  2. Can someone tell me why trainers regularly say “I think he/she will get further”? if a horse is winning at say 1m why bother running it at 1m 2 or 1m 4? is it purely for the challenge?

  4. Hi Is it safe to say that some horses prefer running a straight distance and some prefer running the same distance with a bend/bends? Do trainers train horses to do both? Lee
  5. Do some horses prefer to run on the straight rather than bends and vice versa? I take it they are all trained to run on straights and bends? Also is a straight mile for example more of a test of stamina than a mile round bends?

  7. Hi Can someone explain to me why UK race distances are rarely exact? eg 7f 6y, 1m 1f 207y. Why aren’t they 7f and 1m 2f?
