  1. Re: Tennis: US Open yeah agreed on Safin/Melzer.He could produce one last performance...thing is I can't actually put real money on him.Only time I've backed him in years was in monte carlo this year against Hewitt because Hewitt was only flying in that day after winning in Houston I think.Clearly had no chance but still two tough sets. Also seen De Brito's price...seems very big to me at 4/1.Value if anything.

  2. Re: Tennis: US Open Another for tomorrow.Still waiting for Suarez-Navarro match: Melzer over Safin @ 8/11 Melzer looking quite good last week in New Haven getting a few wins under his belt.Has played quite well here before...led murray 2-0 here last year before losing.Have had mixed luck backing Melzer in the past, not really reliable player. On the other side though is Safin.Coming to the end of his career, not playing great anymore, no patience and losing the head from time to time. Will side with Melzer here but potentially a long match.Might also look into overs market tomorrow. GL!

  3. Re: Tennis: US Open Just placed bet on match tomorrow A.Radwanska over Kirilenko @ 1/2 Suspect price will drop here.Kirilenko is good player, losing to higher ranked players mostly throughout summer.Should happen again here.Radwanska is smart player, solid tactics and not many unforced errors.Served ok in first round win over Mayr. She retired last week against Razzano in New Haven with wrist/hand injury but showed no ill effects yesterday. Will take the price here.

  4. Re: Tennis: US Open So it seems Suarez-Navarro and Troicki are the certainties for today...:lol..we'll see. Very tempted to go with Troicki now after all the talk - the recent injuries put me off. Thing is I've never seen Luczak on HC(and not much matches at all) before but thats mainly because he rarely plays on it.Just know I'll regret not backing Troicki at this price so might do it.

  5. Re: Tennis: US Open Couple of matches catch the eye today. Suarez-Navarro over Lepchenko @ 5/6 This looks great price to me.Lepchenko got some decent results in New Haven beating Craybas and Olaru but Navarro is better player.Good player to watch with nice backhand.Has lost in the early rounds of recent tournaments so form not as great as it can be...maybe the reason bookies make this an even match. But she's performed in the grand slams this year reaching 1/4 in Oz and 3rd round in Rolland Garros and Wimbledon.Yet to make her mark in New York but this is great chance to reach second round.Confident of win here. Safarova over Schnyder @ 5/6 Think Safarova is good player capable of climbing higher in the rankings than she is now.Looks in good form after run to 1/4 final in Toronto beating some good players before losing to Serena.Schnyder has done well here in the past but looks like player on the decline to me.Safarova can be quite erratic at times but has got the game to win this one.Might be tough match however. GL!

Just placed one more double to hopefully recoup Gil loss: Stepanek x Hantuchova @1/2 As Cramer said above, this looks like bad match-up for Bolelli against Stepanek.Very tricky player to play with his strong serve and serve/volley tactics.Expect a win here but going by today's results it could go the distance. Hantuchova plays Shaughnessy and she is far superior player.Always dangerous player to back as she can be inconsistent but should have little problem here.
WIN 3win-1loss for tournament...hopefully more today
  7. Re: Tennis: US Open Cramer...dunno if you know that Dokic was down with mono the last few weeks...the same thing which plagued Federer last year.Would of been hard for her to train and apparently she was bed-ridden for a while.Makes Flipkens seem like a value choice here. I'd say no bet myself but who knows.

PS: bad luck to guys who backed Rochus over Ilhan. He had so many opportunities to win this.Choke if I've ever seen one.

Not a whole lot going on today from what I can see.Have placed money already on: Gil to beat Devvarman @5/6 Watched some of Gil's matches last week in New Haven and he played some good stuff, before losing to Andreev.Devvarman also had some decent wins over last few weeks and came through qualifiers pretty easily.Think Gil has more to hs game though and is superior player....in a 50/50 match I'm happy to side with Gil here. Hanescu looks a decent shout against Isner but this match will probably be decided a a tie-break or two. Also as mentioned earlier, not quite sure why Ilhan is a fave against Rochus.Granted Rochus is a mug, it still looks decent value. Tomorrow's card looks a bit better so more then. GL!
    LOSS 2WIN - 1LOSS for the tournament.
  10. Re: Tennis: US Open My god this Ilhan/Rochus match is terrible.Rochus served for the match in the 4th at 5-4, got broke, and had 2 or 3 break points at 5-5.Didn't take them and now has lost the set 7-5.Into the 5th set. My Gil bet looks gone. He's two sets down so apologies if anyone took it.Can't find a stream for the game.

Not a whole lot on today from what I can see.Gonna do one double: Bellucci x Querrey @ 1.82 Querrey match from the New Haven tournament where he plays Acasuso. He has a winning h2h record over him and has had a great summer in the US reaching 3 finals and beating some big names.Watched a bit of his match with Davydenko yesterday and he was serving very well - a great win for him against a player who can return very good.Acasuso is finding a bit of form it seems - good serve and strong forehand...had some good wins but long matches aswell.May not deal so well with Querreys serve.Surprised if Querrey doesn't win this. Bellucci should make main draw over Jenkins.Superior player and had good wins already, one over young Dimitrov who has good natural ability. Also took set off JMDP in main draw last year.Expect a win here. GL!
    win:ok

Zeballos x Falla @ Evens Zeballos plays Bubka in qualifiers today.Superior player and he's in good form winning couple of challenger events in recent months and good win over Malisse in last round.Bubka got some nice wins in his last challenger event over Amritraj and Devvarman but should fall today.Falla in good form and has beaten some good players in Washington and Montreal like Gulbis, Sela, Lapentti and took a set off Simon.Good win over Amritraj in first round qualifier and is better player than Niland, who looks very average the couple of times I've seen him. GL!
    WIN...:ok

  16. Re: Tennis:ATP/WTA New Haven 23-29 August

Dent over Kunitsyn @ 5/6 Dent trying to re-gain some form after many poor losses this year.A good straight sets win over Ljubicic in last round was good for him...served pretty well and didn't give Ljubicic a whole lot of chances.Kunitsyn coming from Cincinnatti where he lost to Davydenko. It'a a 50:50 match but happy to side with Dent here. GL!
