  1. Re: WBA v Southampton > Monday 5th November West Brom's price looks fair. I'd back them down to 1.80 which is where its set now....maybe not anyway lower than that. Southampton look poor, they're going down it's obvious. Their defending is horrific, and although they create chances and play some decent football going forward, they still dont look like outscoring Premiership sides who are scoring freely against them. West Brom have started the season well, were very unlucky to lose at Newcastle yesterday with a stoppage time goal when they were looking the stronger side, they've stood up to some other strong sides this year beating Liverpool, Everton, drawing at Spurs, and lost to City 2-1 at home with another last minute winner which was very unlucky. Clarke has them playing some good stuff and I fancy a home win in this one. WBA to bt Southampton @ 1.80 (Coral:4pts)

  2. Re: Fulham v Everton > Saturday 3rd November I'll watch the odds on this one, thinking Everton's odds might drop which will tempt me in. I dont think they are a side who should be backed as favourites away from home, and their results are starting to drop off a little with 3 draws in a row....they did well vs Liverpool but were lucky not to lose at the end with a clear goal ruled out, QPR away is a decent point with 10 men, Wigan played very well against them in that draw. Fulham do their best work at home, to the point that you can almost discount how they play away which is usually like night and day. I felt Reading would get a result against them and they did. However at home, Fulham are a tough outfit. I think they can get a draw vs Everton but right now the odds dont tempt me, look close to how I'd set them. I wouldnt be shocked to see it go Fulham 3.00 Everton 2.50 later in the week but could be wrong.

  3. Re: Chelsea v Manchester United > Oct 28 Aidy, Torres was booked for a high boot, he was going for the ball not looking at Cleverley, no intent. Fair decision to me. Its just come out that Clattenburg abused two Chelsea players including Mikel and called Mata 'a Spanish TW*T'....so aswell as bowing to Ferguson, they show no respect to the players who make the game.

  4. Re: Manchester United v Arsenal > Saturday 3rd November Back United to win, or United -1. Maybe United to get a pen, Arsenal to get a red, and RVP to score...that last one just has to happen. On a serious note(not that I'm not being somewhat serious above), OVER 2.5 GOALS and Both Teams to Score must have a good shot here.....we are statistically the best defence in the league after 9 games which is quite funny but really our defence is not great and will leak alot of goals over the season. We tend to get beaten away to United and United will almost certainly score against us, I can see a couple in all honesty. By the same token United's defence has looked cack so far and they have no central midfield these days so teams are getting joy in that sense....I think we'll have chances to score a goal or two looking at the likes of Spurs, Stoke and Braga away to United recently.

  5. Re: Chelsea v Manchester United > Oct 28

Chelsea fans should look at the league table. If anyone had said pre season they'd be top above City and United you'd have asked what they were smoking! One game won't make their season.
Id say they'd be happy if the officials did their job correctly and stopped favouring United. And yes the Arteta goal should not have stood, weak argument by whoever said it. Bringing up Chelsea's win at Old Toilet a few years ago is rich too, do I need to explain how stupid that is? Anyway, Young runs across Ivanovic, played it perfect, minimal contact and he goes down. Torres gets caught by Evans who is a dirty **** btw, and wait for it....Torres gets a second yellow.......:lol....you couldnt make it up but really you could. Then Little Pea-brain Hernandez is in line with Cech, clearly offside and scores the winner. Hilarious. How did United win at Anfield a few weeks ago? Numerous other dodgy pens and dives aswell already this season. Now the big sides do seem to get more decisions but United are a law unto themselves. This league could almost rival Serie A for corruption.
  6. Re: Everton v Liverpool > Oct 28 Liverpool's team looks painfully mediocre to me. Everton are usually bottlers in these types of games but I have a feeling they will get a positive result today....at least a draw anyway. The odds seem fair enough so not much standing out to me on the betting front but hoping Liverpool fail to win.

  7. Re: Arsenal v Queens Park Rangers > Oct 27

I agree ye didn't offer much going forward. But apart from Cazorla's chance' date=' what great chance did Arsenal have all game? Not only that, but Arteta was offside for the goal. QPR deserved a draw for me, and ye squandered 2 golden chances right at the end.[/quote'] We hit the bar, Cesar made a number of quality saves....one from Giroud's header, one from Cazorla which was in the bottom corner, and he clawed a certain OG off the line. Aside from the Cazorla sitter he missed. We didnt play well but were clearly the better side yesterday despite what Mark Hughes says. I suspect he's under pressure which he should be given the team he has to work with.
  8. Re: Reading v Fulham > Oct 27 I think backing Fulham as favourites away from home is not a good strategy. From a purely value point of view, I'd have to say that Reading are a tad long at 3.070 (Pinnacle)...Fulham tend to struggle for the most part on the road and are not a team I would ever back to win outright away tbh. Reading are gonna go down IMO but I do think they are improving slightly in recent matches.....beat QPR away, were the better team at home to Newcastle in a 2-2, drew away to Swansea and narrow defeat at Liverpool 1-0....I think they are well capable of getting a at least a draw today at home to Fulham and would have them around 2.5-2.7 max in this one. Reading +0.25 AH vs Fulham @ 1.862 (Pinnacle:4pts)

  9. Re: Arsenal v Queens Park Rangers > Oct 27 Arsenal vs QPR UNDER 3.25 goals @ 1.80 (Bet365:5pts) Fairly hard to cap Arsenal games these days, we've gone from very good to complete garbage a few times already this season and our last two displays against Norwich and Schalke have been nothing short of abysmal, absolute rubbish with zero creativity, damn all shots on target, defensive errors. Crap. You could make a case for this going over as QPR have looked fairly rubbish to me, slight improvement recently perhaps but leaky at the back and disjointed overall, too many new players maybe. We will attack and are good to leak one.....BUT I do think this has the feel of a tight and low-scoring game. Mark Hughes has given us problems over the years but nullifying us to some degree, its happened on occasion when he was at Blackburn, City and last season at QPR where we were beaten at Loftus Rd in a poor display. The way we are playing at the minute, I think any side that comes to the Emirates and packs the defence will frustrate us massively....when we've played well this season like at City, Liverpool, Southampton home, West Ham away, the opposition have come out and tried to attack, giving us space. Chelsea, Schalke, Norwich, Sunderland have played it cagier, frustrated us and try to hit on the break....and got results. We look devoid of ideas atm and no wonder with Gervinho playing as a bloody centre forward, few others looking tired in midweek eg Cazorla, Podolski so I'm concerned about tomorrow. I think if we do win it will be low-scoring and hard fought.

  10. Re: Liverpool v Reading > Oct 20 I didnt see that one coming, Blackcrow........:lol I'll sidestep this as I think Liverpool might just be able to win well in this one, the usual strategy that is successful is to go with the long-priced away team on a handicap.....thats cashed alot over the last year.

  11. Re: West Ham v Southampton > Oct 20 Vaz Te is a Championship level player for me, doubt that will make much difference. I'd have West Ham as worthy faves but I do think they are a tad short in certain places at 5/6, can get 10/11 aswell but I'd have them around evens. Southampton just look so bad at the back so will almost certainly concede, however I do think they have the ability to cause West Ham some issues in defence - BTTS appealed until I seen the price at 4/6 which I wont take. Rather than having a decent outright bet on this one, I'm gonna have a small dabble on ANYTIME GOALSCORER and will take a punt on Ricky Lambert this week.....I have him in my fantasy side aswell and have been impressed with some of his goals so far this season, looks like he might be this season's Grant Holt, tough to handle physically, strong in the air. Didnt think he would score goals in this league but I'd say he will be good for 15 or so. Ricky Lambert ANYTIME GOALSCORER vs West Ham @ 5/2 (Stan James:2pts)

  12. Re: Norwich City v Arsenal > Oct 20 Really fancy us to get the 3 points in this one. Norwich are in trouble this season in my view, worried for them when they replaced Lambert with Hughton and with 3 pts and no wins from 7 games, they look destined for a relegation fight. They've produced a couple of spirited performances like drawing away to Spurs but theyve also got hammered 5-0 at Fulham and Liverpool murdered them at Carrow Road only a few weeks ago with a 5-2 win. Not forgetting Chelsea strolled to a 4-1 win over them in the last round of games. They dont seem as dangerous going forward to me this season and are incredibly dodgy at the back so I think we might get some joy in that regard. We've had a decent start to the season, bar the Chelsea game where we were poor I think we've played reasonably well with some hard games. I expected a hard match at West Ham and indeed it was but I thought we were the better side throughout with Cazorla and Arteta pulling the strings, Podolski and Giroud linking up. I like us more away from home so far where we've played some great stuff and rather laboured a bit at home bar Southampton match, we've gone to Stoke, City, Liverpool and West Ham...won 2 and drew 2 but we were the better side in all 4 games and look dangerous against sides who will come out and try to attack. I think Norwich will have a good go at home so think we can get some chances in attack. We've also began giving away some sloppy goals after a promising defensive start to the season so BTTS might be an option. But I will go for the -1 AH with refunded stake if we win by one clear goal. Diaby is rated as doubtful, Gibbs likely out too. So Santos at left back, and Ramsey might continue to fill in beside Arteta/Cazorla. Arsenal -1 AH vs Norwich @ 1.926 (Pinnacle:4pts)

  13. Re: WC > European Qualifiers - October 16th Even a team as mediocre as Ireland should be able to win away to the Faroes but I can see them making hard work of it. The team is playing terrible these days, the team sheet looks bang average now that the veterans are either retired/injured(Keane, Dunne, Duff/Given retired etc). I can certainly see the Faroes frustrating Ireland for spells, couldnt see Ireland winning by more than one or two max. Have to look at prices for different markets there.

  14. Re: WC - Europe Qualification > 12 October

Ireland v Germany Germany -1, -1.5 AH @ Evens Having looked at the squads for tonight i'm pretty sure Ireland are setting up to sit back for alot of the game and try to counter where as Germany will look to control and pin the opposition back in to there own half. Germany have lost only 3 competitive games since the World cup in 2010 with 2 of them being against Italy and one of the best international sides ever Spain, so this tells you just how strong they are, they should have far too much for this Ireland side, from what i've seen from Ireland they look as if the days where they used to be a hard place to go for the 'bigger' nations have gone, with players like Keane, Dunne and O'Sheas best days behind them and Shay Given now retired the younger players like Mclean, Coleman and Mccarthy will have to start stepping up and i'm not sure any are quite at the stage to be playing against this magnitude of opposition on a World stage just yet. I'm thinking a comfortable win for Germany, likely a 2 or 3 goal cushion.
Yeah, have to agree here. Ireland's team looks pretty rubbish, fully expect the Germans to shut them out and score a couple of goals in the process. Looking forward to seeing Reus who looks a class act, Dortmund dont usually spend 10m+ on a player but this lad has more than replaced Kagawa(different role granted). Can't see anything but a German win in Dublin.
  15. Re: Man UTD v Spurs 29th September 2012 People say alot of stupid crap though, Gerrard said Joe Cole could do as much as Messi........:rollin Dembele is good, but top class is a stretch for me. What has he done really? Very little. Mind you he is playing well so far - 1-0 Spurs but United will get a pen if they are in trouble and win...........:clap 2-0 Bale sensational.............looks like my predictions my be all off today!!!

  16. Re: Arsenal v Chelsea 29th September 2012 We were awful, very slow paced. And the defending on the goals was really bad. Tbh Chelsea could have done more with the positions they got in, lucky Drogba wasnt around. Thought Chelsea wasted so many dangerous moments and didnt create a whole lot, neither did we. Deserved win for you anyway, we'll get revenge at Stamford Bridge, try and score 5 like last year!

  17. Re: Arsenal v Chelsea 29th September 2012 Interesting that Wenger has put Mertesacker on the bench with Vermaelen coming back alongside Koscielny. Mertesacker has been a rock this season and really showing the critics that despite moving like an oil tanker, he is a good defender. Wenger probably thinks we need pacy defenders against the likes of Hazard, Mata. I think this will go under 2.5 but have a feeling we'll win it narrowly.
