The 2 mile handicap at 4.10 is a tricky puzzle , but can`t help being drawn to the booking of Jamie Spencer for Gordon Elliotts Samui .Can see Jamie creeping into the race late and even with a big penalty for his last win , his new mark is in line with its Hurdle handicap mark .

The Juddmonte has been well summed up by the Brigadier and i am in full agreement . Can see City Of Troy hitting the front at the 3f pole and trying to run the finish out of Ambiente Friendly and in so doing it brings both French horses into play as they stay further and both quicken up . It really is the race of the season and if City Of Troy wins hats off to Him but Ambiente Friendly has still been on the bit at this distance all season and Calanndagan in particular looks an ew play to nothing . City Of Troy will have to be everything Aidan believes He is and more to win this because He has some serious opposition .

2 listed races at Deauville today 1450 and 1525 . Go for a double Va Va Vroom and Aventure . Jessica Harrington sends the former over for the ist Group2 but my only worry is being out on the wing drawn 7 of 7 , low draws are usually favoured at Deauville . Just have to hope this ones a class above .

Economics won cosily today in France and looks good for the big group races later on this season , will be a lot fresher than the opposition and will be backing Him to win wherever He is entered .

Sod Goodwood when this type of thing happens so frequently and you dont have the Racing Post to talk you out of it .

If i find a bookie paying 3 places in the 1535 might just chance an ew treble on the 3 , would still make a little bit if one or more lose .

Huge mistake by Neil Callan yesterday , which in itself is a surprise , riding Cloud Cover in the Listed race at Chelmsford .Said by the trainer that this race worth over £50,000 was the horses main summer target . Only horse with any worthwhile AW form , CD winner a couple of times . Perfect ride all the way round until the straight . Travelling all over them , took a pull , decided for whatever reason to go for the rails run , which is the last thing you do at Chelmsford , David Probert beat him to the punch up the middle of the track , finished 2nd ...........Contrast that with Thor Hammer Hansens ride in the German Derby . As they straightened up with Andreas Starke going clear against the far rail , brought His horse from the back right over the other side of the track , bombed down the near rail and got up near the line....Genius.....only trouble is , i backed the 2nd in that race also !!!!!!

Don`t think anyone could have won on Ambiente Friendly yesterday , O`Brien made sure it was a stamina test and Los angeles simply outstayed it .....The big mistake of replacing Callum Sheppard in the Derby was the real cock up , Havlin had the race in the bag 3 furlongs out and sat waiting for City of Troy to catch up instead of getting the job done .
