  1. Re: Wimbledon 2014 Dimitrov vs Leo Mayer OVER 32.5 games @ 4/5 Paddy Power Dimitrov is in form but this is not a high line really....he will need a clean 3 setter to cover it. Not usually a fan of Mayer on the grass but he served alot of aces in the first two rounds beating Seppi and Baghdatis which are solid wins that I wouldn't have expected.Dimitrov should come through but I can see Mayer making life difficult, maybe taking a set.

  2. Re: French Open 2014 Good to see some of the old crew still tipping around. Will go with a few tomorrow, all Pinnacle odds. Simon to beat Raonic @ 2.780 Raonic has taken some big scalps this season and had a good showing in Rome but i still look to oppose him once the slams start progressing. He's got a massive game but still some big holes in it...vesely choked in the first two sets in round 2 or that one could have got very tricky. I'm playing the odds here, Simon can make life tough for anyone on his day and I can see him making this into a tough battle for Raonic. Value at these odds i think.

  3. Re: Chelsea v Atlético de Madrid > Wednesday April 30th This is gonna be another dogfight and probably low scoring. Id imagine under 2.5 is terribly priced on that notion. Two cautious managers who place alot of emphasis on solidity and shape. Atletico are best suited to countering and you could see it didnt suit them in the first leg when they were trying to break Chelsea down as opposed to playing Barca where they will have the ball but you can defend and break on the counter. An early Chelsea goal would really set this tie up well. I'd love to see Atletico reach a final with the season they're having but gut feeling is that its gonna be one of those momentous home nights at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea. But I wouldnt be overly tempted to back Chelsea in 90 minutes.

  4. Re: FC Bayern München v Real Madrid > Tuesday April 29th Need to think more about this one but that price on Bayern looks a joke tbh. Bayern will dominate possession but they havent impressed me in the matches vs Arsenal, United or Madrid in all honesty. We were battering them at the Emirates until we went down to 10 men and then got a draw with a patched up team in Munich. United were in the tie until late in the second leg and we know the season they are having. Munich had a problem creating clear chance in Madrid, alot of sterile possession and only Robben trying anything different. Ribery was shackled well. Should be intriguing as Bayern will have all the ball but Madrid are the most dangerous counter-attacking side in Europe. The only question would be whether their defence can hold up and maintain discipline, not make mistakes as Bayern will be up to their antics, looking for pens. Can definitely see Madrid scoring, BTTS has to be an option here. I would have had Bayern priced close to 2.50.

  5. Re: Serie A > September 16th - 22nd Napoli to beat AC Milan @ 9/5 (Betvictor) Ideal time to be playing Milan I think. Napoli are in great shape right now, Hamsik in beast form and they were very good against Dortmund in midweek. Napoli made some good moves in the Summer signing Higuain, Callejon, Albiol, Reina and they have barely missed Cavani. Milan on the other hand have had a ropey start to this season. Injuries to people like El Sharaawy, Montolivo, Kaka, Pazzini and they will rely on Balotelli and Robinho breaking down Napoli. I do think Milan will have a hard time doing that and can see Napoli scoring a couple in the San Siro. Away win for me.

  6. Re: Wimbledon 2013

Spot on - unlike your 'Southampton are obviously going to be relegated' vom!! Ha ha ;) Incredibly pleased for AM but that was never the 'match of his life' as Sue Barker immediately described it and it was possibly on of NDs worst of recent times. AM too far behind the baseline too often and both made countless unforced errors compared to their usual high standard. Result all that matters but no point in not seeing what actually happened. Well done to all the winners.
Haha, yeah I thought Southampton were dead and buried at one stage! But ye got some big wins to pull away from the pack.
  7. Re: Wimbledon 2013 As for the final, did anyone else think it was quite a low-quality match from both? Djokovic was quite bad, and even Murray wasnt great imo. Not as good as his US Open, Olympics matches. But novak couldnt serve to save his life today, made tons of errors too. Really disappointing match in my view. Federer must be thinking he has another good year in him as the quality today and in the AO final was not beyond him.

  8. Re: Wimbledon 2013 I'd price it Novak 1.8 Murray 2.1 Cant say Murray is playing as well as Djokovic though, just need to look at the semi-finals to see that. Djokovic faced a player who would have taken out most of the tour with his performance, but for 2 or 3 players.

  9. Re: Wimbledon 2013 I think Djokovic will win today, but the prices aren't tempting at all. More value on Murray at first glance as it will surely be a 4 or 5 setter. But I really don't think Murray is playing well enough to beat Novak today. He has had a ridiculously easy draw yet is still making a pig's ear of it, Verdasco would have taken him out if he had some stones and came to the net more often. And Janowicz in a slam semi is laughable really, he is just not ready for that match but acquitted himself well winning a set but his return game, baseline game needs alot of work to compete with a top player. Big plus for Murray is the crowd behind him and Djokovic won't like that as we've seen in other events like the French where the crowd supports Fed and Nadal against him. But Murray is giving chances on his second serve and I fancy Djokovic to get into plenty of his service games and take this in 4 or 5. No bets for me though, but it's been a very profitable grass season.

  10. Re: Wimbledon 2013 Womens R16 - Kanepi to beat Robson @ 4/5 (Stan James:4pts) Erakovic should have won yesterday, she dominated Robson for the first two sets before a major choke at the finishing line, and she never recovered. Fair play to Robson, she hung in there and the crowd helped her too. But I think this is the end of the line for her. For me, Kanepi is the better player in this one, she also has a big game with a serve and can fire winners. My main concern is again if she can manage the crowd as Kanepi has some problems mentally. I watched her first round vs Tara Moore and she was woeful, could have got knocked out there but she improved majorly against Kerber to win a pretty high quality match in 3 sets. Comfortably beat Riske yesterday aswell, and Riske does like the grass. I feel it's on Kanepi tomorrow, I think she's the better player and hopefuly she can manage nerves if she gets in a winning position. :hope

  11. Re: Wimbledon 2013 Llodra is well-known scumbag mate. We've mentioned it before in threads - where's Slider when you need him?..........:lol Anyway, thought my Zemlja +handicap bet was gonna be close but it turns out he might win that match, Dimitrov has been the better player in almost every set but he's not a top player yet for me. Too many holes in his game. But great fight by Zemlja.......:)

  12. Re: Wimbledon 2013 Mens R2 - Zemlja +7 games AH vs Dimitrov @ 5/6 (Sportingbet:4pts) Big line for Dimitrov to cover here I think. Wouldn't think too much of his win over Bolelli who has had serious problems with injuries and is in no shape at all this year. I actually think Dimitrov is quite overrated when you listen to the media talk about him, but he has some weapons and is clear fave here. But I think Zemlja can be competitive in this one, he served 18 aces against Russell and has taken sets off some big players at Wimbledon in past years like Verdasco, Monfils. Do think he can play a few competitive sets with Dimitrov who can be sloppy at times, makes errors on returns and plays a high risk game. Even in a 3-0 loss, this line has a chance. :hope

  13. Re: Wimbledon 2013 That looks pretty good. Murray has a cakewalk to the final really, his potential semi-final opponent is a laughable list of players including Almagro/Janowicz/Paire who he will comfortably deal with Djokovic ironically has the harder draw now after starting in the 'easy' half with the likes of Haas/Lopez, Berdych, Ferrer/Delpo floating around. Really he will beat those guys but I think Haas is potentially the toughest match-up if he comes through Feli(assuming both win) as he is serving from a tree right now. Anyway, seems like Tomic pulled out of doubles with an injury - could be precautionary but I heard he had a time-out vs Querrey aswell and was struggling a bit. Could be a problem facing Blake tomorrow - I personally would never put real money on James Blake in 2013 but food for thought at least.

  14. Re: Wimbledon 2013 Mens R2 - Hewitt vs Brown OVER 33.5 games @ 1.83 (PPower:4pts) Rusty is playing some immense tennis right now, proper grass court tennis and it's great to see him outplaying the likes of Wawrinka, Del Potro in recent weeks. I do think he will come through today aswell but Brown is certainly capable of making it more competitive than the odds suggest with his style of play and powerful serve. Hewitt in tight 3 or 4 sets is my feeling. Womens R2 - Cetkovska +1.5 sets vs Wozniacki @ 1.847 (Pinnacle:3pts) Can only agree with the lads on this one. I really dont like Wozniacki and her boring pusher style, but you need to play smart tennis to beat her, try to make keep the errors low and go for you shots as Wozniacki wont do much different bar move the ball from side to side. I was on Cetkovska vs Vekic and she destroyed the youngster, and appears to be playing well. She has some variety to trouble Wozniacki here and get a set at least.

  15. Re: Wimbledon 2013 Wouldn't class Murray as more powerful, more consistent yes. Federer is simply getting older, footwork is slower leading to more errors, serve not as big as it was. It happens in sport. Anyway, I'd say Federer was the big winner from Nadal's exit and I'd expect the winner of Wimbledon to come from that match - Federer vs Murray, if it indeed happens.

  16. Re: Wimbledon 2013 Mens R1 - Roger-Vasselin +5.5 games vs Gulbis @ 2.00 (Stan James) Gulbis has stepped his game up a bit this year but he's not trustable in slams, and ERV can play on the grass. Lost to Lu last week which isnt great but Lu can also play on the grass, but he did take Tsonga to 3 at Queens. Gulbis is favourite but I can see a couple of tight sets, possibly going to 4 so I'd give the line a shot here. Mens R1 - Benneteau vs Kamke OVER 3.5 sets @ 1.72 (Bet365) They played a tough 5 setter at the French Open a few weeks ago. Benneteau is favourite but he does a little short to me here.....not fussed with handicaps as either player can lose easy sets so rather go against either winning in straights. Think this one goes to 4 at least.

  17. Re: Wimbledon 2013 Mens R1 - Donskoy +4 games vs Isner @ 1.877 (Pinnacle) Donskoy beat him a week ago and Isner isnt great on the Wimbledon grass. Plus his style lends itself to tight matches, dominates on serve but not good on return. Should be a couple of tight sets and I'd say more than 3 so I give the line a shot here. Womens R1 - Cetkovska to beat Vekic @ 2.290 (Pinnacle) Vekic is the new young star on the tour, and you have to be impressed but this looks like a coin toss of a match to me. Vekic did brilliantly getting to the final in Birmingham losing to Hantuchova...great result for her and she has a good game, really goes for her shots. But Cetkovska can play and has experience...she has been injured for alot of the year but did reach round 3 of the French and has won matches at Wimbledon in past years. Has variety and comes forward at times so I think she can disrupt the youngster, and worth a go as an underdog imo. :hope Good luck for Wimbledon everyone! Looking forward to it, best slam of the year easily.

  18. Re: June 17 - June 23 WTA Eastbourne: Beygelzimer to beat Robson @ 4.160 (Pinnacle:2/10) Small punt here for me. Why not? She may lose easily but this is Laura Robson we are talking about - wildly inconsistent and she's not reliable at short odds imo. She has a big game and can raise it against top players at times but when her serve isnt working, her game pretty much unravels, loads of errors. One grass match under her belt, losing to Hantuchova, no shame there. Beygelzimer qualified here so has some matches in her legs....beat Bouchard and Cepelova. Hits the ball fairly hard but also makes alot of errors too. Not doing anything serious this week in terms of betting, just a couple of value punts here or there, see how it goes. :hope

  19. Re: June 10 - June 16 Yeah frankly crazy odds on Federer there. Haas is in the best shape he's been in for years and he's quality on grass. Federer is obviously the master on the green stuff but the match will surely be closer than those odds suggest. I'd say Haas on a + handicap, overs games(if line is 21 or 22), tie-break or Haas to win a set are all viable options in that one.

  20. Re: June 10 - June 16 WTA Birmingham: Rybarikova to beat Keys @ 2.00 (Bet365:2/10) Should be a good match here. Keys is the younger player, beginning to make some waves on the main tour. She has some big shots and seems to like the grass, despite limited experience on it. She came through narrow wins over Tsurenko and Hampton before beating Barthel easily yesterday.....good results even though I dont read too much into the Barthel win as she is truly horrible right now and would struggle to beat most in this form...error machine. Rybarikova is the more experienced player here and loves the grass....she won this event back in 2009. She had a tight one with Johansson and then a good win over Flipkens which was a tricky match. Keys has the bigger game but gonna go with the more experienced player, and Rybarikova has some variety to thrown in. Tight one but willing to play her at EVEN money. :hope

  21. Re: June 10 - June 16 WTA Birmingham: Lisicki vs Lucic OVER 20.5 games @ 5/6 (Bet365:3/10) Two girls who like the grass here. Lisicki had a fairly comfy 6-4 6-2 win over Pliskova but I feel this one might be a little tougher. You never know what you'll get with Lucic but she does like the grass and has the game for it. All depends on how she's serving today to see if she can keep it tight...she's got a coupe of easy wins so far this week over the other Pliskova and handily beat Wickmayer aswell with a bagel thrown in. Winning alot of pts behind her first serve. Think she can give Lisicki something to think about here, at least make one set tight or maybe nick one. :hope

  22. Re: US Open 13-16 Jun Tiger is overrated by the bookies as per usual. He's having a good year overall despite a horrible showing at the Memorial, but its been a long while since he won a major. Never any value in his prices. I wouldn't be putting money on Mickelson or Rory either. McDowell might not be a bad play here - he's looking good right now, has the game to do well here. Kuchar is in good shape too. Maybe old dog Cabrera can put it together at a big price. Should be some value about in the high priced players.

  23. Re: June 10 - June 16 ATP Queens: Rosol vs Groth OVER 22.5 @ 8/11 (PPower:4/10) You'd expect some close sets here. Rosol is a big hitter, first match on grass after the clay season. Groth is very one-dimensional, not much to him bar serve but he's played some grass matches in the last few days and I can see a close enough match here. ATP Queens: Malisse +4.5 games vs Del Potro @ 5/6 (Skybet:5/10) Malisse didnt seem too impressive against GGL yesterday but got the win, and he does have some pedigree on the grass. He's comfortable on it. Del Potro returning from injury after missing the French, doesnt like the grass too much, like most Argentinians bar Nalbandian. Seems like a decent line for Delpo to cover on his return...fancy Malisse to play a competitive match in this one. :hope
