My name is Justin (and yes I'm very "Fat and Happy"). Been a passionate Horse Racing fan all my life (Great Uncle was a jockey, Grandparents were massive punters, Grandmother and her second partner were Bookmakers parents enjoy the game). Purely based on the maths you are better going for longer odds when using free bets, I've found that 13/2 to 10/1 is the best range
