For some time I've noticed odds being shown as 3/2 rather than 6/4
Obviously it's the same ratio but I wonder why it changed ?
A lot of odds go back to the days of pounds, shillings and pence and are based on 12 pence in a shilling and 240 pence in a pound
so 15/8, 13/8 and 11/8 would be based on the 'tanner' ..... 2'6, two shillings and 6 pence which was an eighth of a pound.
Now 15/8, 13/8 and 11/8 are not very practical in decimal currency but we still keep them
yet we are moving away from 6/4 .............
I should probably stop typing now ............ 👀
