  1. Re: West Bromwich Albion v Arsenal > Sat 6th April I think we are worth a bet at Even money. West Brom are a tough outfit but I wouldnt be overly impressed with them recently. West Ham murdered them at the weekend, good 0-0 at Stoke, and beat Swansea 2-1 at home which should have been a draw as Swansea had a clear goal called off at the end. they're a dogged outfit and dont get detroyed too often so I think it will be a hard fought game on Saturday...but we are coming on strong now in this part of the season as we look to displace Spurs or Chelsea. Vermaelen has been benched and we look tighter without him as Koscielny is simply better at actual defending rather than scoring goals. Wilshere is still out but it hasnt made any impact really, we actually look more balanced in midfield without him and Cazorla has been excellent for a while now, is always threatening. Walcott should be back, Podolski returned last week...Giroud&Gervinho scored along with Cazorla, and Chamberlain is looking sharp in recent weeks for the first time this season so I think we are in good shape for the run-in and well equipped to get the win at the Hawthorns. Should be tough, WBA dont roll over at home but I'll say a 2-1 Arsenal win.

  2. Re: Reading v Southampton > Sat 6th April Not great odds on Southampton IMO, I was hoping for at least 3.00. They are clearly in better shape than Reading right now but their best displays have been at home recently and I just cant justify backing them as a good fave. I think it will be a hard fought game, possibly a draw but at best for Soton a narrow win. I would price it: Reading 2.50 Soton 3.00 or at least somewhere in between around 2.7-2.90 for both.

  3. Re: Sunderland v Manchester United > Sat 30th March Man United to beat Sunderland @ 7/10 (William Hill:10pts) What is this price? I expected United to be 1/2 here. Sunderland are pure muck tbh, rubbish season from them and Martin O'Neill considering some of the players they have and money that's been spent. United have Chelsea in the cup so may make some changes but they can do it comfortably and I expect a professional performance from them like when they went to QPR a few weeks back...keep it solid at the back and there's a goal or two in it for them. Sunderland look terrible whenever I see them, and the fans look pissed off, their main goal threat is injured now in Fletcher and Cattermole gone too. Sunderland are in real danger of going down IMO if they slip in the next few. United have the league won but will get the win today, I have no doubt about it. Professional performance IMO, Sunderland are blunt and United have the firepower to get it done, regardless of whether he picks RVP, Rooney or the other two. Man United 2-0 win for me. Full bet on United win, let's get it done. :hope

  4. Re: Swansea City v Arsenal > Sat 16th March

absolute banker here for me Swansea to win at around 5/2 which i cannot beleive Swansea do well against arsenal and have won thier last 3 home games. They are not afraid to attack and Arsenal will concede here.
Jeez Bowlesy, you alrite mate? Banker? I thought a draw was possible here but it seems we have found a formula how to play Swansea in the last couple(2-0 away, 1-0 home, 2-2 in cup which we should have won). They didnt test our keeper at all yesterday, played them perfectly.
  5. Re: Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham > Sun 17th March Great result for Fulham, and Arsenal tbh. Spurs are wobbling when it counts as usual and Arsenal will YET AGAIN finish ahead of them. They were lucky to beat us and West Ham, but its caught up with them this week with 3 losses in a row. Spurs have some hard games coming up and we will get them, I've no doubt about that. C'MON!!

  6. Re: Everton v Manchester City > Sat 16th March Havent been impressed with Everton in 2013, pretty average side. Although they can often step it up at home to the better sides, I'd say draw at best for them here as I dont see enough firepower in the side - Jelavic is a donkey, Fellaini's performances have dipped compared to before Xmas. City look on the brink of some good form but I wouldnt back them to outright win this one. I'd say 1-1 draw right now.

  7. Re: Everton v Reading > Sat 2nd March

Much like Arsenal then A possible injury that hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet is that of Tim Howard. I'll be leaving the match alone, aside from a small Everton HT / Draw FT wager, and only because too many times have HT leads disappeared in the blink of a 2nd half mistake eye
Nope, we'll get Champions League like we do every single year. Everton are like Newcastle last year, nice for the fans to be around there but it's not realistically gonna happen. Too many superior sides above Everton and Liverpool are breathing down their necks now too. Anyway, Everton should win this one but the price doesnt appeal. They rarely seem to batter sides at home...they've won 6 from 13 home games this season with scores of 1-0, four 2-1 victories and a 3-1. 5 from 6 by a single goal. I can see another 2 or 3-1 win tomorrow for them.
  8. Re: Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal > Sun 3rd March BTTS has to be the bet here. Despite our leaky backline, we actually have one of the best defensive records in the league. Better than Spurs. But we will concede here and know how to score goals against Spurs and Villas-Boas' sides. Spurs fans getting cocky again after Bale pulled them out of a few games, they just never learn. Should be an interesting one.

  9. Re: FA Cup > 25th Jan - 27th Jan

Brighton vs Arsenal: Both Teams To Score @ 4/5 (Stan James:4pts) Fancy Brighton to give us a real game here. They were great vs Newcastle in the last round, crowd getting behind them, playing the ball on the deck and looking up for it. Think they can cause us problems today, we are usually good to leak a goal so I can see Brighton scoring. We will also play to win, team should be fairly strong, I can only see a few changes at best but mostly a first team. Odds look fine on BTTS here, I'll take it.
WIN Standard clown defending from us, but we scored 3.

  11. Re: Arsenal v West Ham > Wed 23rd January Arsenal vs West Ham UNDER 3 goals AH @ 1.775 (Bet365:4pts) Think West Ham will come to defend here, they've looked really poor recently, lacking goal threat and guile. Can see them setting up to frustrate us and try to nick something as the game goes on. We've been on a pretty bad run ourselves, losing at home to City but we did have 10 men for the whole game virtually and then at Chelsea where we were terrible first half before dominating the second but just couldnt get that equaliser. Podolski should be back, Wenger said Diaby needs a check so I can see us lining up with Cazorla, Wilshere, Ramsey in midfield and Walcott, Podolski and one of Giroud/Oxlade-Chamberlain in attack. Really fancy us to beat West Ham tomorrow night, don't see them as much of an attacking threat, but they can frustrate us and we've not been free-scoring lately so a 1 or 2-0 to Arsenal would be my feeling.

  12. Re: Australian Open 2013 Some good calls lads. How gutting for Nico to lose to Ferrer yet again. He literally just cannot get over the line against him. Sad to see. Is it just me or is this the worst Grand Slam in recent memory? Not overly impressed and the bookies arent giving much away either.

  13. Re: Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United > Sun 20th January Man United 0 AH vs Spurs @ 1.862 (Pinnacle:5pts) United will get a result tomorrow IMO, and the odds look good to me. Spurs have been on a solid run over recent months but United look in good shape to me and are just a better side in certain key areas. Namely attack with Van Persie and Rooney, Spurs will have a hard time there and I dont see them shutting United out. If United can nullify Bale which I'm sure they'll set out to do with a hard-working winger(maybe Valencia) ahead of Rafael on that right side, I dont see Spurs getting a positive result here. Defoe is not a top player, he bullies rubbish sides but has little to his game bar shooting at every chance, United's lads will fancy themselves there. I'd say 2 or 3-1 to United, Van Persie scoring, maybe a pen or red in United's favour. They just get the job done. Spurs' win at Old Trafford was a fluke really, United had multiple chances to turn that around, hit all parts of the woodwork on the day. No worries, United to beat Spurs will usually get you money back on your investment.

  14. Re: Newcastle United v Reading > Sat 19th January He's been quite an average manager overall though. They had a good season last year but I wouldnt give an 8 year contract to the best managers, never mind Pardew. Mike Ashley is a certified clown running a football club too, not an ideal job when you have an owner who doesnt want to invest whats needed. Wonder how much Ashley will have to pay to remove Pardew, surely its gonna happen before the end of the season the way things are going.

  15. Re: Australian Open 2013 Kerber -3.5 games vs Makarova @ 8/11 (Paddy Power:3pts) Like Kerber here, she had a great year last year with major improvements to her game. She leads Makarova 3-2 in the h2h but Kerber's 3 wins came in 2012 and all in straights so i think she has the measure of Makarova nowadays. Makarova is a good player too, big lefty forehand and she can serve, but her movement isnt the best, she likes to be on the front foot dictating rallies but when you get her moving she can be exposed. Also Kerber is an unreal defender, supreme movement and she covers the court so well so she can force you into that extra shot. Bit mentally weak at times but I think her class will prevail here. Fancy her to get her 4th straight win over the Russian in this one. :hope

  16. Re: Australian Open 2013 Finally have some time off to properly watch tennis. Seppi vs Cilic OVER 37.5 games @ 4/5 (Paddy Power:4pts) Think this will be a 4 setter at least. Cilic is worthy favourite but they've had some tough matches in the past and you can see why with Seppi being steadier with less weapons, whereas Cilic has the weapons but plays a risky game that can desert him for spells. Seppi had a right old battle in Istomin in the heat and came through but the lad is pretty fit and playing well so I'd say he has loads in the tank to make this tough for Cilic. If Seppi can win a set then this line should have a chance at being covered. I'll take it. Federer -6.5 games vs Tomic @ 1.85 (Bwin:4pts) Can't see past Roger doing this pretty comfortably. Tough tough match-up for someone like Tomic whose movement is not great. Federer has beaten him well in the past and I expect him to dominate this one again. Federer's serve is more reliable and he should get some looks on Tomic's serve. Going with the great man to win with a bit to spare. Kohlschreiber to bt Raonic @ 2.310 (Pinnacle:2pts) This one looks like a 50:50 to me, you could make a case for either player imo and my first thought was to back the underdog whoever it is as I expect this to be close so there would be value somewhere. Raonic we all know will be hard to break, he was broken once by Rosol in the last round and once by Hajek in rd 1 which went to 4 sets. I wouldnt say he's playing quite as well as he was at times last year but he's still a very difficult opponent at the best of times. Kohli is very inconsistent but on his day he is quality and he's in good shape right now getting to the final in Auckland losing to Ferrer and winning 2 rounds here pretty easily, easy competition so far though. I think this will be a 4 or 5 setter tbh and can see Kohli getting chances to win this. Some of the sets will surely be decided by a point here or there, I'm willing to go on Kohli slightly above 2.30 in what I see as a tough match. He did take down Isner at the US Open so he can beat the big serving machines. :hope
