I can definitely see that happening if Tsitsipas has his usual drop, Rune is definitely better than both Ymer and Kolar.

Tsitsipas cruised against the very weak Ymer. The Swedish was absolutely useless, and i wonder why some of you picked him to beat Tsitsipas.
For me, Tsitsipas MAIN weakness is his father. I noticed ZERO progress for the last three years. Truly, Tsitsipas was BETTER in year 2019 than now.
If he doesn't get rid of his idiot father, no more progress is ahead for him. His idiot father, is the curse of Tsitsipas.

I can completely understand anyone who's backing Ymer. If you're right about Tsitsipas experimenting with his backhand, he might want to give that a rest until after the tournament. It's better to have a weak shot you feel confident about hitting than a new shot you're not so sure about hitting, even if it is a better shot when you get it right. He does need to work on his backhand, but now is definitely not the time - especially as it can take a lot of time to remodel any shot.

    Last year's Tsitsipas > This year's Tsitsipas
Don't know why though. Makes no sense. You would expect him to improve but he's getting worse. Worse serve, worse bh...

yeah, sadly there are 0 improvements in tsitsipas's game , I wouldn t say his topspin bh is weak but his defense on that side is prety pathetic..dunno how someone as talented as him can t slice properly or use the dropshot better/more

Quiet day today with only the treble and one outright in action. The treble just about came in, but it wasn't looking good when Sinner, who was the shortest leg, lost the first set and then headed towards even money at the start of the second when facing break points. Thankfully he managed to save those points and then break before serving out the set from 0-40. After that he won the third set without much fuss, before going a break behind in the forth after failing to hold from 40-15. Carballes Baena then repeated that trick to hand the break back and then Sinner held after saving a break point before Carballes Baena outdid his previous service game by getting broken from 40-0. That seemed to break the Spaniard's resistance as a relatively easy hold from Sinner followed, before Carballes Baena had to save a load of break points to keep the deficit to just one break. Sinner then held serve in another nervy game where he had to recover from 0-30, which left Carballes Baena needing to hold serve to stay in the match. He got to 30-0 before losing four points in a row to hand victory to Sinner. Based on that performance, Sinner is going home as soon as he meets a better clay court player than Carballes Baena - he just doesn't have nous to win on clay at this level yet.
The outright of mine that was in action was Tsitsipas, and I'm not going to add too much to what I wrote earlier whilst he was playing his match. It's going to be very difficult for him to go much further, both because of fatigue and also because his return game just isn't there right now. For as well as Kolar played - and he did play really well - creating only twelve break points and taking just three of those points across four sets isn't good enough, particularly when you compare it to someone like Alcaraz who although wasteful created nearly twice as many break points during the first four sets of his match against Ramos-Vinolas. That lack of cutting edge on return is what led to three tie-breaks and such a long match and it doesn't matter who you're playing against, your chances of winning a set diminish at the tie-break stage. Tsitsipas won the second set breaker, lost the third and should have lost the forth. On another day he'd have been taken to five sets and maybe even have lost the match because of his inability to break.

let's hope he does...I just hope baena fades slightly and sinner mantains his level of now. So frustrating seeing a nobody like baena peaking out of nowhere and sinner just not thinking of changing the heigh of his strokes and stop giving baena the same ball over and over again.

Another mad day comes to a conclusion. After yesterday where Tsitsipas recovered from two sets down and Carreno-Busta should have recovered from two sets down only to throw it away, today we saw both Zverev and Alcaraz winning in five sets from match point down as big favourites with Alcaraz particularly so. The odds on that double would have been into the thousands I'm guessing - if such a bet could have been placed. I'm not even going to attempt to do a summary of Alcaraz v Ramos-Vinolas as so much happened I'd probably need an entire forum page. Also making a comeback from two sets down as a big favourite was Schwartzman.
As for my picks, it was very much a day of what could have been although I don't think I can complain too much after Alcaraz managed to win despite his profligacy. Jacquemot paid for a slow start in the end, as she was just starting to get to grips with Kerber having got to a second set breaker but was unable to force a decider. Haddad Maia had the first opportunity to break against Kanepi but couldn't take it and then promptly got broken herself which so often seems to be the way, and from then on she was on the back foot and couldn't really lay a glove on her opponent. Bencic beat Andreescu handily enough despite a slight wobble at the end and as already mentioned, Alcaraz was very fortunate to win his match and lives to fight another day. Nadal got a routine win save for failing to serve it out at the first attempt and perhaps more importantly, there were no signs of any injury issues and he was hitting the ball really well and that bodes well for the rest of the tournament.

That could be the most incredible tennis match I've ever seen. Some of the shots, all the swings, the break point numbers. Just wow.

It's annoying, but the whole thing is not a sprint. It is one endless bet, where if you apply an edge, over time you will be in profit. Very much like poker. In the short term anything can happen.
I probably won't post tomorrow or Thurs. Off to the USA for 6 weeks vacation. Should be good but 16 hours in cattle class row 48 could be brutal. Just need a huge person next to me and a screaming baby to top it off ?

yeah went with gasquet today also , if torque trusts him I'll trust him too. Still a bit scared of how his physique will hold up, but you can t bet anything else than him winning with the insane french crowd behind him in RG. Plus the odds are more than juicy.

You think that the bookmakers, get the 'value' wrong often. They don't. They have more data, more computing resources, an array of super bright guys crunching the data. We have no real chance of beating them at their own game. But they want to create a balanced, maximize book. That is the artificial part of  the process and that's where you find the 'value'. I call it the imbalance.

don t know why people like you don t mind their own business and need to meddle into others.  Also you can write here that you" re great and win all the time , and that could probably be a complete lie since anyone can brag without having proof of the actual reality.

Lol, you don't understand basic mathematics. It takes about 6 winners to recover, but I seem to make 8 winners (on average and much more when going really well), for every low priced loser. I don't take big bets on 5 legged bets, so variable staking works, especially when you win big, and lose small/smaller. So in 26 bets if I lose 2 it takes 12 bets to get the 2 lost bets back, but my other 12 bets are all profit.
I tend not to bring up the winning streaks, but 2nd favorites losing first round annoys me, especially from 1 set up and cruising.

I am in big profit. Just gotta no react and  take the defeats with the victories. I know the strategy works. Does yours?
I would like to win, and I would like you to win as well. I derive no pleasure from seeing anyone (except the bookmakers) lose.

Seems that Thiem is lost in space at the moment. I don't know what to expect from him in future. Perhaps a new Del Porto case?
Nadal won his first Roland Garros title in 2005 at the age of 19. Alcaraz is 19 years old!
If Tsitsipas don't get rid of his mug father, no chance to make any progress. I agree that he hasn't improve his game in the last 3 years. He is moving backwards instead of forwards.
I can not understand why he dosn't fire for ever a father that destroys him with his ugly and rude behavior.
For me Alcaraz/Swiatek to win in ATP and WTA respectively.
