  1. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Mar 24 I must admit 5/4 on Barrow is even tempting me a bit. I just wonder if what happened behind the scenes a few weeks back is catching up with them though and that is why the poor form of late and as I said last week I do wonder if it might continue until the end of the season. Having said that its a long trip for a part time side who as you point out have been poor away from home. I usually leave Barrow games alone but that price looks on the face of it bigger than it should be.

  2. Re: A Question & Idea Its funny you mention advertising because I came across this site purely by chance when searching for non league tips on google and the non-league pages on here came up one day. I still cant believe I hadnt come across the site sooner because for non league betting it has to be the best out there and I certainly havent seen better if there is. Thus I dont think a little bit of advertising could do any harm because you will get good people and you just need to be strict on people who come on and post pointless stuff. I also think its a great idea to allow people to have sites/blogs in their sigs. I know I would like to have mine on there.

  3. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem Mar 24 I think Brabin has really struggled as Luton boss and agree with everything you say about him and the team. I just wonder if the pressure is too much for him and the players to handle. At the start of the season it looked like they may struggle up front and so it has proved and when he had a chance to bring fresh blood in he signed a player who now hasnt scored a goal for over a year. It seems daft playing Fleetwood out wide as that doesnt play to his strengths. It wouldnt surprise me if he got the sack if they were to lose on Saturday.

  4. Re: Question Of The Day The thing is you would expect that from RUK. There is no way that you could do what RUK do on C4 or BBC. I quite enjoyed the C4 coverage last week and even if I had RUK I would still watch it on C4 as the in depth stuff on RUK bores me a fair bit of the time. Yes it wasnt perfect and I would make some changes, but I think it did the job it sets out to do pretty well.

  5. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 19-21 Well done guys. That Mansfield match sounds a very odd game. Good job I left Telford alone as they lost although I would have backed Forest Green if they hadnt of lost to Hayes on Saturday. Luton have a shocking record in mid-week games this season and I think its even worse if you only look at away games.

  6. Re: England > Midweek > Non-league Mar 19-21 Gateshead should win but they have had some very poor results for no real reason. Having said that as you point out Hatch and Shaw should get plenty of chances from a ropey Bath defence tonight. Again Mansfield should win tonight but the price hardly grabs me and it will be a tough game for them. I was tempted by AFC Telford at 5/6 to beat Kettering as it sounds like they have been really bad of late, but Telford arent prolific scorers especially away from home. So nothing for me tonight again as I am probably still a bit behind after missing out on Saturday as well and still need to catch up, also Tuesday's have proven to be a right lottery at times this season. Good luck all those playing tonight.

  7. Re: Did anyone back Kauto Star ? I think a lot of people go online for most things now and betting is one of them. I would imagine those recreational punters having a bet on the Gold Cup also bet on other sports as well. I can quite believe that Kauto had more bets on him than Long Run. I backed Kauto e/w because if he was well then he would have been in the three. As it happened he obviously hadnt got over his fall but I guess I hoped he had and with Kauto I do think anything is possible. If he were mine I would give him one more run in the King George.

  8. Re: Question Of The Day I think people need to see that there needs to be a difference between ATR/RUK and C4 and BBC. If you want hardcore racing advice then you are going to subscribe to RUK and watch their output over C4. However if you only have a bet on a Saturday and the big meetings then C4 is going to be exactly what you want and those people arent going to want to watch ATR or RUK. It doesnt surprise me C4 and BBC coverage gets slated on racing forums because they are the hardcore. I do think C4 need to freshen things up presenter wise, but I enjoyed the Cheltenham coverage last week as I do like to have features in between races which I prefer to watching loads of re-runs of the race that has just happened. The problem ATR have is they have to many people on there who clearly have made no effort to prep a meeting and just try and wing it and boy does it show. If you watch RUK you know both presenters and pundits will have put the ground work in beforehand.

  9. Re: A Question & Idea I dont post my tips on here because I dont often write a full preview for my hunter chase tips so its not going to be able to go on here. Also when I look at how many people actually view the threads for each days racing it hardly seems worth it. Today there was 44 views for the jump racing thread so it doesnt seem worth me doing extra work when hardly anyone is going to look at it. I like the threads where we discuss topics and its something everyone can have a view on regardless as how good their betting is. Also everyone seems pretty sensible on here so regardless of your opinion you can have a sensible debate. I know you worked hard on getting the offers Paul but to me (and Im sure many others on here) they were pointless as I have accounts with all the bookmakers and the offers were only if you opened new accounts. Obviously the comps for Cheltenham tickets and free bets were great and I think its better to focus on them. Maybe next year it could be the Punters Lounge Mares Hurdle as well ;)

  10. Re: Question Of The Day I bet Liam didnt mind the fact she took the mick out of his teeth given the fact he got a free new set. Lets hope C4 use this as time to improve and freshen up the presenting line up. They have pretty much used the same set of presenters for years now and its time for a change.

  11. Re: Question Of The Day From what I have read its nothing to do with the BBC being skint, they actually bid more for the rights than C4 but C4 were chosen so all the racing would be in one place. It was thought that C4 would stop pushing the likes of the Grand National because they didnt show it. I think its a shame because viewing figures will drop. BBC1 gets more viewers for things than C4 and that will be the case here. I think racing has shot itself in the foot here and worth thinking that now C4 have all the rights they are in a great position to offer a cheaper bid next time around. At the moment Sky cant get involved as the Derby and GN are protected and ITV show no sign of wanting to show racing. Its a poor decision for me.

  12. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet Prem, FA Trophy Mar 17 I am not sure it is going to be that easy where Barrow are concerned. They have lost all chance of a play-off place now and I just wonder if they might continue to have a pretty ropey end to the season. Having said that the most impressive performance I have seen this season came from Mansfield when they beat Newport 5-0 earlier in the season. I was so impressed I backed them for the league on the back of it and although they then became very inconsistant, it is no surprise to me that they have got it all back together again and are right back in the play-off picture. Amazingly for such a competitive league it looks like two teams are going to get over 100 points this season and the rest are a long way behind.

  13. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet North & South Mar 17 You can get 5/6 about Halifax with BetVictor. They might well win but it doesnt strike me as value. Like you I cant find anything. Not sure if its because Ive been focusing on Cheltenham all week and not had time until now to have a look but nothing appeals, although Worcester are a fair shout and I might stick them in with a couple of other shorties for a small acca.

  14. Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet North & South Mar 17 I thought we had a chance up there to be honest. We beat Guiseley last week and have produced some great results away from home this season. The two signings have put me off, but at the same time I wouldnt want to go rushing at short odds on Halifax. I saw us on Monday night and we look in pretty decent shape at the moment.

  15. Re: Fri: 3.20 Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup Think your missing my point. Kauto has been a much better horse this season and I dont think Long Run has really been any worse. Kempton suits Kauto more than Long Run and the trip today suits Long Run better than Kauto. You (and others) make out like Long Run has been getting stuffed all season.

  16. Re: Fri: 3.20 Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup How is Long Run not the same horse he was last year? You take Kauto Star out and he would be unbeaten this season and was gaining with every stride on him at Kempton. It was a solid effort last time giving Burton Port 10lbs (something people seem to be forgetting) and that horse could bounce. I do think the jockey is a small negitive because I dont think he has handled the pressure well this season, but he won the race on the horse last year. I want Kauto to win but think Long Run probably will as I think he is the better stayer. His jumping is a concern but he made mistakes in the race last year and he has never looked liked falling. I must admit I am starting to think Synchronised has a chance actually he might get third but still needs to find improvement to beat the top two in the market

  17. Re: Cheltenham Chat I wonder if McCain hoped Peddlers would be at his best so talked himself into saying he was thrilled with him. Maybe he just isnt good enough over fences and he will be back over hurdles next season apparently. Lynch switched because he didnt want to get into a battle with Big Bucks which is why Ruby moved him over in the first place as he wanted him to have some company to keep him going. So both jocks were being clever but VLV wouldnt have won whatever he did, although she ran a cracker.
