  1. Yeah, I thought he was on the one to the middle but he pulled out a cracker to the green pocket!
  2. He should have had a 147 in the last frame at 12:45am! Good win for him though and Murphy will be gutted to lose to one of the worst Chinese players on the circuit. Ford, Brecel, Maguire and Lisowski all playing well so far, shame Higgins lost to the rather dull Hawkins.
  3. No, not until the 1/4's
  4. I think he did exactly the same last year too!
  5. Allen's playing shite but so is He. More late withdrawals from Gilbert and O'Sullivan, disgraceful the lack of respect shown for Scotland's only ranking event in the calendar.
  6. Let's hope for a Jack/John final then:-)
  7. I can't believe he won the last 2 but surely not again this year! Looks like Mark Williams is a late withdrawal and Judd's in Hong Kong so maybe a chance for Jack Lisowski to finally win one. It's my local tournament but I'm not sure if I'll go along as the seats are so uncomfortable(I had to bring a seat pad with me last year!) and the spotlights they insist on directing at the audience are blindingly bright though a baseball cap helps as does sitting quite far back but that does mean the view isn't that great. It's better on tv really.
  8. I'm pleased for Ford though didn't have a bet on him, shame as he'd have been decent odds.
  9. It's the most fun tournament for sure with the extra attraction of ranking points, at first I wasn't sure if it should have been but the winner only gets £50k so it's the lowest level of ranking tournament which is fair I reckon. There's been some good matches as there are every year and it's so quick you never get bored.
  10. Mark Allen is becoming a very boring player to watch, he dragged last night's match out to a 1am finish with his average shot time creeping up towards 35 seconds at many stages of the match. I'm glad he lost in the end!
  11. Maguire was crap today. Luca still very much a part-time snooker player but was lucky that Jones was hopeless too or he would have won 6-2. I think the time has come for World Snooker to ban the old green Triangle chalk as the table was a mess every time Luca played a shot and the number of kicks were definitely noticeable.
  12. Shame he lost, he was on a great run since his return to top-flight snooker. Ronnie also ran out of gas after a good start which is becoming a bit of a pattern now.
  13. I'm hoping Mark Williams.
  14. Hats off to him again, a bit lucky to release the pink from the blue but Allen missed a simple green so can't complain(same as Selby missing that simple red to centre last night) - he's done nothing for 17 years prior to his Wuhan win but I hope he wins it on Sunday night. Looking forward to the Tyson fight later on!
  15. Gotta admire Guodong, what a day for him beating Ron and Mark from behind, quite an achievement.
  16. Ding must've been jet-lagged but Trump played well. Brecel has been woeful since winning his world title and I don't see that changing unless he starts getting serious again. 11.30pm now and watching Trump/Robbo, shame it didn't go 5-5 as the brown somehow ended up over the corner pocket due to knuckling the middle jaw. Ronnie is looking vulnerable these days so probably a good idea to oppose him.
  17. That was bloody pathetic from AJ, time to hang up the gloves! His last fight flattered him as Ngongoo is obviously not a trained boxer despite his defeat of Fury which flattered him also! Glad I didn't have a bet but your 6/1 poke turned out to be genius:-) Maybe AJ should fight Wilder next, that would be a fair fight as they're about the same standard.
  18. Wish I'd known about his split from Laila before his match as it would have warranted a sizeable bet against him. I'm not sure how long it will take him to get out of the depression he's in but he might be having a poor season from now on. By some quirk of fate it seems that they broke up after 147 months together, how poetic:-) I might have guessed he'd pull out of the British Open due to "medical" reasons. I think he prefers China these days so hopefully will be back in time for the next tournament over there. I think the Ronmeister has withdrawn from Wuhan this week so god knows when he'll make another appearance on the circuit.
  19. I figured Robbo would win as he's on an upswing whereas Barry is slightly on a downturn. I didn't expect Selby to blow it but delighted for the Indian guy:-) Nobody would have selected that semifinal lineup.
  20. Another shocker, surely the two faves will win tonight but not much appeal in the prices with the double around 1.80.
  21. With Trump crashing out unexpectedly the two big guns will fancy their chances of picking up the title on Sunday even more.
  22. A lot of random players seem to have made it to the last 16 but doubtless one of the big guns will win the final on Sunday.
  23. I'm just tuning in again to the snooker forum after a long summer break. Ronnie was patchy tonight but his opponent did play well and had a good run of the ball too.
  24. Yeah, it could have been a real nail-biter but fair play to him to keep it to 18-14 as it could have been a real drubbing after the 7-1 session.
  25. Good for Jak to win the session 5-4, should really have been 10-7 overnight but that final frame was dramatic. If he can put in a big session tomorrow afternoon and Kyren gives him a bit of help it might be a good evening finale!
