Educated "pinsticking" is no bad strategy i assume you know enough not just to get the darts out so you should be ok.

Essentially it all depends on the quality of my semi-educated pin sticking which is what my selection method is if I'm honest. I need to hit enough single winners to pick up the slack and tide me over while I wait for a lucky break. I might be over optimistic but I like to think I'm not so bad that the double odds won't work it's magic and keep me around level. While I'm enjoying it and playing with winnings we'll see where it goes.

You need to be patient, what you need is the occasional treble to get you into profit. Since I hit my maximum profit I have had 290 lucky 15s but I am confident there will be a decent return before too long that will get me to a new high.

7/1 winner so money back. 
Will carry on for a while and see how it goes. The question is whether I can find a 7/1 ish winner often enough for the double odds offer to keep me out of the red. So far I've hit a double, 3 single winners and 2 NR from my 5.5 attempts (factoring in the last day of Goodwood being abandoned).

Having a go today on the back of the Goodwood comp but it’s a different ball game not having a single high quality meeting to focus on. Given I pretty much know nowt I might be better going down the big meetings and Saturdays route.

Well look at my situation i deal in 2 year olds and this year i have only been able to "properly" rate 5 races due to how infrequently the horses have run (royal Ascot shocking), i checked and by this time last year i had had 56 bets on 2 year old races, this year i have had 11 and non worth anything above a £20 stake. Worse year i can ever remember.

It's,already happening ... I have friends who were racing die hards like me who have stopped betting on racing and moved to football golf etc because the small fields mean no value and just no interest ......but no one seems to be addressing it .....I don't know what the answer is but if it isn't dealt with the prizemoney and sponsors will dwindle because sooner or later they will realise people just aren't watching the race so they'll take the sponsor money elsewhere ..  

The height of the flat season and still we have small fields they can't blame the ground we have had enough variation to suit all horses. If they don't run the horses the sport will die.
