1:15 - Celtic Strand WIN Not an original choice given the massively prohibitive odds but this is the only horse in the race who has thus far shown they could be something useful. Finished 4th LTO in what on paper looks to have been a hot race with Jumbo Rio, Mourad and Ebadiyan all finishing ahead of him. That day he finished 5L behind Ebadiyan who subsequently beat today's 2nd favourite Jafra by some 70L. Has a very simple looking task to do today to get off the mark at the 3rd time of asking over hurdles. Newcomer Burnfort Girl has never been seen either on the flat or over obstacles, so is best watched but could turn out to be the biggest threat to the long odds on favourite. 2:25 Quiscover Fontaine WIN Again, this isn't very original but this is one of the big fancies for the Albert Bartlett and if he is to enhance his Cheltenham claims then he has to concede weight all around here, against some lets be honest mediocre opposition and win in style. WP Mullins horses generally going well, so nothing less than a convincing victory is expected to complete the hat trick, and 3 from 4 races over hurdles. 4:10 - Taipans Way WIN Showed very little until 2 starts ago when travelling pretty well, fell 5 fences from home. LTO he showed no ill effects from that fall and showed more promise by finsihing 4th behind odds on fav Good Fella and Sizing America. Is going the right way and its worth taking on AskTheMaster with him, as he suffered a fall LTO and will have to overcome that before he can overcome his rivals including the selection. As Ive said before the stable is going well, and a perfect opportunity to score over a distance 2f shorter than his Last 2 outings, which will suit. My Bets. (My only bets of the day) 3 x 7 Point Singles 3 x 5 Point Doubles 1 x 4 Point Treble 40 Points Staked

Re: RUK Live on the Racing Post?
Arghh' date=' still only available for Uk and Ireland, but talks are ongoing for rest of the world. Fingers crossed :hope[/quote'] Sounds like you need to move to the UK mate. You are missing out on so much. I recommend Scotland. :ok -
Re: 3000 FOR Mr Ap McCoy
There's been some races where he has been belting away for about 7 or 8 furlongs and still managed to get the horse on top. Unbelievable. Not to mention, what he put himself through to be fit for last year's festival after a bad injury. True Professional, who loves his job!!!!I wonder how many of his 3000 wins other jockeys would have won on, i dont mean the steering jobs, i mean the one's he's belted and heaved the horse across the lines in one of his trademark drives. The guys a legend:clap, a true punters pal aswell, he'll always ride out for a place if he thinks he can get it, without knocking the horse about.:ok -
Re: Lingfield Wednesday
TC this thread is from 2004 :lol:loon You have already started one for tomorrow so there is no need for another one, Fintron has also started a thread. :ok
Bullies :lol:lolAlso TC, they are trained by John Best, not Jim. :ok -
Re: 3000 FOR Mr Ap McCoy Havent studied at any length whatsoever, but a quick look at his 4 rides tomorrow at Leicester, would see him having 2 great chances, 1 half decent and you can bet if he wins 2 of the first 3, then Johns Square's price will plummet. 2:10 - Phoudamour 2:45 - Kia Kaha 3:20 - Rate of Knots 4:30 - Johns Square

Re: 3000 FOR Mr Ap McCoy
2997 and has 4 rides at Leicester tomorrow:clap:clap How many is he on at the moment? -
Re: Southwell 27/1/09
:lol:lol:lolThe first 2 races on the card are amateur riders handicaps over 14F' date=' featuring a lot of slow horses, hurdlers and [b']what appear to be family pets............... -
1:30 - Sona Sasta E/W The favourite Qozac is at pretty much unbackable odds for the average punter and really should hose in, especially without stablemate Nictory Vote in the line up. That being said, Im taking a punt with the good Irish PTP racer Sona Sasta, who failed to make any sort of impression at this track a little under 2 weeks ago, but was very much in need of a run. I refuse to back newcomers, in any race which rules out Maile Abaa, Stage Acclaim and Top Ticket. There are already big question marks over the rest of the field, with the selection, being the only one to have ever won over hurdles, albeit in an Irish PTP.

Re: Event World Hurdle - question Fiveforthree, has been tough to train this year and has had some slight problems which have caused him to completely bypass Cheltenham. There, I'm led to believe, is no chance in him being ready for Cheltenham but slight possibilities, he could make Punchestown, but is more likely to miss the season completely.

Re: Best Bet of the Day-26/1/09
Now that was close.... Good bet e/w mate :clapAlso i have another bet - 4.00 ludlow - Nortonthorpe Lad @7's and could get bigger.. Have a little E/W punt on this one as it seems to run very well most of the time and is also a consistent placer.. -
Re: Wolverhampton 26/1/09
Start tipping a few 100/1, 66/1 shots for us then ;)Well done !.........my tips always finish 2nd !.........:lol:lol -
Re: The mentallity of a horse ?
And don't all of us who had a wad of money riding on him in "that champion hurdle" know it :pukeThen you get a horse like Harchibald who will tell you he has plenty left but if you start hitting him with that stick he ain't going anywhere. -
Re: AYR ~ Sunday 25th January.
Hallelujah!!!! Ends a LONG barren spell without a winner!!!3:35 - Morgan Be 2/1 PP 4 wins from 5 at Ayr, 2nd on the other occasion. Wins ranging from 2m4f up to 3m1f, so he will definitely stay but crucially all his wins have been onb heavy ground. Will be tough to concede weight to Royal MacIntosh but he should be more than capable. -
Re: AYR ~ Sunday 25th January.
1 down, 1 to go. Interestingly in the last 2 races (here and Leopardstown), 2 4 horse races and it's the outsider of the 4 that has won.J Howard Johnson & Denis O'regan combo won 4 of 10 Sunday runs last month. 6 placed. They have two for today. 1 pt win Double. 2:05 :jumpTo('horse','347137')'>Killyglen (IRE) 2:35 :jumpTo('horse','345128')'>Teenage Idol (IRE) -
2:50 - Hardy Eustace E/W 9/1 Boylesports If connections are to be trusted, then the run LTO was no more than a blip and he looks massively overpiced at 9/1 for what he has achieved and is actually capable of, particularly in the testing conditions. Brave Inca will be on the premises but the old timer Hardy Eustace should certainly be in the frame, if not winning the race.
-
Re: AYR ~ Sunday 25th January. 1:35 - Lago 5/1 PP Should definitely be in the first 2 given his return to form LTO when beating a couple of fairly decent rivals. Although no spring chicken at 11, he looks fairly well handicapped and there could be a little improvement on that last run given that he needs the ground bottomless. Sammy Spiderman seems very progressive but at 15/8 he may be worth taking on with the selection. 3:35 - Morgan Be 2/1 PP 4 wins from 5 at Ayr, 2nd on the other occasion. Wins ranging from 2m4f up to 3m1f, so he will definitely stay but crucially all his wins have been onb heavy ground. Will be tough to concede weight to Royal MacIntosh but he should be more than capable. Bets = 2 X 4 Points Win Bets, 1 x 1 Point E/W Double 10 Points Staked

Re: Greyhound Tips
I personally feel that if you believe in something then stick by it, don't adjust or change just because someone else suggests so. I said previously Im not a dog lover, and am still not but I do follow everyone's individual threads with interest. You have had the bollocks to do something I havent, which is leave yourself at the mercy of the board by running your own thread and leaving yourself open to being shot down etc..... and for that I commend you (along with everyone else that has). Keep it as you opened the thread and continue with what you were doing, by adivising to win etc..... if members choose to go against the advice and lay instead then that's up to them. Chin up mate. :okclose this thread then stewart because i dont want all this bickering through the selections.. Thanks.. -
Re: best bet of the day 25/1/09 3:25 Leopardstown - Corskeagh Royale 1pt win High class as a bumper finishing 2nd in the Festival Bumper and then 4th in the Irish equivalent at Punchestown. Didn't take to hurdling as well as expected and fell at the first attempt before finishing 2nd to Western Charmer at Punchestown. Won nicely LTO and looks to reverse the form with Western Charmer having seemingly adapted to the hurdling game now. Ground holds no fears and should be good enough to dispose of the rest of the field. Weapon's Amnesty is a live danger following his grade 3 success LTO but will struggle to give 3lb to the selection.

Re: Cheltenham 24/01
If Big Bucks is the best hope of winning the stayers over here' date=' then Kasbah Bliss is a bigger certainty than I thought.[/quote'] or it could just be that they have found a discipline and distance to suit Big Bucks??? Got to give credit where it's due..... -
Re: Going to the Cheltenham Festival
You could take some in' date=' but you may get busted. You have got to go for the Tatts tickets mate, especially if you want to actually see any of the horses. If you have no patience then do as AK says, and just wait till the evening for beers, unless you can find a quiet wee spot somewhere to get served...![/quote'] Mate of my uncle's in Ireland, gave up drinking at the courses at all. He was a pro punter for near 20 years before retiring whilst having enough to keep him and his family comfortable. Anyways, back to the point, he felt that having a drink at the races (whilst he was working), clouded his judgement and he made less rash decisions on course for cutting out the booze during the day and saving it for after the races. Ive since taken up that habit when going to local courses (Ayr and Hamilton), and have found that Ive also had better results when completely alcohol free at the meetings. -
Re: Greyhound Tips Am I reading into this right? Roggie reads dog form etc.... runs his system and finds dogs he fancies to win or place, and then posts them on here for us to Lay?

Re: Cheltenham 24/01 2:35 - Halcon Genelardais Although a short enough price, he is an out and out stayer who will run all day long and even when seemingly finding nothing under pressure, always seems to be moving faster than just about anything else in the last 3 or 4 furlongs. Heavy ground today will make the race a real slog and will play very much to his strengths. Tidal Bay could very well be overpriced and should reverse the form with Nozic LTO, with an 18lb pull for a 7l defeat. Star De Mohaison has to improve on anything we have seen since his RSA victory here. The other interesting thing about Halcon is that he is running off only 11st, as compared to the usual 11st 10/12 top weights that he generally runs off and can make use of this by seeing off some undoubtedly smart rivals.

Re: Beat Victor Free Competition and win £500 or £5 Your selections:
1st Selection : Halcon Genelardais 2nd Selection : Simarian 3rd Selection : Fair Along -
Re: Southwell 20/1/09 The ride he just gave Harald Bluetooth at Kempton was nothing short of masterly, considering where he had to come from and also the fact that the horse was clearly ill at ease. Hope everything all right with the horse, but in all seriousness an absolutely fantastic ride.
