  1. Re: Champions League » Oct 20/21 Clichy is back, Rosicky is out for a few days and Walcott 3-4 weeks. Think that team is likely to be it tonight with Clichy in for Gibbs.Alkmaar play attacking football usually but this is Koeman in charge.Quite good in cups and has set teams out defensively against us in the past and got results.Think we could win but feel a draw wouldn't be a bad result.

  2. Re: ATP Metz/Bucharest & WTA Seoul/Tashkent Gotta go against you here Cramer. Mathieu over Kohlschreiber @ 10/11 Two headcases in fairness. Both can have meltdowns during a match and lose when they should be winning.Solid win over Gicquel in round one, and served pretty well against Beck who is dangerous player.Kohlschreiber was far too good for Korolev...too consistent off the ground. Not gonna put much on it, just some money for interest but if Mathieu's groundstrokes hold up, he has a shot here. Maybe a tie-break or two. Monfils should also beat Gasquet, may look at that later.

  3. Re: ATP Metz/Bucharest & WTA Seoul/Tashkent Tipsarevic over Ljubicic @ Evens Will go with Janko again here.He is by no means on great form but played solidly enough to get past Clement.Ljubicic is on the wane recently, poor movement and looking sluggish overall. Just got past De Chaunac in a third set tie-break in round one.Serve will be crucial for both here but with Tipsarevic as slight underdog, it's worth a small punt. Never back Tipsarevic with big money. GL!

  4. Re: ATP Metz/Bucharest & WTA Seoul/Tashkent Going with one small one today just for some interest in these matches: Fognini to win set off Almagro @ 6/4 Anything is possible with Almagro playing.Fognini has got some good results on clay this year beating Cilic, Berdych, Mathieu and Davydenko.Quite impressed when I've watched some of his matches.Almagro is of course strong player on dirt (strong maybe not that right word!!) but liable to slip anywhere. Not gonna put alot on it but seems tempting at 6/4. GL!

  5. Re: ATP Metz/Bucharest & WTA Seoul/Tashkent Dunno Timisoara, missed the earlier matches but I would say Fognini over Gimeno-Traver and Hanescu aswell though Victor in underpriced it seems. Definitely doing this one though: Tipsarevic over Clement @ 1/2 Never like backing inconsistent player like Tipsarevic, and especially not at this price but Clement is horrible right now.Tipsarevic is not in great form, lost to Istomin in Davis Cup singles and Serra in US Open 1st round. But Clement's record recently reads 1win-9loss, many 1st round exits to average players.Didn't qualify for US Open losing to Smyczek in qualfier round one and lost to Ascione here in qualifying but advanced as a lucky loser.Luck should run out here though. As I said, Tipsaervic is not usually reliable but will take him this time. GL!

  6. Re: ATP Metz/Bucharest & WTA Seoul/Tashkent I'm taking De Chaunac this morning: De Chaunac over Bogdanovic @ 4/7 Qualifier in Metz.Seen some good stuff from De Chaunac over summer, esp in Washington beating Istomin and Tursunov.Havent watched Bogdanovic in quite a while but results are usually the same.De Chaunac is superior player and playing at home to reach main draw. Think he does it. GL!

  7. Re: Tennis: US Open Nadal over Del Potro @ 8/11 (Coral) Got to side with Nadal here at this price.Just like the Monfils match, I cannot see Rafa losing 3 sets here.Del Potro is one of my faves and really would like to see him win but think Nadal takes this. Nadal holds a 4-2 h2h record over JMDP, losing the last two on hardcourts in Miami and Montreal.Clearly JMDP has the game to win against Nadal. He is serving better:bigger and more consistently which is a huge bonus. Also hits hard and deep off both wings which is a huge plus against Nadal. Against Gonzo(and Federer for that matter) Rafa peppers the weaker backhand.Serves out there and continually batters it during rallies. Not as easy against JMDP as he hits two-handed BH and is taller giving him an advantage against the heavy topspin forehands Nadal uses.So Nadal will be looking to hit hard to both wings and move Del Potro around to create space, might see some net play from Nadal aswell and drop shots to bring JMDP out of his comfort zone. If there is one area JMDP is not great in, its his movement.Pretty good for a big man and has improved in this respect but Nadal will be looking at exposing any weakness.Needs plenty of variety in his play to do this.Another thing favouring Nadal is his big match temperament. The guy is a winner and knows mentally he can go the distance - while JMDP is destined to be a champion in my view, maybe not right now.He can get sluggish in long matches like at RG against Federer where he outplayed him for two sets but couldnt keep it up.Think this will be tight and while Rafa's serve is a worry, I still think he can takes this. Small bet. GL!

  8. Re: Tennis: US Open Nadal x Del Potro @ 1.67 Nadal vs Gonzo....can't see anything but Nadal win here. Was fantastic against Monfils and looks to be over injury problems.Gonzo came through a cracker with Tsonga and showed his serve was holding up aswell as the usual blistering forehands.Nadal leads 6-3 so we know Gonzo can beat him but last win was in 2007.Rafa will work the backhand to gain control of the points, and his forehand was working very well against Monfils.Heavy topsin which makes it tougher for opponent.Nadal win for me. Del Potro vs Cilic...again have to side with Del Potro here.Cilic played an incredible match against Murray but is usually far more inconsistent.Del Potro disposed of Ferrero in straights which was a great win.His serve is consistent, and hits hard off both wings.Different opponent than Murray and I think he'll have far too mcuh consistency for Cilic. Nadal -1.5 sets over Gonzalez @ 4/7 Again feel chance to cash in on Rafa here.Gonzo will have to serve incredibly well throughout, and maybe win tie-breaks to make match close. I can see him doing this but over 5 sets Nadal should be too strong. Can't see him losing more than one set.

  9. Re: Tennis: US Open Think Verdasco is struggling with some niggles according to reports.Playing well but Djokovic is going along nicely right now...battered Stepanek and seems to be happy again going on that little show he put on with McEnroe...:loon...I'd say Djoker in 4 but not putting any money on it. Now Murray is out, I don't care who wins to be honest....:lol... but would love to see Del Potro or Gonzalez do it.

  10. Re: Tennis: US Open Prices a bit short today....fancy Djokovic and Wozniacki but not at those prices(though have Wozniacki to ge to final from her half). Will do one bet though. Federer vs Soderling: over 9.5 games in 1st set @ 4/5 (Ladbrokes) Have some good luck in bets like these.Like how Soderling is playing right now....strong on serve, powerful groundstrokes aswell. Was impressive against in-form Querrey and led 2-1 against Davydenko before he retired.Fed should win the match but I think Soderling can put it up to him and at least make sets close.Wouldnt be surprised to see a 7-5 or a tie-break in the 1st set. GL!

  11. Re: Tennis: US Open

I fancy Oudin to beat Wozniacki. Oudin has this rep as someone who might lack the required patience to play attritional tennis with Caroline but I think the backhand slice will enable her to grind it out and I think when the time comes she's got the power to put the ball away, whereas we know Wozniacki isn't the biggest hitter. I think if, and I suppose it is a fairly substantial IF, Oudin keeps her head, then she should win this match.
Too late for me..already gone with Wozniacki to reach final...:hope Dunno about Oudin.Obviously immensely talented but her opponents have also handed her the initiative.Didn't think it was possible for Petrova to match Sharapova's haul of UE's but she came close.Yet for the first set and a half she was out-playing Oudin then once the pressure rose she couldn't find a first serve and was going for too much on her shots.Think Wozniacki will defend better than Nadia did and will also not be rushed into hitting winners. See how this one goes tomorrow.
  12. Re: Tennis: US Open Women's US Open Outright Caroline Wozniacki E/W @ 7/1...(1/3 odds , place 1&2) Not much in the singles matches from what I can see today. Now looks the time to get on Wozniacki e/w.I went with Kuznetsova last night but have to say Caroline is playing some good stuff right now.Not my type of player as she's usually consistent without being aggressive enough but she draws errors from her opponents.Next up is Oudin and this could be a tough one...however all Oudin had to do was keep the ball in play against Petrova and she'd make an error.Don't think Wozniacki will be so careless.Wickmayer and Bondarenko are in the other semi and I see neither beating Wozniacki should she get past Oudin. Her price against Oudin is 4/9 and she'll probably be similar or lower(1/3 maybe) in the semi should she get there.Value here is to go with the E/W to win the tournament (i.e get to final) at odds of well over 2/1....(3.33)
