  1. My picks for the day

Vesely to beat Paire.Paire is yet to face any serious competition so far in the tournament beating Londero who prefers clay,Kecmanovic retired with injury.I don't understand why Jiri is the underdog here and none of his victories have been flukes.

Fabbiano to beat Verdasco. Two men in form Verdasco more so after coming back to clean Edwards on his home tournament.Verdasco who's had a history of chocking has had a quite consistent year with good performances including wins over Khachanov (twice ) and Thiem albeit over clay.I say it's a toss up with maybe Fabbiano edging over past slightly.

I'd avoid Anderson  vs Pella which smells of an upset.Anderson is the favourite and rightly so but Pella is motivated and has managed to pull some unexpected wins on grass. This tournament is no stranger to upsets.

Quite the opposite. If Kyrgios thinks he's the underdog you should expect a performance from him.Hence why he fails to show up against poor opposition."I beat you n I spent all night at the pub" is winner mentality from th guy. Also the way he downplayed himself in the first round presser https://www.youtube.com › watch
Nick Kyrgios Wimbledon 2019 First Round Press Conference - YouTube

I'd say expect a long match of epic proportions.

Sad for FAA if he is indeed injured. He was to make a run at US Open last year n now.He has no luck at Grand Slams.

Felix Auger officially out.Groin injury incurred 1st set Vs Paire at Lyon Open final on Saturday. You have to feel for the guy.He also had a favourable draw all the way to 3R to meet Delpo as the 1st serious competition of his caliber in his quarter.Damn

I'm starting to believe that May is indeed cursed now with Muguruza!

Regarding Harris - he looked good on clay in Ostrava, but that doesn't mean all that much obviously.

Jordan Thompson to beat FAA at 3.35 with Pinnacle

FAA is injured and considering withdrawing. Don't take this at bookies that void retirements - and, if you can take it at one that doesn't void after the first ball, do that.

Sad for FAA if he is indeed injured. He was to make a run at US Open last year n now.He has no luck at Grand Slams.

  5. Few personal opinions apart from the picks above.

I agree Millman is capable of an upset of Zverev.I'll be taking a side one on this one.

I was looking forward to take on Cameron Norrie before Kyrgios pulled out.No one believes he's really ill n he hates clay season with a passion.

Weren't he to take on a serious player in the 2nd round I'd have considered him to go on a bit further. Mikael Ymer will be decent n I expect him to win his first match art RG.I'd stay away from Jarry Vs DelPo.Most unpredicted 1st round match.

Kohlschreiber is a formidable opponent especially this year but I think there's value in taking R Haase against him based on motivation. Also Lloyd Harris prefers hard courts to clay I don't see why he's the favourite to beat Rosol who despite being poor in form on a good day is decent on Clay.Thoughts @South_African_Punter

  6. Today I'm taking Nadal,Wawrinka,Nishikori all based on virtuous superiority. Fucsovics is regurlaly underrated around here n people lose money, I never bet against him that said i'm silently rooting for stan this tournament.

I never bet on WTA which I equate to throwing money away but I have a hunch on Ostaponenko today.

The matches that I'll follow for upsets are Kachanov/Feli which will come down to aces contest and who will throw more.Kachanov this year having th finals curse that followed Dimitov and might take feli.

  7. I've won handsomely this week conservatively betting on Gunnerswan who I've followed through the challenger series closely the past year or so.Generally I'd rank him a 60-70 player and a 45 ranked player who can upset a top 50 regurlarly. I remember him at AO this year and could have gone farther had he not met Tiafoe.I think If Wawrinka can upset Federer(looking at his side of the draw) it possible this Masters 1000 is his for the taking.

Nole isn't  looking unbeatable and if it's a man to upset him in the final its none other than Stanimal.

  8. Looking at the qualifiers I think P. Gunnerswan is a top 5 challenger player for a while now and he had a descent showing against Tiafoe who had a good AO run.I think there's value against J.Jung the last time they met Gunnerswan bottled it and technically could have gone either way.The bets are looking tasty.

I also expect R. Berankis and R.Albot to have relatively easier times going on form.Thoughts? @CzechPunter @South_African_Punter

Medvedev to beat Tsonga at 1.67 with SportingBet

Medvedev and Tsonga both have had similar playing schedules in the past 2 weeks or so, however, in my mind, Medvedev cruised to victory in ATP Sofia, while Tsonga, who also won ATP Montpellier, had a bit of a tougher time. Also I believe that Medvedev is a more talented player than Tsonga, so I will be backing him here.

My 2 cents is that this game is very unpredictable. If it goes to tie breaks it can swing either way.So far Medvedev has been an engine and people have been counting on him to tire as seen by the Verdasco tips yesterday. If anything I'd say the match going more than 2 sets is a higher probability and safer bet or an Over type.I'll wait to watch for better odds but goodluck.

Back Fernando Verdasco (+1.5 sets handicap) to beat Daniil Medvedev at evens with Pinnacle

Not quite sure why the Spaniard is such a heavy underdog in this matchup, please let me know if I miss something. Ok, Daniil is going through a more than a decent period, but come on... I would also risk half stake on Verdasco's win, but will definitely go with the set handicap at evens. I was already debating whether to back Chardy for a set today, but in the end, it was a lucky choice to skip. The Frenchman had a decent opportunity to take the first set, but failed and then collapsed. Verdasco will have at least a similar if not better chance tomorrow. He also won their previous encounter last year, albeit on grass, but still comfortable.

I am very confident that Halep will easily go through Görges, that could serve as a good banker pick for another bet. Also, have a feeling that Garcia-Lopez might produce a surprising win against Millman, but 1.79 is decent odds on the set handicap.

In my honest opinion Medvedev > Tsitsipas and less inconsistent. Verdasco has a history of nerves in big matches and botlling in matches he should have won that's why bookies massively underrate him.The odds look perfectly fine. Medvedev beat a resurgent Monfils last week at Sofia almost too easily.

No one doubts Verdasco can beat Medvedev if he wanted though.

Brayden Schnur to beat Steve Johnson at 3.20 with Paddy Power

On a bit of a losing streak at the moment, but I suppose that was expected given the nice winning run at the start of the year. Nevertheless, I still want to play Schnur, especially after going through Johnson's record book that has so many recent losses that it's almost unbelievable. Of course, Schnur is a guy he could finally beat, but he's played some decent matches here already and has enough talent to stay there with Johnson. At 3.20, I think the bookies are underestimating Schnur's chances here.

What a comeback from Schnur on the last set.
