Well I have had one of those days today!!
Backed Midnight River at 7/1........Fell 2 out when going easily.
Bcked Copperless at 11/2.........Fell 2 out when going easily
Backed Pink Eyed Pedro at 40/1 ew. Didnt get paid out! Why? Because Dozy Bollox here didnt press the ew square, so it was a win bet.!!!
Not had a day like this for a long long time!!!?

Ew money back on Sir Jack Yeats. Fifth rated wins 

I think ew is a must if the price is right in these big festival handicaps. They pay a lot of places too. Unowhatimeanharry is getting on which puts me off. He’s a pound higher than his last win 3 runs back but he only just held on there in a class 2, and this is a grade 3, so two classes above . Vision Des Flos not in great form at all. Really like the look of Stoney Mountain here, so I think that will be the bet for me .

Uknow is 13 but could sneak a place at a decent price currently around 33 so good value ..stoney mountain has been off 129 days ...so I'm going to side with the more recent runners polish at 16.5 ....southfield harvest 12.5 ...and champagne platinum 11.0 .....3x 10pt wins ...tough race

Its huge because they normally show the horses last 5 weights. You can see what the horse weighed when it won its last race etc etc

Personally I think they should have the system they have in Singapore, Hong Kong and I think the U.S. The horses weight is declared and shown on all racecards. Its not 100% efficient but it certainly helps. Obviously it doesnt really help for first time out 2 yr olds, as there is nothing to compare it to.
Its generally better though and certainly more transparent. I remember Brough Scott encouraging this probably 30 yrs ago. I have seen it first hand being over here in Asia and its certainly a help in trying to ascertain if a horse is fit or not.
