  1. Re: Swansea City v Liverpool > Sunday 25th November Yes, I agree and looking at the prices right now, I've decided to get involved. Liverpool are priced between 2.00-2.10 and really I would have them closer to 2.50 in what I would deem a pretty close match on paper and I expect it to play out like that aswell. Both sides have been hit and miss, home advantage for Swansea, settled style of play. Liverpool are improving no doubt but I would always be cautious when backing them, I dont trust Liverpool and opposing them in some capacity has been my most profitable strategy in the last 2 seasons. Yes they might win today but I am willing to go with Swansea who are priced at 3.80 at Pinnacle in what I'd deem a close match. Let's see. I have Suarez in my fantasy side so maybe there will be a silver lining should Pool actually win. Swansea +0.5 AH vs Liverpool @ 1.862 (Pinnacle:3pts)

  2. Re: Chelsea v Manchester City > Sunday 25th November I was tempted to back City earlier in the week but the whole Benitez saga changes the dynamic of the match for me. I'd still say there's some value on City tipping 3.00 odds but again, I dont think the new manager effect can be underestimated here, especially a cautious and tactically astute one like Benitez. With European matches in the midweek I think this one could fizzle out in the second half and a draw wouldnt shock me. Chelsea have been struggling but may seem rejuvenated today, while City seem to be picking up domestically and hitting some form. I'll have a small punt on the draw here for some interest in the match. Chelsea vs Man City: DRAW @ 3.530 (Pinnacle:1pt)

  3. Re: Swansea City v Liverpool > Sunday 25th November Blackcrow is on Liverpool AGAIN? Everybody pile into Swansea on the handicap!!!!!......:p Think a draw is a good possibility myself, actually feel Liverpool should be priced a little higher than 2.1ish but then I am one who believes they are a completely average side. Havent made a single bet this weekend though and wont today either.

  4. Re: Stoke City v Fulham > Saturday 24th November The loss of Ruiz and Hangeland is tough for Fulham but for some reason I am getting the feeling that they may get a result at the Britannia. They could partner Berbatov with Petric or Rodallega which is quite dangerous and better than what Stoke have got from what I can see. Or maybe Berbatov on his own flanked by wide players and then pack the midfield with Baird, Diarra and Sidwell. This screams close game to me and the odds are not far off what I would set them at. With Fulham's absentees, there's just enough reason for me to say no bet here but I can see Fulham nicking a point as Stoke's attacking play has been quite poor. IMO At best a narrow one goal win for Stoke, I just dont see them comprehensively beating many sides at this moment in time.

  5. Re: Aston Villa v Arsenal > Saturday 24th November As you mentioned, Benteke is the man to watch, looks like a poorer version of Drogba but a real handful. He absolutely manhandled Smalling when United went there. Looks like Bent returns(maybe to the bench) and he has a decent record against us over the years so there's another threat. Agbonlahor is one of these average pacey players who could cause a problem or two aswell. Villa's team looks quite horrid when I see it on paper but I think they'll be competitive. Right now I'm thinking an Arsenal win(i'll guess 2-1) with both teams scoring. Best of luck with your bet, I'm gonna swerve this one.

  6. Re: Aston Villa v Arsenal > Saturday 24th November Santos definitely won't be starting mate. Wenger has been picking Vermaelen ahead of him at left back in recent weeks where he is not comfortable. Also first choice in that role Gibbs is back for this, may or may not start though. Ballsy bet nonetheless, we tend to be vulnerable away from home and have looked shaky in defence recently. I'll be surprised if we dont concede.

  7. Re: Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham > Sunday 25th November I think Spurs will beat West Ham tbh, they've been on a poor run recently losing loads of games but I still wouldn't fancy West Ham away to a better side that can attack and cause problems. Adebayor will be banned though after his poor tackle on Cazorla last week and Spurs dont have much room to change players in the midfield/attacking positions. I'd say Spurs by the odd goal,. I think they are nearly at value territory the way the odds are currently set. Also worth noting that Dembele is on the bench away to Lazio in a few minutes so you'd think he should be ready to start on Sunday.

  8. Re: Manchester United v Queens Park Rangers > Saturday 24th November Can't see it really. At best I can see a spirited defeat for QPR, damage limitation job like 2 or 3-0. I know Blackburn did United at home last year at massive odds but United are rested for this after a dead rubber in Europe yesterday, some of QPR's defending has been schoolboy stuff and they wont keep out United's big guns.

  9. Re: Group E > Nov 20 (Shakhtar, Juventus, Chelsea, FC Nordsjaelland) Gotta say I think Juventus are a tad short here at 1.80-1.90, I wouldnt have them below Evens. Chelsea are definitely in a little tough spot right now but I'd still have questions about this Juve side....admittedly brilliant domestically over the last year, even though they've slipped a couple of times recently losing their unbeaten streak at home to Inter and drew a blank vs Lazio this weekend. It's a huge game for both, but I'd say arguably more pressure on Juve as the home side and being below Chelsea(who have a pretty good final match at home to Nordsjaelland), a draw would do for Di Matteo In Juve. Should be a tight match IMO, good midfield battle in order with Pirlo/Vidal/Marchisio against Chelsea's talented bunch in that area.

  10. Re: Group B > Nov 21st (Arsenal, Schalke, Montpelier, Olympiakos) Low odds for Arsenal but I fancy us to win with a bit to spare in all honesty, something like 3-0 or 3-1 if we are as generous in defence as usual. Montpellier are a really average outfit, fair play for what they've done in the last year but I cant see them putting it up to us like Schalke did, we were outplayed at home vs the Germans. Giroud is bang in form right now aswell as he finally looks like adjusting to the demands of English football....must be motivated to get one against his old club.

  11. Re: Southampton v Newcastle United > Sunday 25th November Another interesting clash here. Newcastle have gone off the rails recently, beaten at home by West Ham and Swansea, pretty comfortably. Fans seem to be giving Pardew a tough time and the fact he was given an 8 year contract probably doesnt help! I'm sure Southampton will feel this is a great chance to get a positive result, they played some brilliant stuff at QPR...however their defence is still very weak and I find it hard to believe they'll shut out Cisse/Ba/Ben Arfa. Gut feeling now would be a draw, BTTS aswell.

  12. Re: Chelsea v Manchester City > Sunday 25th November What a huge game this is, both have big European clashes in midweek, arguably bigger for Chelsea who go to Juventus, but City have Madrid at home which is a huge tie even though they will surely be knocked out. Chelsea seem to be running out of steam atm, defensive issues are rearing their head with Luiz doing his clown impression regularly, attackers dont want to defend, Torres is out of form and Sturridge had a stinker at the Hawthorns. But they are still a strong side and have the class behind Torres to make them competitive against most. City on the other hand have been in first gear all season but are slowly cranking it up and unbelievably top the league despite not playing anywhere near their best. Aguero is now firing, Silva has been class in recent weeks, I expect City to really step up in the league over the Xmas months. Odds look quite fair, I'd be tempted by City to get a positive result however.

  13. Re: Aston Villa v Arsenal > Saturday 24th November I see us at 1.75 which I think is just too short tbh, I'd have us around 1.90-2.00. Villa away, evening kick-off, we have a crucial home European match on Wednesday night. We also dont have much scope for rotation so invariably throw in **** performances at times. I expect Villa to try and replicate what they did against United and what Norwich have been doing at times....getting men back, closing the spaces, keeping a solid shape, make life difficult, and then wait for counters with Benteke up top and pace running off him with Agbonlahor. Too early to make any bets right now, BTTS looks a solid one to me but I imagine the price would be low. We just do not look like keeping clean sheets these days but we have threats in attack now as Walcott, Giroud are finally striking up a partnership and cazorla can turn it on.

  14. Re: Everton v Norwich City > Saturday 24th November Yep too short, I'd genuinely price Everton around 1.80 tbh. The thing with Norwich is that they have been doing their best work at home, but overall there's been a clear improvement in their defensive shape and they have players who can cause you some problems in attack with Pilkington, Holt, Hoolahan. I thought they were gone after seeing their first few matches this season but Hughton deserves a heap of credit and deserved wins against Arsenal and United at home back up how they've improved. Everton have dipped recently, should have buried Reading in the first half, much like Fulham a few weeks back, but didnt take their chances and were made to pay. Jelavic is not firing and I think that is the key problem for them. Also think Fellaini will be banned which is huge for them, he's been class in the first 10 games or so and has posed a goal threat too. Gut feeling now would be draw or Everton win narrowly by a goal. Would never touch them at 1.4/1.5ish though.

  15. Re: Stoke City v Fulham > Saturday 24th November Odds look quite fair from what I can see, would have Stoke at 2.20. Fulham generally dont travel as well but have posed a goal threat on the road at times this season scoring 3 at our place, 2 at United. Stoke's home games tend to be quite tight and they seem to be struggling in attack. First thought would be to swerve this.
