Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011

Premier League Roundup

Three prominent results in this run of the mill round: Kiryat Shmona (1:0 against a sloppy Maccabi) is showing the consistency befitting a top dog, while Hapoel Petach Tikva (2:1 away to Ashdod) and to a lesser extent the draw in the Haifa Derby, shows everyone can beat almost everyone else on a given day.

Sakhnin (Danalache 67') Vs Hapoel Tel Aviv (T. Tamuz 74' 86' E. Zahavi 77') 1:3

Netanya Vs Bnei Yehuda 0:0

Maccabi Tel Aviv Vs Kiryat Shmona (B. Badash 25') 0:1

Beer Sheva (O. Gavish 60') vs Ashkelon 1:0

Beitar Jerusalem (C. Azriel 41' 47' A. Bruchian 49') Vs Ramat Gan (D. Telkiski 27' L. Diamant 38') 2:3

Maccabi Haifa Vs Hapoel Haifa 0:0

Maccabi Petach Tikva (O. Damari 35') Vs Acre (J. Arafat 65') 1:1

Ashdod (E. Sarki 58') Vs Hapoel Petach Tikva (D. Biton 49' A. Turgeman 52') 1:2

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011 Hapoel Ashkelon - Maccabi Haifa Ashkelon is in a 4 games losing streak. After a good season opening, Ashkelon is now showing it's true skills and is looking like a team that will fight on the bottom of the table. For this match they will miss their central defender Darko Lubrich (injured), wing back Adir Tubul (suspended), wing back Kobi Musa (sick) and defensive midfielder Ravid Gazal (injured). All are regualrs! Ashkelon will get their best player Eran Levi back from suspension. Maccabi Haifa can feel dissapointed after the 0-0 draw last week in the derby against Hapoel Haifa. They were better but couldn't score. I predict that Haifa's players will be all over the place and will atack since the start of the game and against Ashkelon's patched defense they can do some damage. Maccabi Haifa (-1) @ 2.00 Stan James

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011 Hapoel Petah Tikva - Hapoel Tel Aviv Hapoel Petah Tikva will try to get something out of this game, but I doubt they can. Coach Yuval Naim said that if Tel Aviv will catch a good day, his players don't have a chance. Hapoel Tel Aviv lost last week to Ashdod, a loss they didn't deserve. They played well, pressed Ashdod, did everything well until the goal. Many misses by all of the players, and Ashdod stung with a corner and quick counter to win 2-0. Hapoel will field a super attacking formation with 3 strikers. They will probably try to finish the game in the first half as they have Champions League on Tuesday and in the second half they will substitute the key players in order to give them rest. I believe that odds will go down fast tomorrow and although the current odds are not my usual odds, I think away win is an excellent bet. 1) Hapoel Tel Aviv @ 1.57 SportingBet 2) Hapoel Tel Aviv To Win First Half @ 2.15 SportingBet

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011

Premier League Roundup

Beitar Jerusalem (three wins a row) are gaining momentum, Ashdod is conceding soft goals against weaker rivals (this time against Ramat Gan) and Sakhnin (without home win this season) are finding it hard to gather steam. League table shows a clear top (six teams) middle (six) and bottom (four) with almost no surprises.

Stormy weather is forecast for the weekend, which might effect the current round

Hapoel Petach Tikva (B. Fransman [o.g.] 37') Vs Hapoel Tel Aviv (T. Tamuz 5' 52' D. De Silva 23' E. Zahavi 27' S. Abutbul 75') 1:5

Ashdod (M. Ohayon 59' 73') Vs Ramat Gan (D. Telkiyski 10' K. Bibishkov 84') 2:2

Sakhnin (N. Ceh 64') Vs Hapoel Haifa (E. Ben Basat 34' 85' A. Abunil 90') 1:3

Beitar Jerusalem (C. Azriel 18' 87' S. Ayeli 54' A. Ben Shushan 56') Vs Ashkelon 4:0

Maccabi Tel Aviv (E. Atar 58' G. Israelevich 84') Vs Bnei Yehuda 2:0

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011 Hapoel Ashkelon - Bnei Sachnin A critial match for both sides: Ashkelon, 13th place with 10 points against Sachnin, 15th place with 8 points. Both teams are in bad shape and both aren't showing good football. Ashkelon haven't scored a goals 597 minutes and after throwing Eran Levi (key player, scored almost every goal of the team) I predict they will have trouble scoring. Sachnin are without a home win so far and away from home they have 2 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses. I see a low scoring game with both team play defense and try to sting and I'll go with a risky bet Under 1.5 Goals @ 3.1 Sportingbet

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011 Hapoel Haifa - Ashdod Hapoel Haifa are coming after a 3-1 win away against Sachnin. They have been playing not so good at home and their last home win was in September. For this match they will miss midfielder Gal Harel who is suspended after hitting a fellow player. Coach Shirazi still haven't decided who will be the goalkeeper today, as he tend to give credit to his second goalkeeper Gad Amos. Ashdod is unstable and we can see that after last week's draw against poor Ramat Gan. When Ashdod come to a game as a favourite, they can't handle it. When they come as an underdog, they take points. A good example is the win against Hapoel Tel Aviv two weeks ago. Important midfielder Steven King is back from suspension. All in all, two teams that play on the same level and I believe after last week's dissapointment, Ashdod can take points. Ashdod (+0.25) @ 1.75 StanJames

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011 Hapoel Aco - Beitar Jerusalem Two teams that are in two differnet phases will meet today. Aco achieved only 1 point in their last 3 games while Beitar are in a streak of the wins. Aco at home are very good and took points from big teams like Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Kiryat Shmona. The weather make it hard to play today as the prediction is strong winds and rain. Beitar is out of the crisis and in a good streak. But I still don't think they're good enough. Maybe they won 3 in a row but 2 out of the 3 were against bottum team (Hapoel Ramat Gam and Ashkelon). I believe the weather will interrupt technical players like Azriel, Bruchian, Ben Shushan. I think that this game will be a physical, hard fought and for this kind of matches I believe Aco fits better. Aco (+0) @ 2.24 Pinnacle

Premier League Roundup

Losing streaks (Ashkelon [6], Netanya [5] and Hapoel Haifa [five home games without a win]) as well as winning spells (Beitar Jerusalem [3]Kiryat Shmona [seven home games without loss] and Beer Sheva [five without loss]) were ended in what was touted (and fulfilled) as an even round.

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011 Bnei Sachnin - Hapoel Aco Sachnin lost last week to Ashkelon in a match they should have taken points. Sachnin is still in the 15th place with only 8 points. For this match goalkeeper and captain Meir Cohen is back after missing last week's match. Without a home win so far, Sachnin feel motivated to achieve points in front of their home crowed. Aco are in a great shape and mood. After last week's win 3-0 over Beitar Jerusalem, Aco became a force that can't be ignored in the league. They have managed well against the big teams and are playing a good attacking football. A bet against Aco is not an easy thing to do, but I'll go with Sachnin. After all the fuss aroung Aco in the media during this week, I believe they will be complacent and not ready to the hard battle Sachnin will give them. Sachnin will play aggressive and will do everything to finally win at home and I'm with them Sachnin (0) @ 2.07 Bet365

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011 Ashdod - Hapoel Ashkelon Ashdod are coming after a loss against Hapoel Haifa and the pressure is piling up. The only home win Ashdod have this season happaned in front of an empty stadium in a match against Beitar Jerusalem. Fans of Ashdod haven't seen a home win so far. Ashdod is having hard time against small teams that play defensivly and that is exactly the way Ashkelon will play today. Ashdod will miss striker Dimitar Mekriev, who will be replaced by Idan Shriki. Ashkelon, after a win last week, want to go out to the break with another win. Previous to last week's win, Ashkelon lost 6 in a row and the win gave them some air in the battles they will have against regelation. Ashdod are favourites but in my opinion not as the odds show. Odds of 1.6 on home win are too short and I will play Ashkelon (+1) @ 1.82 Bet365

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011 Beitar Jerusalem - Kiryat Shmona Beitar were defeated last week 3-0 against Aco and all the talks about improving went down the drain. In January the team will bring new players but until then they have to play this match today with the current players. Kiryat Shmona have already shown that they are not a surprise and are in the top for a reason. They play good and organazied football. This game will be played with no crowed (Beitar fans were punished) and I honestly can't understand why Beitar are favourites. Kiryat Shmona (+0.25) @ 1.88 Bet365

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011 Sachnin (0) @ 2.07 LOST Ashkelon (+1) @ 1.82 PUSH Kiryat Shmona (+0.25) @ 1.88 LOST Bad Saturday no doubt, hope could save something from this week. Hapoel Petah Tikva - Hapoel Haifa Atmosphere in Petah Tikva is quite low. Top scorer Dudu Biton will probably leave in the break to Europe. Junior Vise, best midfielder of the team in my opinion didn't give the permission to fly to his family for a vacation and will probably leave too. Captain Jonathan Asus had a fight with the coach and it's not clear yet if he plays. Hapoel Haifa come after 2 wins over Bnei Sachnin and Ashdod. They are eager to go the break with a good streak. Hapoel Haifa can danger Petah Tikva's weak defense and I'm with them. Hapoel Haifa (+0) @ 1.88 StanJames

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011

Premier League Roundup

The biggest transfer news sees Hapoel Tel Aviv (in the midst of managerial turmoil, which has mercifully had little impact on the pitch) losing its pre-eminent center back, Douglas de Silva, with no replacement so far. Eran Levi, Ashkelon's almost only scorer, joins Beer Sheva (I'll post a full update when the window ends)

With the top contenders all win, attention shifts to the relegation battle. Hapoel Petach Tikva, that looked doomed already, is gaining ground on the account of Sakhnin, which is going from bad to worse (The management has already asked players to take a significant shave on their salary, and are bound to lose some the best of them) Ashkelon seems shorn of ideas, too.

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011

Event B. Jerusalem - M. Netanya
Selection B. Jerusalem
Strength 10/10
Date 01/01/2011
Bookmaker/Price Stan James @ 1.75
Reasoning Beitar Jerusalem and Maccabi Netanya are so close in the table, separate by only one difference points, but they are living so different moments... Beitar Jerusalem won four of their last five games while Maccabi only won one of their same five games, collecting three defeats. At home, Beitar Jerusalem, moralized and confident, should be much stronger than their opponents. The season is still on the first half and i believe Beitar Jerusalem will reach a place on the Play-off Champion while Maccabi Netanya will fight against relegation. Like this, i think Beitar Jerusalem will continue his great shape and will win this game too.

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011

Premier League Roundup

The tragic death of veteran Avi Cohen (Maccabi Tel Aviv, Liverpool and Rangers) in a motorcycle accident, the infighting between Hapoel Tel aviv's owners, Moni Harel and Eli Tabib, and the match fixing allegation (ferociously denied) against Douglas de Silva (Hapoel Tel Aviv and Kfar Saba) were dwarfed by the sacking of Maccabi Tel Aviv's manager, Avi Nimni.

Nimni is the last great player to come from Maccabi's ranks. His enigmatic, "negative" charisma, belied by down to earth manners have made him a subject of special admiration sometimes bigger than the club. However, Maccabi's lackluster performances since he took the helm (regardless of a $25 million budget, the biggest in the league) have left him stranded, and after the 3:0 drubbing by Maccabi Haifa on Monday he was sacked by a phone call from Mitch Goldhar (the club's owner)

Some would say Maccabi is better without Nimni's big shadow, but the club was left with more questions than answers now.

Hapoel Tel Aviv Vs Hapoel Haifa 5:0

Ramat Gan Vs Bnei Yehuda 1:1

Beer Sheva Vs Maccabi Petach Tikva 2:1

Ashdod Vs Acre 3:1

Sakhnin Vs Kiryat Shmona 1:0

Beitar Jerusalem Vs Netanya 0:0

Hapoel Petach Tikva Vs Ashkelon 0:2

Petach Tikva took a body blow when Dudu Biton, the striker who kept it (barely) above water (12 goals of 15) has signed up with Belgian Charlerois.

Maccabi Haifa Vs Maccabi Tel Aviv 3:0

Re: Israel Premier League (Ligat Toto) 2010/2011 I don't have much time today so only short write ups. Kiryat Shmona - Ashdod It's time for Kiryat Shmona to bounce back from their losing streak and at home against Ashdod who will miss their 2 central defenders is a good opprutinity. Kiryat Shmona (-0.25) @ 1.95 StanJames Bnei Yehuda - Beer Sheva Coach of Bnei Yehuda took out of the roster two of of the team's leaders (Moshe Biton and Asi Baldut). I believe that without then Bnei Yehuda's chances are not improving. Beer Sheva DNB @ 2.15 Bet365
