Southwell 2.35
FAI FAI
each way
Under Kevin Stott
Some form in France at group 3 and listed level
Overfaced in listed stakes at Royal Ascot on uk debut.
Having had a quiet debut on all weather, this more realistic .

Southwell 1.25
TAHONTA
YOU'RE COOL
BLACKJACK
USTATH
Combination tricast
Win BLACKJACK
Each way YOU'RE COOL
Blackjack went close last time out but did not have a great draw and ran very freely.
On this surface has a good chance off a two pound higher mark.
You're Cool, a sprinter rather than a six furlongs runner does the distance at this track for the first time. Has won twice over the trip but many moons ago. Fine third finish last run franked by Spanish Angel beating winner Level Up next time when second to Kim Wexler. Would be winning if over five furlongs. Off a lowly mark which gives a place chance.
Dundalk 4.30
RED SKY AT NIGHT
each way
Debut for new yard ex Fozzy Stack.
Put up best run behind mount ruhpea in fourth at cork last time. Retains regular jockey and given he ran well down field in valuable 300k auction race at the Curragh, has the experience to go well here on aw debut.
Could well be Shepherd's delight. Should be ok on the surface having encountered heavy going and good. Not yet rated but already had three runs. Some interesting newcomers, but one or two ordinary maidens gives this one an outsider's chance

Southwell 2.03
COULNAGO
Win
Handicap debut
This one has a chance if settling better faced some good horses over six furlongs who have all proved to be better class.
Ran into a good newcomer here last time trained by Kevin Ryan and ridden by D. Tudhope. Third home has won since.
Headgear on may see this runner settle better as got to the front too soon latest. Every chance if ground is not too testing when frozen.
Last year's average ( first three) indicates stall 7 not a bad place to be. May have got in lightly on current rating based on quality of opposition faced up to now, but does have to prove it from high in the weights which often suits in a nursery.

5 hours ago, Bang on said:
It's been backed, and trainer George Boughey is in decent form (6 wins, 7 placed, from last 26 runners).
Thank you for putting that up, bang on.
I highlighted it because I knew on reading it up and the fact that DP was back onboard that it had a chance of running well. Hopefully someone somewhere backed it for a place on that basis.

MELBOURNE HALL
Win
In good form recently and looks to build on place and win in last two runs.
Matt Chadwick regular jockey is replaced by Angus Chung who holds a hefty claim. Drawn in stall 3.
ACT OF FAITH
Each way
(Zac Purton)
Didn’t run brilliantly at the other track on debut but the booking suggests that drawn alongside Melbourne Hall, he is not without talent.
These two are most likely to provide the pace angle and hopefully they’ll be strong enough to get home first. Always a danger they get overun by a late closer but this is a weak looking race...

Lingfield 3.25
Notice Hugh has put up a selection in this race at big prices.
There is another interesting horse in here in my opinion ridden by David Probert.
I've checked the draw and the average winning stall from the first three home last year is 8.33.
The winning stall from the last two years totals 18. Divide by two and you have stall 9.
Land of Eagles won over this trip at chepstow in June class 5 novice stakes.
Made all off a mark of 75.
Just got home after hanging badly in the straight the runner up city streak won a class four handicap soon after. If Probert can settle the horse upfront He may get home better today and on these terms.
Probert has not ridden the horse since and the horse returns to the trip on the aw for first time with additional headgear.
Just saying....

ABSTRACT
Each way
Was in behind van Gogh in Ireland and ahead of bear story in a decent maiden. Has mixed racing with hurdles so gets the trip well having finished third to champella over timber. All irrelevant form, but just confirms ability.
Dropped down from 70s rating. Entitled to get in the places here.
-
Charlie Appleby's PHRENIKOS is a half brother to Corebus and looks a bit of a monkey.Very short price and one to leave alone win or lose.
Played hard both runs and James Doyle couldn't put him right last time. Will Buick is back on from Yarmouth debut where he jumped a path and couldn't get home.
This is an ordinary run of the mill maiden which he might well win.
But with nothing to lose.
RAY OF COLOURS
Travels from Yorkshire on an awful night and led early on debut before falling away
A couple of quid each way will do no harm here.
The other bet here possibly is the winning distance ( any runner) to be over 1.25 which is worth going for in a small field @ 13/8

Wolverhampton 5.30
ACONCAGUA MOUNTAIN
Win
Zero form in Ireland lit up by magic visor in England.
Slammed opposition including four of these latest.
Seven pound hike may be harsh but it isn’t a penalty. won coming over the top after tardy start at redcar.
DUKE OF FIRENZE
Each way
a qualifier and last win off about thirty pounds higher this year. Running on behind this winner last time. Long losing runs, but one of the best class six runners in training... -
Three runners from from five in the first four home in the opener but no cigar for going along with the main choice who was last.
1.45 lingfield due off later,
The top weight may be able to defy a penalty for winning last time out. If he cannot, then the runner below him, may take advantage.
OWER STARLIGHT
Win
CHAGALL
Each way.
Small reverse forecast
OWER STARLIGHT has been running well recently and only won four runs back. Chagall won off two pounds higher at Dundalk.
Dundalk 2.45
Den of Iniquity
Win
Joseph O'Brien runner who was touched off by
Shangrilama, who then stepped up to a mile and won readily on Friday. Den attempts the same in this maiden and should benefit from the extra furlong. Shangrilama had run several times on turf previously, so was putting that experience to good effect, which puts Den of iniquity's performance in an even better light.

PRAISE OF SHADOWS
Each way
Finished second and close behind two runners who fought out an even closer finish at the weekend, so form is very strong....
Also runs off career low mark
The top weights
CALONNE, MUMAYAZ and KATHS TOYBOY
, are added to CAPPATTY CON and PRAISE OF SHADOWS for the combination tricast.
four of these runners are drawn together on the even side with the exception being kaths toyboy low draw and Joanna mason's only ride today.

ORIENTAL SMOKE
Each way
Impressive form figures on the track although turned over when well behind the Irishman over course and distance. Only race where has not been placed in eleven runs 4 wins from 11. Retains partnership with champion jockey, Zac Purton.
Lucky winner when got up on the line latest to pip Campione after another runner collapsed when making winning sweep through the field.
THE IRISHMAN
Win
Good third to today’s group 1 winner Romantic warrior in the past and finally came good in October with breakthrough win.
Will have received a boost from today’s group 1 result.

Distracted by the cricket but
Romantic warrior took full advantage of course and distance ( six time winner) to bolt up. Got to the front quickly before allowing the Japanese horse to take a strong hand and was settled in behind.
Panthalassa continued to pace set but was running at a less keen gallop than previously.
Romantic warrior enjoyed the slip stream and was soon on top in the home straight where the leaders fell away. Won going away for another impressive win. Won by over four lengths.
Another Group winner ?.
Sorry about the short notice.

Out all day, but hope to be back in time for wolves 6.50. I'm working on a system called Alexander method. It is physics based, this race might not be suitable we'll see. Nice winner at Dundalk in sandcastle last night although not a system runner, but dundalk is made for Alexander selections. There is a tipsters ( Hugh) selection of my brother Mike which will take a chunk out of the market.
I'll certainly take every horse into consideration when assessing this race, draw, form, weather, weights etc and of course physics.....
The system provided a group 1 winner on here last Saturday in Amelia's Jewel, so it does work.
Enjoy your day

Clomel 12.05
Eye Van
Win
Eye Van debuts for the Cody's and is ridden by family member who had her first winner at the weekend, has a claim.
This horse has raced against all the big names in Ireland and has an outstanding chance here in receipt of weight from the main horses.

A little harsh methinks.
You post and if you do so close to the off, the post may not get on for a while. I'm more than happy not to post. Was just trying to add an insight into the race. Some win some lose.
