place, although they lost their first game since October on Tuesday night at Fleetwood. It has to be said they can consider themselves unfortunate to lose that one as Fleetwood’s late winner was not a penalty. Having watched Grimsby in action against Southport recently, and also having read the match reports to their games, it seems to me that they haven’t actually been playing that well of late. I was unimpressed with them in the Southport match and they were lucky to come away with the three points that evening. Their rivals on Saturday have been in decent form of late and the only team they have lost to in their last six is Fleetwood (ironically it was a very late winner by the league leaders that day as well). They have been hard to beat away from home all season, having only lost three on their travels. Solid defending has been the route of their success as they have only conceded 13 goals on the road. I don’t think there is too much between these sides and Stan James’ 3/1 on an away win looks too big to me. I am wary of the draw however as Forest Green have drawn eight times away from home so I will save on the draw at a general 5/2.

  6. Re: England > Weekend > FA Trophy Semi, BlueSQ Bet North & South Mar 10 Corby v Worcester Another team who look in a bit of trouble at the moment is Corby. I have written plenty about them recently, highlighting their problems at home and their strengths away. Corby have now lost seven on the bounce at home and things have started to go wrong on their travels as they lost their two away games in the past week, including a very disappointing 6-2 defeat at Harrogate. The reasons behind this are starting to come out as Corby’s assistant manager resigned after that loss and he said that he has not been paid for six weeks while several of the players were being asked to play for free. He also said that that dressing room morale is at rock bottom with players unhappy at not being told what is going on with the club`s finances in the wake of some senior players leaving. Now Worcester haven’t always been at their best on their travels but given that news they look a fantastic bet and to be fair the team really seem to be gelling now after signings were made during January. Losses at the start of the year turned into draws and have now become wins, having taken their last two and put in a very impressive performance on Saturday. Given Corby can’t buy a win at home, the team’s morale is so low and Worcester look in good shape, I really do fancy an away win strongly. Again it’s BetVictor who are best price at 9/5.

  7. Re: Cheltenham Chat

Where do they usually stock The Weekender? Had a look in Tesco today but couldn't find anything. Had a look in a newsagents too. Just fancied a bit of literature without having to browse the web.
It varies from place to place as some Tescos will stock it and others dont. I would say WH Smiths would be your best bet but I would just check anywhere that sells papers and I am sure you will find one eventually.
  8. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Mar 9-10 Fleetwood havent played well tonight but they have managed to get the result. The difference was a bit more class in front of goal as Kiddie had a couple of really good chances and hit the inside of the post. Jamie Vardy should have been sent off in the first half and some how didnt even get booked. To be fair the pitch was crap and that wouldnt have helped matters for either team.

  9. Re: Fri: 4.00 Christies Foxhunter Chase Thats a little harsh Bogside especially as the Gold Cup winning jockey could be riding in this year's race. It is the amateur Gold Cup and a massive race in its own right. As for Description he fell in very testing conditions at Haydock last time and his jumping round Cheltenham is a concern. He will like the better ground though and has a good trainer in Alan Hill.

  10. Re: Fri: 4.00 Christies Foxhunter Chase Yes it was unusual to see her brush through those fences as shes never done it before. The unknown with her as you point out is the undulations of Cheltenham so we will just have to see how she copes, but for me its less of a worry than Chapoturgeon staying for example. I can see why people are tipping up Salsify but at the same I dont think they have looked at his Punchestown win where you would have issues about him staying the trip at Cheltenham. I think people have just gone oh he won at Punchestown without actually thinking about how he did it. Having said that if I was to add a 5th horse to the shortlist it would probably be him. Glad you like the write-up as well.
