Defintely I think some horses are better on straight tracks and some are better going round left hand bends than right hand bends and vice-versa
As I mainly look at all weather racing the introduction of Newcastle threw a bit of a spanner in the works with all races up to a mile run on  a straight track ......... previously there'd only been the 5 furlongs at Southwell that was straight
Logically a straight track should put more emphasis on stamina as the horses are likely to be able to run faster than running round a bend. It should also suit horses that are held up as the front runners are more likely to be running faster and run out of steam
On the other hand, as Isaac Newton explained very well, you have to accelerate to change direction so running round a bend should need more effort than running in a straight line.
To complicate matters the pace of the race is probably as important in determining the outcome and which horses are best suited ....... obviously on a straight or turning track a slowly run race will suit horses with a capacity to quicken up in the finish and the front runners might not fade if they've been able to run slowly for most of the race and stay ahead
So thinking about this in terms of trying to find a winner of a particular race is not straightforward
I think the best thing to do is to really learn the tracks so you can just look at a horse's form and see instantly which type of track it does best on and which tracks are similar to each other .......

    3.15 Ling - Margaret's Fuchsia - win at 15/2 bog wm hill
I like to see horses that are 'getting closer' over 3 runs ...... this one has been beaten 8L, 3L, 1L to the nearest length. That last run was her first handicap and looked a decent race for the grade.
Only had 4 career runs so not exposed and Luke Morris takes over from a claimer in the saddle

Think I'll start off trying something different this month * ....... EW shots in big handicaps or on days where there are no class 2 handicaps just going with big field handicaps
So only looking at double figure prices
Let's start off with the Lincoln
Donc 3.35 - Jimi Hendrix - EW 14/1 bog Betvictor

    * until I have a long run of losers, then I'll try something else ........ ?

One final point on this, as there are so many differing opinions, its becoming a debacle.
Some people are getting mixed up with  B.O.G and SP. I am in favour of abolishing the B.O.G, but think we should be allowed to take an early price. I do not agree with SP only,  as part of the skillset of a tipster is to try and get value from the selection. But I agree that once you take the price, then SP is eliminated
I agree with the majority of what Justanotherpunter stated except, you do NOT need a 10 minute window for the oddschecker price. I use that App every day. Make my pick, check on Oddschecker and enter it onto the website. It doesnt take me 10 minutes!!. That 10 minutes will allow people to manipulate the system and wait for a horse to be backed before entering it on here at its original price. Whatever McClarke does now is working, as I do not see anybody blatantly cheating on the prices.

I don't think you can have a 'no odds on shots' rule if you're going by SP ...... would seem grossly unfairr if you pick out a 2/1 shot and it gets backed into odds on and wins
I think you could only have a 'no odds on' rule if people can take the price at the time of posting
