  1. Re: Punchestown - 16/11/08

what is wrong with these irish horses??? Jered looked a difficult ride today. Sizing Europe jockey just kept looking round & found nothing when Hardy went past
Sizing Europe just completely emptied when Hardy Eustace came within striking distance. Dont think the result would be the same next time around tbh..... Think Bromhead will see it as a satisfactory outing for his flagship horse. I feel that Jered is vastly over-rated, and hasnt really done that much to earn the reputation he has built up thus far....
  2. Re: Punchestown - 16/11/08 :cry

I 'sized' up that bet too:lol How funny would it be if all 4 of them won, with 'Sizing' in their name. GL mate:ok
First one lost mate, Guessed at a fence, and lost ground. Was starting to get competitively involved again when Shazand came down and hampered Sizing Africa horrendously.
  3. Re: Cheltenham ~ Sun 16/11/08 2:20 Wingman E/W No questioning his ability, and whilst he has only one effort at Cheltenham which was an ultimately poor one, he is proven over the distance today, seemingly well in at the weights and the more testing the ground, the better he becomes. A bold show expected at largeish odds.

  4. Lucky 15 for me. 1:05 - Sizing Africa Although very fortunate LTO, has done absolutely nothing wrong so far and Im confident of him making the further improvement necessary to land this from Northern Alliance. 1:40 - Sizing America 2 good efforts so far in his career and made significant improvement in his last run from his opening run, although the form reads 2-4, the 4 was behind Tranquil Sea in a higher class race than this one. 2:15 - Sizing Europe The proven class act in the field. Jered might be the horse to beat on form, but the selection has with the exception of his last run (there were obvious excuses) been consistently brilliant. Henry De Bromhead reports him to be better than ever, and he landed the Greatwood Hurdle this weekend last year, so is taken to be ready for this event. 3:25 - Sizing Asia A bet to nothing, he is an outsider but if any of the first 3 have come in then it will be a worthwhile bet to have. Showed nothing on only start, so there has to be obvious improvement to come.

  5. Re: What deduction percentage do the tote take from the scoop 6?

I read somewhere on here that it's 27%
    Never do the bet myself I think it’s a complete mugs bet! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

How many weeks has it been carried over? 7/8?

    How much is <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Findlay or Nevison doing trying to get it up? £150k £200k +

For an average punter he must be at least £2k-3k behind chasing it, good luck to anyone fuelling the pot next week I am sure the nanny will be happy to keep taking their 27%.
I think thats what Casey Jones was referring to as "The Nanny",
  6. Re: Wolverhampton (eve) 15/11

7:50 Naheell Win' date= possibly E/W dependant upon market support. I cant see past the first five in the betting, Dome Rocket, Rupestrian, Naheell, Gitano Henrnando and Vaglefield. I rule out Vaglefield instantly as its unraced, and I take Naheell over any of the other 3 horses, as even though they have shown more promise, all of their previous runs have been on turf. Whilst Naheell has only one previous outing on AW surfaces, it was a promising effort and I expect a bold show. 8:50 Kirstys Lad Win I have followed the career of this one and think Ive tipped it to win on here in the past as well, has shown some recent signs of a return to form. Has course and distance form and well worth noting that when George Baker takes the ride (5 times from 28 runs), he has only once been out the top 3, and has 3 wins out of the 5 rides, all at Wolverhampton. Edit-- Just to further strengthen the case, this is his record at Wolverhampton 004671238146513 The numbers in bold are when partnered by George Baker, so they clearly get on well together,
Poor, very poor. Oh well, tomorrow's another day :hope
  7. Re: Wolverhampton (eve) 15/11

6:20 Plush Hardly an Inspiring or an Original choice but should prove very good value for the current short odds. Won comfortabley enough LTO in class 6 company over c & d and is turned out quickly to avoid a penalty for that win. Will take all the beating. 6:50 Passage To India E/W I always make a point of never backing unraced horses which rules out 7 of these horses. Of the other 5 in the race, Arabian Mirage and Nemorosa at the head of the market do not provide sufficient value for what they have shown so far. Too short priced. Telling Stories showed improvement LTO after an opening run which was no more than average. Chic Retreat was beaten out of sight LTO and left little hope for improvement second time round. Leaves me with the selection who ran well enough at double figure odds on debut and will appreciate the drop in trip from the extended mile to 7f.
Plush got there on the line 5/4 not a bad winner :nana Passage To India was a never nearer 4th at 20/1. Perhaps unfortunate not to get a bit of space earlier on straight but not in class of first two certainly.
  8. Re: Cheltenham ~ Sat 15/11/08

Had F/C and T/C combos. Was at football so haven't seen it yet. Was I unlucky? Would Silverburn been in the 1-2-3 for my T/C?
Was travelling well but made a fatal mistake 2 or 3 out and was never going to recover from that. Wouldnt have beaten the first two.... Couldnt rule him out of 3rd if he hadnt made the mistake imo....

  13. Re: Best bet of the day ~ Sat 15th Nov

1.25 Cheltenham Ballyfitz was a talented hurdler that won at the Cheltenham festival earlier this year at a big price, and made a successful start to chasing, albeit in a three runner event, winning here over CD last time out. He clearly goes well here and acts with cut in the ground, as his win at Chepstow proves. The trip of 3 miles looks perfect; five of his six career victories have been over this distance. 1 pt win
    Impressive :clap:clap:clap
  14. Re: Rsa 09

Race is doing my head in!!! Cooldine and The Tother One are my two main fancys. Do people have any thoughts on the race? On the performance of TheTother One at Exeter?
Bit early for me to be concentrating clearly on the race.... Plenty big races to be run and won before then. Ive had one ante-post bet on the race with that being said, and that is Footy Facts.
  15. Re: Cheltenham ~ Sat 15/11/08

A 12.50 start for the next biggie meeting of the jumps. The Paddy power is the big race on the card, so lets try to find some winners. 12.50 Personally, I think th eNicholls horse R de Rien Sivola is too short at a forecast 7/2. Last time was a decent win, but I am not sure of the quality of the form and he wouldnt have been sent off 8/1 that day if he was one of Paul's leading lights. Instead, I am siding with Alan Kings runner, Saticon. Alan King has won this race in the past 2 years with Katchit and Franchoek, so he obviously likes to aim his better horses at this race. King is in good form as ever this year, so I have no worries about the form of the yard. Alan King doesnt get a huge amount of runners winning on their debuts, but this one won well on debut after being bought from France. Admittedly, the form doesnt look that great, but I expect him to improve a tonne, and the trainers record in this race speaks volumes IMO. Nampour has to be respected from the in form Phillip Hobbs yard, although Black Jacari dissapointed the other day. Starluck could also go well, but for the selection, I will return to Saticon. Should be about 8/1 Selections Saticon Saver: Nampour 1.25 I havent been able to catch Nicholls right this year, and it seems some horses are ready 1st time out and some arent. However, I do like the lok of Big Fella Thanks tomorrow. He made his chase debut a few weeks ago and looked home and hosed until he was collared by Wichita Lineman in the final 50 yards. He jumped quite well that day though, and will definitely come on a lot for that run. His jumping should also be a lot more efficient tomorrow. Of the dangers, I feel Ballyfitz won a mickey mouse race 1st time out, and I feel Big Fella Thanks is a better horse. Gone to Lunch seems to lack that little bit of class to win that big race, and although West End Rocker finished in front of Big Fella last time, I dont like the horse and his attitude isnt great. Should be about 7/4 Selection Big Fella Thanks :ok
Sorry about the intrusion into your post mate but will Starluck definitely run? I thought I read somewhere that he also had another engagement somewhere this coming week?
  16. Re: Scoop6 Syndicate!

Wish some of you guys ran the country' date=' there are some fantastic suggestions on pl. scoop 6 sounds a grt idea, and if you say limit it for the first 8 weeks to say 30/50 members all paying the same and see how it gets on. if you had 40 members over 8 weeks, u could give 5 members a fournight each to pick. I lose a 10er a week on flowers to keep the misses happy and i've been looking for a better way to spend this money i think u've found me it.[/quote'] But if you spend the tenner on this, then how you gonna keep the missus happy? :lol
  17. Re: Cheltenham ~ Sat 15/11/08 12:50 R de Rien Sivola to win Love and Glory E/W Although the likely hot favourite Giorgio Quercus won as he liked LTO, it was only 5 days ago and that for me is a big concern. Im taking The Nicholls/Walsh combination to strike again, with the selection winning very comfortabely LTO in a race which also contained the very highly thought of French horse Wake Board. I also think Love and Glory could finish in the top 3, although held on form by Simarian, receives a big pull in the weights and can reverse the placings they had LTO. So for me its R de Rien Sivola to win and Love and Glory as an E/W cover bet

  18. Re: Kempton 14/11/08

    Well done R&R :clap
    Cheers mate....
Nice winner' date=' mate :ok Now stick to your promise and post more, because you always say so and then you disappear :tongue2[/quote'] I know, I know. As explained though, I lost the betting bug.... honestly couldn't be bothered with the horses, only recently have re-established interest and have gotten myself back in touch with the game. Good to be back and bag a winner with my first tip in some 6 months or so.... :ok
  19. Re: Kempton 14/11/08

7:20 Laudatory Done absolutely nothing wrong on debut when finishing second to a short price favourite (Ghanaati) who had already run well before hand. Shaped as if 7f might be a test of stamina but seemed to get home well enough LTO. Will be tough to beat if showing the same attitude tonight.
Bit lucky as Yirga threw the race away..... Not complaining though :clap:clap
