    Been having a look at the US site that BH found and playing around with some of the info

    Thought I'd do a simple totting up of the plus points ...... for each of the Speed, Pace and Class pages there are 3 categories and the top 3 in each category get a green line

    So I've just counted the number of green lines for each horse .......... maximum points would be 9 for a horse in the top 3 in each of the 3 categories on each of the 3 pages

    Here's the top 3 in the first 5 races at Will Rogers Downs with current Bet365 prices

    Given that I don't feel as though I'm geting the full information on the US Racing I'm still doing OK with it

    Makes you wonder whether poriing over the form for hours for UK races is really necessary ...... ?

    I've often thought that the longer I spend on a race the less confident I am about any selection ....... after a while you convince yourself either that every horse will win or that none of them will

    Less information equals less confusion !

    Cheers ..... I don't think it's necessary to keep a running total but it's nice to have some idea of how you're doing

    My running total is a bit inflated because I had one really big win on an EW double ........ but you know, big wins count !

    The big meeting in HK is next Sunday with 3 group one races to finish the card

    Then they carry on with two weekly meetings until mid July when the season ends ....... starts again in September

    I gave it a miss today 'cos I was watching something on TV last night for two hours ...... and I reckon with so many races you need a whole evening to do it justice

    Plus spending 4 hours on an HK card then having zero winners is a bit demoralising ............ ? ...... might be an idea to cut down the number of races, say just concentrate on sprints or mile plus

    I might just do the sprints for the next few meetings and see how that goes .... 

    Must say I'm tempted to get back into doing speed figures .... it looks an ideal set up with only a couple of tracks and (probably?) fairly settled weather so not much variation in going. With only a couple of meetings a week it won't take much time to keep it up to date

     

    edit ....... oh and course, I've got plenty of time on my hands at the moment ..... ?

    To be honest I'm not really going into the form very much ..... just looking at course, distance, amount of prize money in races won and for recent races competed in..... 

    what I do find though is that you can usually narrow the field down quite a bit as they seem to have a lot of no hopers (of course they occasionally win!)

    I've been looking at the US Racing for a week or so but I'm still flummoxed by the form on the Sky Sports At The Racing Website

    The racecards appear to be OK but when you click on the horse's name to bring up it's form it all goes to pot

    Take an example ....... 7.07 at Gulfstream tonight, the horse 'Summer Mischief'

    On the card it's form figures read 1809-62

    Yet on it's form page the last race shown was a Win on 26th Feb

    Is that the 1 from 6 races ago ? ........ has it run 5 times since then but the races haven't been entered on the form page

    According to the card it finished 2nd last time out but looking at it's form page it hasn't finished 2nd since Dec 2017 and there 11 races listed since then

    It's baffling ....... it's difficult enough trying to pick winners but when you evidently don't have simple to use form it's impossible !
