  1. Great ride by Laura Pearson on Sparks Fly . They made sure She didn`t get a soft lead on the front but She just sat 4th pulled the horse out and burnt them off with a telling turn of foot . Well done to all involved especially in staying loyal to the Jockey . Commiserations to all concerned with Tiffany in the German Group one , looked to have it in the bag , but the winner seemed to come from nowhere .
  2. Must agree , but my policy on Sundays is to ignore British Racing and stick to France . Always guaranteed decent racing . A good few Listed races at Saint Cloud tomorrow .
  3. Like the look of all 4 home teams in sundays premier league games . 4 trebles and acca .
  4. Permed your top 3 in the 205 and 315 with Chianti Classico and 2 others in the big race . 3 times 3 times 3 = 27 i point trebles . Took prices winning treble paid 340 points on price taken . Thanks very much , your ratings are superb .
  5. Preston , Cheltenham and Liverpool Treble . ..........Plymouth and Carlisle couldn`t beat anyone at the moment and the ref will undoubtably send off an Arsenal player for some trivial offence or other .
  6. Why dont more people send their horses to Owen Burrows ? He must have the biggest percentage of Group winners from such a small string of horses around , who has He upset to not get owners knocking His door down to put their horses in His care ?
  7. After years of low drawn horses winning at this meeting , first 3 in sprint drawn 16 , 17 and 20 . Backed 2 in the Balmoral both drawn low.......nightmare .
  8. EW Treble 120 Trawlerman 155 Kinross 435 State Actor...........all well known mud lovers . Last year the first 4 home in the Balmoral were all drawn low , so apart from State Actor , Bopedro is a possible bet as well .
  9. Me and some of the people in the betting shops see this every day and there is never an inquiry into any of it . There was one on Sunday had 3 runs and never beaten a horse .It was backed into 3-1 in its first handicap , but thankfully ran like a drain but someone somewhere thought they new something , but either way you would have the connections in for an explanation .
  10. First thoughts for the Arc this weekend . Still think Al Riffa is the one after it`s demolition job in the German Group 1 last time . Look De Vega worries me though . All it`s wins were from the rear with a telling turn of foot .The Arc trial when it was well beaten , it made the running , was never touched with the whip and faded out of contention .Looks for all the world they just treated that race as a glorified racecourse gallop , will be backing both on the day if not before .
  11. Going for Godwinson in the Cambridgeshire loves the soft and well drawn . The one i can`t have at any price is Roi De France , watched the Yarmouth race a couple of times and at no point did it look like it would win . In the perfect position all race and when the gap came didn`t quicken , in fact others in the race were finishing better . Think it`s just the Gosden factor making it so short . (Prepares to be shot down in flames as it bolts in ) !
  12. So nothing in the Arc trials today to put me off my long time fancy for the race in Al Riffa . It blitzed the field on its first try at 12f in Germany , in a race that has produced Arc winners in the past .
  13. Fully agree . He has so many horses going for the same prizes and you can tell by the Jockey bookings He has no idea which horse is the best , but huge congratulations to Sean Levey on his first classic , much deserved .Also brilliant ride from Tom Marquand on Economics on Saturday , kept August Rodin hemmed in and didn`t let any of the O`Brien horses get first run as all the other jockeys seem to do .
  14. Been watching all the replays of the previous outings of the St Leger field and You Got To Me appeals at the prices . All it`s best work at 12f comes in the last furlong , it runs more like a stayer than a horse with a turn of foot , looked an EW steal , but now we are down to the dreaded 7 runners , will still have a bit on at the 6-1 available .
  15. Just a thought on this weekends racing . Back in March on the first Saturday of the flat season Montaasib won the listed sprint and Charyn won the listed mile . Races usually that go to horses who their trainers know can`t quite hack it at group level . Now 5 and a bit months later they are both Group 1 winners . In all my years of watching racing i have never known the like !
  16. 1425 Haydock , particular keen on Waxing Gibbons .. David Menusier booked Holly Doyle at the 5 day stage which shows He means business . David Menusier has a few running in the TV races might just do them all in doubles /trebles etc......great work from the Brigadier again.......spot on summary of the 135 Ascot .
  17. 1640 Goodwood Calling the Wind is currently 12-1 , if it is half fit it would carry this lot . Hasn`t run in over a year , but was placed in nearly all the top handicaps over 2 miles when right , this is a huge drop in class on a track it acts on , a little ew wont go amiss.........lets hope they still have 8 runners when the race is run .
  18. Quite correct , i would have given it back .The corporate big boys as you say are always on the look out to squeeze us punters . Was in the shop the other morning , racing was on from Hyderabad .Betting had two jt favs at 2-1 and 3rd fav at 3-1 .Commentator at the track gave betting as 2-1 fav , 5-2 2nd fav and 7-2 3rd fav . Undercutting all bar the fav . If you ever watch French racing in the shops they show the morning odds from France with the current odds from France underneath , the odds we are offered in the UK sometimes bear no comparison to the true odds available . The big bookies say they form their own markets now on foreign facing but they make sure they shorten up nearly every horse in the race .
  19. 5 20 at York Midnight Gun and Native Warrior both run for the Wathman stable , but much prefer the Karl Burke horse at 12-1 , seems to show a better turn of foot then his stable companion .
  20. Oh no .......a front runners paradise again , nothings going to change , Asfooras team have to have a plan for the Nunthorpe , waiting tactics wont cut it .
  21. Asfoora is by far the best horse in the Nunthorpe but Oisin Murphy will have to go for the line earlier than He did at Goodwood with the track a front runners paradise .Thought He was over confident there and don`t expect He will make that mistake again .
  22. Masterclass by Moore , didn`t see Him making all but slowed them down and stacked them up coming round the bend and then ran the finish out of them . Very Steve Cauthen like . Backed Callanndagan ew and thought it was coming to win , but fair play to Aiden the plan came together .
  23. 1500 handicap over a mile at York doing Holloway Boy and Blue For You ew . Both got good low draws to get an early position and Favourite Elnaajm drawn out in the car park in stall 17 .
  24. Queen Of The Pride looks the days banker in the Yorkshire Oaks 5-2 way to big .
  25. The 2 mile handicap at 4.10 is a tricky puzzle , but can`t help being drawn to the booking of Jamie Spencer for Gordon Elliotts Samui .Can see Jamie creeping into the race late and even with a big penalty for his last win , his new mark is in line with its Hurdle handicap mark .
